Cal Gets Commitment from the Nation's Top Center Prospect

The commitment of Luis Uvuo, he goes by Luis in this country, Luis Uvuo is a major coup for Cal and Mark Madsen. He's ranked as the top center prospect in the country for the class of 2027 and the number six or seven overall prospect, depending on which recruiting service you look at. And his commitment, along with that of Gene Roebuck, who is also a top 50 prospect for the class of 2027, really lines up as an excellent, I would guess, top 20 class in the country. It remains to be seen where they rank those teams. A lot of the top players haven't made a commitment yet. The commitment doesn't really mean anything. It's not binding until the player signs a financial agreement, and high school basketball players can do that in the early signing period, which starts on November 11th and lasts until November 18th. So Cal is hoping this player, he's already a tremendous defensive player, shot blocker, very athletic, high energy. His offensive game is very limited. He's only been playing organized basketball for three years. He's from Nigeria, just came to this country a little over a year ago. So he has a lot to go, but his potential is almost limitless.
