I had to learn to play the game with the cards I was dealt.
These two guys are, they've grown up with us here on the noon.
Kid J, local artist, designer.
You know, you got your own sneaker coming out, man.
Yes, sir.
Yeah, you're doing big things.
Welcome back, Kid J.
Welcome back, Pops.
Thank you.
Pops and Son podcast.
Make sure you check them out.
Look, guys, we heard about this new sneaker.
So how did this idea come about, Kid J?
Oh, so Rock Street Sports reached out to us.
Shout out to Sean Streets.
He wanted to do a partnership with us
and he threw out the idea of having a shoe
so I wanted the shoe to represent something
that I'm passionate about so we
Put it out and actually we working on it and it's going
to represent autism and everybody that knows me knows that
I'm a huge advocate for autism. So yeah,
we appreciate what you do for the autism community and speaking up guys
And this is the design of the sneaker right here.
Yes. All right, so we get a close in on that
close up on that one
so that's what the sneaker will look like to be able to
amplify the voices of many people
in the autism community with having a shoe that
includes them what does that mean for you oh man means everything to me
because you know there's a lot of families a lot of people who aren't
educated about the spectrum
so we're just glad if we can put out a product
that can you know bring them to want
to learn about it pops tell me about your
involvement and and what it's like to see part of your son's dream
and idea you know come to life
okay well you know i just want to put
that the first idea you know he wanted to make an
autistic high school high school for the kids
which you know is a lot more work um so he said
dad this is what we're gonna do we're gonna use
you know my son as autistic cares loving um
his saying that at first he first said was the love is different
so we used it for our clothing
brand we reached out like say we was talking
to Sean Streets about it and he was like well
he's in Vegas he's like i got a shoe company man we can partner
so we end up partnering and uh the
shoe should be out around christmas time
um and it's in production you know i have uh little
models i could have brought but this was better
for you know the production of showing that you
know we're bigger than just the shoe
and uh it just feels great man just feels great to help
all these young uh autism uh you guys
are empowering people to find a voice uh and that
that means that speaks volumes um what is it
that you hope people can you know take away from
the brand especially with the saying
the love is different the love is different
it's always different man you know like
they they love different the spectrum has a
this is as long as a whole bunch of you know some it's non-verbal
or something that's a bit violent
towards the parents it's something
that you know uh it's just different man you know so
everybody loves different with autism
so you just you got to understand them
uh kid what else are you working on oh uh
so besides this you know uh every year i'm putting
out um an album but next year i'm gonna just put out
a whole bunch of singles so okay you know for
people that love my music that's what
that's what you can look forward to. What has been something
that's been motivating you to say i gotta get
in the booth i gotta put this in a song
oh man uh my hunger yeah right um you know there's
a there's a certain level that i want to reach
when i you know stop doing music um so every day i'm just writing
and writing i'm like man i gotta
get in there i gotta get in there
because you know every day you know is a new experience and
you know you just want to put
that content out like you know you make a song about anything so
i stay hungry all the time man i got you gotta
keep feeding uh you guys where and i know you
said pops you said uh right around christmas
the shoe will drop where can people find if they want
to uh if they want to get one okay well i'll
be putting it on our you know we got an online store
with the love is different.com um where you'll see all
the rest of our merch uh we go from coffee
cups to uh book bag for our kids um in a drop on the on the line store
and sean streets has
he has a big following I know it's going you
know we got some entries to some big stores like
journey and footlocker for a new shoe brand
so we're waiting on that confirmation and uh yeah
let's go on the online store fellas we appreciate
it folks check us out support autism we'll be
right back
