Trendsetter Fashion Gala happening coming Nov. 14 in Renton, WA

The Trendsetter Fashion Gala is back again this year, and it's just a little over two weeks away. It's going down November 14th in Renton. You can expect a runway showcase with special entertainment and glamour, style, culture, really great vibes. Joining us now to talk about the event and their love of fashion, we have Adobe president and owner of Trendsetter Productions and designer, Deontay. thank you both so much for being here thank you for having us oh and of course you brought some fantastic fashions as well okay so this is the 16th annual Trendsetter Fashion Gala what can we expect this year yeah so we're going to have a red carpet and also it's going to be um we're going to have a runway presentation i will be showcasing my new collection for Dovie Seattle along with the Project Runway designers, Vijay Floresca and Deontay Weather. Amazing stuff. Now, talk to me a little bit about where you are landing right now in terms of fashion. What can people expect to see from you? So I just got back from New York Fashion Week, and I did a big denim explosion of recycled materials. So I'm trying to continue on that journey of recycled materials, but you'll see a lot of glamour for this showcase. I absolutely love that, and I think you both are doing something very special, right? You have a focus on things that are really important in the community in general when it comes to recycled fashion. I think that's a growing industry. Absolutely. And Dovie, I know that you love to represent your Filipino culture. It happens to be Filipino History Month, and tell me a little bit about how some of your designs really honor your culture. So this collection is going to be another twist of our Filipino culture and that would be modern and of course there will be silhouettes. That's amazing and we have a look at some of your designs here as well. I think that illustrates what we're talking about. I know that we've talked in the past and you definitely love to use some of the materials that remind you of home. Now, I want to ask you guys, when it comes to attending this fabulous event, how to dress, I mean, are we going all out here? Yes. We would love to see all our guests to wear your best red carpet attire because this is the event for you to flaunt your fashion. Oh, I absolutely love a moment to get dressed up. We're getting a close-up look at some of the designs here. And I think that it's absolutely stunning, especially if you have the opportunity to go to a very fashionable event such as this. I know there's also going to be some amazing performances as well. Tell me a little bit about that. That's right. So we're going to have Jocelyn Enriquez. She's a Billboard hit chart topping. Yeah. So she's going to entertain us along with Maurice Mosax. He's also a local saxophonist that will be entertaining us on a red carpet absolutely love that we're seeing an image of that there and it's really a beautiful way for you to showcase the talent in our community i know that the gala is also a place where you make space for like budding designers budding creatives and i know you guys are like deep in the work right now but yes think back what was it like for you at the beginning and having the opportunity to to have space made for you to shine you know it's been a incredible journey for me so over 20 years now uh showing myself in my platform on Project Runway was like a whole new experience and then having our winner from Project Runway showcasing alongside of me DJ it's going to be incredible but when i look back i'm just so grateful and i try to give back and mentor the youth to give them something to look forward to absolutely i think this is all fantastic all happening November 14th okay how do we get our hands on some tickets give them that ticket yes please get um go to our website trendsetterproduction.com and that will be on November 14 again i hope to see you there oh absolutely stunning yes a reason to get dressed up and have a lot of fun thank you both for being here thank you for having us absolutely absolutely amazing.
