AI GeneratedThe Gulf Coast Weather Authority provides a forecast for the upcoming Halloween weekend. While some rain and storms are expected due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Vance, most of the holiday weekend should remain pleasant, with the heaviest rain staying west of Houston.
All right, we're your Gulf Coast Weather Authority wanting
to know what the weekend is going to be like and well,
I know I'm already thinking about the weekend.
It's Tuesday, but what's the rest of the weekend week
also going to be like never too early to think about the weekend,
I'm thinking about it too
And we've got a few ups and downs, a few bumps in the road,
Rashi, but overall there's more treats than tricks.
I'll say we do have some rain to deal with and maybe a few storms,
but I think most of our Halloween weekend should be fairly nice.
Let's see what's going on with our Fox Red Radar right now.
And there are a few showers.
trying to get going and push on shore.
Right now, close to you in Galveston. So if you're in
Freeport, Galveston, League City, Texas City,
there may be a little bit of rain tonight, but I don't
expect a ton of that to make it up to Houston.
The rain we had earlier, of course, was hit or miss.
It was fairly light most of the time,
and you can see the totals weren't that impressive. Anywhere
from about a trace to a quarter of an inch of rain,
but we do have more chances on the way if
rain is what you're looking for.
I did want to show you a wider view because you see that area
is spinning in red to the south and west of Mexico.
That is a tropical storm. The name is
Vance. And although it is barely hanging on as a tropical system,
the remnants of this system
late week will start to kind of haunt us a little bit.
We'll have the ghost of Vance after it
weakens, bringing that tropical moisture back into Texas.
And that's going to lead to a threat
for some flash flooding.
Don't think the main flood threat will be here, but if you're traveling
Thursday to Lubbock, Midland,
Abilene and other parts of west west central Texas. There's a two
out of four risk for street flooding that creeps
into places like Waco, Austin, San Antonio on
Friday then kind of hops over us for Saturday.
I don't think we're going to have a flood threat
here but if you're over towards Birmingham,
Nashville, Atlanta for trick-or-treat plans
for Saturday there will be a low marginal threat for flooding there.
So what do we have to deal
with? Don't think it's going to be super heavy rain.
Tomorrow there's a few showers potentially
mainly west of 45 west of Houston during
the afternoon Thursday rain chances stay fairly low
I think the majority of the heavy rain is going
to be back over central and west Texas Friday
that's when we start to get the better shot for some
of those downpours notice around 3:15 p.m.
on Friday the yellows and reds are popping up
those are some heavy downpours that could make
it all the way down into Houston
and impact your Friday afternoon Friday evening Halloween plans
Maybe you're planning on going trick-or-treating
two nights in a row, Friday and Saturday.
So do plan on some showers around Friday night
into early Saturday morning.
Now, of course, Halloween is Saturday.
So if you're going trick-or-treating on Saturday night,
I think most of that rain is out of here
as we get around the late afternoon and evening.
We've got sunset around 6:30, 6:35 on Saturday night.
So that means most of the rain is not going to bother you.
And you also see that the heaviest of this rain,
the biggest rain totals, are going to stay well to our west.
Maybe two, three, four inches of rain through the rest
of this week for places like Lubbock and Midland.
But this model, not very confident that we'll get any heavy rain,
showing maybe a trace of rain to maybe up
to a half an inch in a few spots.
But overall, I think it will rain at times Friday and Saturday,
but it is going to be fairly light.
So 30% rain chance tomorrow.
That dips to 10% Thursday.
Late Friday, it's 40%.
And then early Saturday, it's a 50% chance.
So that means if you have trick-or-treat, Halloween party plans,
or anything outdoors Friday night, there will be a better chance
for rain with temps in the 80s for the next two to three afternoons.
But if you're going out Saturday night,
rain will be a lot less widespread.
So Friday night, Halloween planner.
We're in the 70s, and there's a 40% chance for those spooky showers.
And then jumping ahead to Saturday night, which is actually Halloween,
so that's when most of the trick-or-treating will be done.
we're in the 70s and I think most of that rain is gone.
Also keeping a close eye on a week from now
it's a huge day election day
and right now models are saying a cold front is going to roll through
and could bring us a big chance for widespread rain storms
that could slow you down if you're
trying to get out there to vote so keep checking back
but it looks like we'll have a decent cool
down about a week from now going into Tuesday night and Wednesday.
