Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video compares the electronics departments of Target and Walmart, evaluating their product variety, pricing, and stock levels. The creator concludes that Walmart is the superior choice for tech shoppers due to its massive inventory, more affordable house brands, and better availability of high-demand items compared to Target's limited selection and overpriced accessories.
What's up everybody, welcome back to another full length video.
We're currently outside Target because we're going to do a comparison.
Who's got better tech, Walmart or Target?
So we're going to take a little trip through the store,
maybe we'll buy some stuff, maybe
we won't, but my main objective is to go through,
we're going to compare prices on all different
types of products such as game consoles
and phones and tablets, see who's got the better
deals, who's got the better products,
and yeah, maybe we'll buy some stuff, maybe we
won't.
We're also going to go through, like, cases and screen protectors
because I'm also just curious for my own sake.
See if I'm underselling the stuff that I am.
So, let's do a little comparison.
If I burp on
camera.
Do it.
That was such a weak burp.
Did you actually?
Yeah, it was pretty rough.
That is so freaking cute.
Oh, no.
We got to get out of the clothing section ASAP.
I'm gonna pee.
No, you know it's the bad section is the beauty section.
The beauty section?
Don't let me go past it.
No, I always, whenever I'm in here, I go right to...
The electronic section, so I'm gonna know what
the beauty section is in this place.
I'm a little chaotic outside my natural environment.
They don't want you to know this, but
this is where they keep the cool stuff.
I was so tempted.
Funny enough, I actually used to work at this Target.
All right guys, we're in the tech aisle.
As the big sign points to, uh, tech.
You know, I just realized too,
I look like I work here now because I got the
bad day to wear the red sweatshirt.
If Target wants to sponsor me, go right ahead.
All right, first let's go through headphones, I guess.
What do they got? What do they got? They got
a good selection of Beats. They got the
Beats Pro 2s for like $250. Beats Solo 4s for $200.
Honestly, I have a feeling everything's
going to be basically the same price
when we go to both stores. All right, guys, so Anchor's a
really good brand.
We got charging box for like $35 for the cheapest one, it looks like.
That is 10,000 milliamp hours. The 20,000 one is $4 more.
Not a bad price. Anker is actually my
favorite brand. If you have a chance to pick up any one
of their chargers or anything like that,
I highly recommend it. Chargers themselves go for about 21 bucks.
I figured they'd be around there.
The blocks themselves are about 15.
And then you got Heyday, which is Target brands.
They're selling them for about $5 cheaper.
Never reviewed those yet.
Sure, honestly, they're probably the same thing.
All right, now if we compare the headphones,
we got Target brand headphones for $25.49.
Do we pick up a couple?
Because Walmart has their brand called On,
like On tablets, On headphones.
I don't know if they make headphones,
but I know Walmart has a brand.
Target has a brand too.
Should we do a little side-by-side comparison?
Should we pick up a pair of headphones?
We also got wireless earbuds here,
the Target brand, for about $30,
which is honestly a really good deal.
Maybe we'll circle back and pick up a couple of those,
because I'm just tempted to see how they work.
Now we have some deal-worthy chargers for six bucks.
Not bad.
It's gonna be harder than wanting to beat Walmart.
Got your Fire sticks.
Those really go for the same price, though,
on in-stores as they do online, though.
Like certain things, you go in-store,
it's honestly cheaper online or,
hmm, a Roku projector.
It's got a Roku TV built into it.
Interesting.
A lot of customers come in with these screen protectors.
Crazy, look, $44.99 for a screen protector.
Is that like at least a pack of four?
No, it's a one pack.
One screen protector, $44.
I mean, some of them are on clearance for 22 bucks,
but it looks like those are for the older phones.
$22 for a screen protector, 44 is only what they go for.
Crazy expensive, and I don't see any other ones
except for the Zag brand here.
OtterBoxes, not bad.
iPhone 17. Oh no, it's a screen protector for 12 bucks from OtterBox.
And then the 17 is still $40.
Are you guys spending $40 for a screen protector?
Because I've heard some crazy outrageous price.
I know the phone stores, they also sell them for like crazy expensive.
I've heard somebody's paid
like $80 at like T-Mobile for one of them.
Crazy. How much have you gotten your screen
protector for? All right guys,
so if we're taking a look at the cases, OtterBox, 80 smackaroos.
Insane. You couldn't actually get a good deal,
though, because, like, this iPhone 16 case,
which the phone is a couple years older,
but it's still a relatively new phone.
$18 for an OtterBox.
Honestly, you really can't beat that,
because the majority of them float around $50 to $80,
which is insane for a phone case, but your phone is $1,000.
So, well, make sure you keep it protected.
A little segue.
If you don't know how to keep your phone protected
and you drop your phone repeatedly, like that.
And you crack it, I gotta give you the craziest look.
You can ship in your device.
We have a mail-in form, mail-in link in the bio.
This lady is also staring at me heavily.
Let's go, let's go, next stop, next stop.
I still gotta get used to filming in public, you know?
Not in the confines of the shop.
If you're looking to do videos like me
and wanna get a pair of Meta glasses,
same price as online, $299.
But it's cool, you're able to get them in store.
They got a different variety.
I mean, test it out, I think.
Pretty cool, pretty cool.
We got Garmin watches, nice, Fitbit.
All right guys, so which watch do you guys have currently?
So I personally stay away from smartwatches.
I like traditional watches, I think they just look nicer.
And for me, is it really that much difficult
to look at your phone versus just looking at the watch?
But, a lot of people do like using smartwatches,
so you guys get a Fitbit, a Garmin, Apple Watch,
Samsung Watch.
Leave a comment down below.
I want to know what you guys use,
so I'm actually just genuinely curious.
Also, I have yet to find a band on a smartwatch that actually fits me
and doesn't irritate
my skin.
But, AirPod Pros, looks like everything's sold out,
or they just keep them in the back,
because they're easily stealable.
But, they're also AirPod Maxes for $600, which is crazy.
What else we got?
I'm curious about the used phones, though.
Nothing yet that I want to buy.
Let's see.
Let's see.
That's just boring.
I know.
We got a secret admirer.
All right, what else we got?
Instacam.
I kind of want to get one of those, but I really don't need them.
I know a lot of content creators have been here.
There's anybody in this department that can help.
Oh, I don't work here.
Um, I work here. Hold on.
I work here.
He doesn't work here. He should be here.
Don't be my lover.
I told you.
It's the red sweatshirt. It wasn't a good...
Anyways, back to the TVs.
What's really cool about TVs is they're
so much more affordable than they used to be.
A lot of customers come in all the time.
They're asking, hey, can you fix my TV? I got a 55-inch.
If you just look at general prices of TVs, I actually was here
about a week ago and I bought a new TV for my dad.
This is a 55-inch TV for 300 bucks.
Granted, it is a Roku TV. A lot of people do not like Roku TVs,
but still 300 bucks, you get yourself a nice 55-inch.
65-inch for the same price, $299.
The Hero. Hero TV. I still can't believe we were being like followed
while I worked here.
You want to combine health and fitness and tech.
They got like Thera face mask, Theragun,
a Thera back LED like back massager it looks like.
Pretty cool I suppose. Instacameras. I like the uh
the Polaroids. Oh they got a yellow one now.
That is really cool. I have so many of these
cameras. Oh pink one and that's pretty cool too.
Look they got folding frame stands, a camera case.
Do they have their own version of the camera?
I mean, they have the Instamax, the Fujifilm,
but I don't see, what camera is this for?
I guess any camera.
It's kind of cool.
Oh, a little microphone.
Sorry.
This one.
This one's pretty cool.
A handheld adapter for a wireless micro.
That's literally this.
You can put this in a little holder.
It's $30 for this little,
and it turns it into like a little wand.
And Heyday obviously has a wide selection
of keyboards and mouses.
They even got replacement little sets
that you can put on top.
Because, uh, yeah.
Oh, food!
Look at that.
They got little burgers and hot dogs with cola.
But I have noticed that a lot of these shelves are pretty empty,
so it's either everything's very, very popular
and they're selling out of a lot of them,
or, you know, they just haven't kept up with stock and stuff.
But that's all right.
This one's got a backlight, too.
It's like a gaming keyboard.
Feels pretty cheap, but it's okay.
I do like the feel of this, though.
I feel that this 3D printer would be cool to mess around with.
Yeah, I've never had a 3D printer before.
Should I come back and buy this?
Because I'm very curious about if this is a good brand.
And I don't know anything about 3D printers,
if I'm being honest with you guys.
Alright, so we got a PS5 Digital Edition for $599.
They do have two in stock.
And then they have the traditional PS5 with the disc.
Not the Pro.
Not the Slim for $649.
I have them listed for like $550.
So if you want to save $100, check out digitaldoctor.com.
You can pick up a PS5.
Same exact one as this one, fully refurbished.
Just hit the link down below.
$100.
You can put that on black.
Anyways, game console stuff, you know.
Ooh, Nintendo Switches.
The Switch Lite for $229.
I feel like those used to be cheaper.
I feel like they used to be like $150.
Anyways, Nintendo Switch,
the standard for $339 and then the OLED version for $399, $400.
Welcome to the modern world.
Everything tech-related has gone through the roof.
The Switch 2 is 500 smackaroons. Too expensive for my blood.
Let's go to the next aisle.
Ooh, they even have some dash cams. $199, $59.99.
I kind of need a dash cam, not going to lie.
This one's a dash cam and GPS.
PlayStation portals, the one thing that nobody ever wants for $250.
You literally have to pay people to take that off your hands
because apparently nobody wants that thing.
They're cool, though. Don't get me wrong.
You get PS5 Pro for $899.
GTA is coming out in about a month, so no surprise that they're so bad.
Where are the phones at?
Where are the phones?
Oh, Xbox.
What?
The Series S for $500?
That console's been out for so long,
and they're still selling it for 500 bucks, that's crazy.
A lot of games, they're sold out on the Series X,
which it looks like they're $749, sold out.
Boy, they keep them in the back, but.
Quest, still $600 for the Quest 3S.
There's a Quest 3, the normal one, 512 gigabyte one.
600 bucks, it's crazy.
Yeah, I don't see any phones.
Another thing, I mean, they got Aura Rings,
and you could size it.
Size nine, you hear that, ladies?
I'm a size nine.
I feel like Target used to have display stuff, too.
Yeah, I mean, a lot of stores that had the display phone,
you could try it out and stuff.
Another thing is laptops.
I don't see any laptops, either.
Maybe we missed them?
That's crazy.
There's really nothing for us to buy here.
Nothing that really stands out, not any really good deals.
And there's no clearance.
No clearance sales.
Everything's expensive, and we're just walking in circles.
No phones, no computers, very small selection
of computer accessories, like headphones
and stuff like that.
Game consoles, they're pretty much out of stock
on everything, and also expensive as hell.
So, let's just head over to Walmart.
What's up guys, we're over at a Walmart.
It's funny now, cause now I'm matching with the Walmart.
Today's actually a new day.
We actually had to head back to the store
while we were filming that first part of the video
at Target, but let's go inside.
Let's do a comparison.
I made notes on everything that we looked at over there.
Like I said, I was pretty disappointed
cause Target really didn't have a whole lot of stuff.
So hopefully Walmart will be a little better.
I think right now would be a good time
to tell you guys about today's sponsor.
MyProtection, we're actually partnered with MyProtection
to offer phone insurance in all 50 states.
All you got to do is just make sure you use promo code DIGITALDOCK.
You'll save on your first month's plan
and it covers you in all 50 states, low deductibles,
and it doesn't matter if you live in California or Florida,
you're covered in all 50 states.
Or just hit the link in the bio,
shipping your device, and we'll bring it back to life.
All right, guys, we're at the Walmart.
Right off the rip, this section is massive.
And the thing that we're going to be going over is the on.
Products, do a little side-by-side comparison of everything.
Also compare it to Target as well, but.
All right guys, so right off the rip,
Take a look, we got headphones, massive selection of stuff.
I mean, you also have Apple AirPods,
which is kind of cool because they don't have to keep it
in the back.
You can actually see how many they have in stock.
You don't really need to grab.
I mean, you still need somebody to unlock it for you,
but cool.
You can see what they have currently in stock.
They have a wide selection of on devices only going
for about 1488.
Those are the over the ear ones.
They have some earbuds too for about 50 bucks.
But they have all kinds of different styles of them too.
So definitely a wide range of products.
Oh, look, those ones are transparent.
That's kind of cool actually.
They're like prison earbuds.
On mini rug speaker with LED lighting.
Hmm, Skullcandy.
I've never been crazy about Skullcandy stuff.
I've always liked JBL more than anything,
but speaking of the devil, JBL.
You've got the Flip 6, you've got the Charge 6,
you've got the Charge 5, you've got the Small Ghost, the Clips.
Actually, the Clips work really well, and they're pretty cheap.
They're only 50 bucks, so I'll roll back.
This is what's cool about the Walmart brands
is they literally make products for everything.
Like, once we go through the rest of the store, I can almost guarantee you,
everything that we see that a major brand makes,
Walmart has their own version of it for a lot cheaper.
So, we do a quick little comparison here.
I don't think they even had any JBLs or, like, big soundboxics.
They didn't have any, like, giant speakers at Target at all.
But this is only going for $109.
They don't have any of the JBLs for sale.
But those go for about, like, 800 bucks, I think I spent for mine.
So, big price difference.
Maybe we buy one of these to see how it sounds compared to the JBL.
Surround systems, sound bars.
LG, though, or JBL, I mean, those are expensive.
Look at that, $300.
Crazy, crazy.
Or $299 for a Samsung one.
A little pricey.
Alright, this is actually a really cool section that I like,
is that they have routers and
Wi-Fi extenders.
They have Wi-Fi adapters too,
so if your network card on your computer or laptop just goes
bad, you can pick up one of these from Walmart for about $30
and you don't have to even worry
about bringing your phone into a shop
or your device into a shop to get it fixed.
You just plug in one of those, good to go.
Routers, because Comcast is the only option around here
and they charge you like $20 a month for equipment rental,
so you spend $30 to $60, you know, after four or five months, yo,
what's going on? Good. After four or five months, it pays for itself.
So, that's pretty cool. Oh, ----. They have security cameras, too.
I don't know.
Hmm.
And they got a whole bunch of them.
Can you do laptops again?
Oh, look.
On smart security cameras.
Definitely works via Wi-Fi.
Kind of like the Wyze ones do.
Let's see.
$34 versus $44.
So if you're picking up 10 different cameras for your home,
it makes a big difference.
Okay, we also have mice and keyboards.
We had a small selection of stuff,
but nothing like this.
This is like, compare this to the Target, I mean.
So I think it's a no-brainer because I don't,
did we even see any printers?
I think you said there was a few, right?
Maybe.
I think there was a few printers,
but there's a whole aisle of printers.
Monitors which go on to the next aisle over.
Monitor mounts made by Walmart.
There's another portable office monitor for 85 bucks.
A kickstand.
It's actually not bad.
They even make ink.
They make ink.
And we all know how ink is so expensive.
HP 10192.
On $44. That's a crazy difference.
TVs. We got a huge selection of TVs.
Target was basically out of stock on everything,
but this goes down all the way.
And we got Walmart brand on, which is pretty good.
TCLs, Hisense, Vizio, Samsung. We got them all.
Flash storage. They even have some stuff for PC building.
So if you take a look down here,
we got the power supply, 1,000 watt power supply.
They got a 50-50 graphics card.
They do have some motherboards in stock.
A 5060, a 5070 Ti, that goes for 829, 5070 for about 800 bucks.
70-70 for about 800 bucks.
You got some RGB fans, SSDs, so this is kinda cool.
So that's what's super cool,
like I've always liked the in-store display,
so you can actually test it out, see the specs,
see how it performs, get a feel for it too,
because if you're gonna spend, you know,
probably over a thousand bucks for anything nowadays,
you wanna see if you're actually gonna enjoy it,
not have to deal with the headache of returning stuff.
But let's keep it moving.
Got the wearable tech out.
Oh, and look at that, tablets.
They actually have tablets for sale.
I kinda like these Android tablets, not gonna lie.
They're like really smooth, in my opinion,
and they look nicer.
It's a very good question.
And look, cool point about Walmarts
are usually they have somebody up front
that handles carriers.
So like if you're trying to switch
to a prepaid line or something,
they can help get you all set up in store.
So you don't even have to go to the carrier
when you buy your phone, but.
Like I said, pretty cool, pretty cool.
Chargers, chargers and cases.
Next.
What the heck?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Looks like they got smart glasses.
There we go.
I don't think they have, they don't have cameras,
but you can listen to music.
So like glorified speakers for 20 bucks.
It's pretty cool.
iChargers. They do have Anchor,
and I think their Anchor stuff's listed for cheaper, too.
Only $15. That charger's only $7.98,
and that's for an official Anchor charger.
It's a little bit larger.
They do have some Belkin ones, which are pretty good, too.
The Cubes are just Cubes, but let's see the on-chargers.
I see one listed down here for $6.88, $9.88, $9.88, $6.88.
So, overall, cheaper. $4, yeah.
So overall, even the chargers are cheaper,
but I'm curious about the cases though because there
were some pretty good deals with the OtterBoxes.
You get stuff that are pretty similar to OtterBox here
for... overall the prices are cheaper.
Screen protectors, look at this, $9.88. What were they
charging over there? $45. Yeah.
Something like that. So big difference, same thing,
it's just a screen protector. It's just tempered glass,
doesn't really make a difference.
And they're On Brand Cases, $18.98.
So that's pretty average to comparable
to what you get on like Amazon and stuff.
So I would definitely say just come to Walmart,
pick out what you like, pretty good.
Walmart, honestly, sponsor me.
And another point that I want to mention
is On makes their own tablets too in Consumer Tech.
So we're probably gonna pick up a couple of those
and do another video just reviewing all the,
you know, Walmart brand tech.
It's cool though, because even they have TV antennas.
So you can just pick up one of these,
hook up to your TV, if it's got the port for it,
and you can view local channels without having
to pay for it too, which is pretty neat.
Like I said, I didn't see any of that stuff at Target.
And the store is out. Like, it's kind of crazy.
I feel like Target, the entire tech department was like,
it was ran through.
Kind of like my ex-girlfriend.
Keep that in.
Got tripods.
No lie though, that girl was ran through.
This is what I missed about Walmart.
I haven't been here in a while,
but this was always my favorite aisle.
Just like when they just throw everything
they're trying to get rid of for dirt cheap
and just a big stack and just sort through it.
Like I used to do that with video games.
They used to have like a video game cart when I was a kid.
I'll just sit there and just rummage through them,
see what I could find for like two bucks.
Sometimes you get really good.
Oh, hot tamales.
Look at that face, hot tamales are amazing.
I used to like consume these in like water.
All right, so we got the consoles here.
I'm not really gonna expect any crazy price difference.
Consoles limited one per person due to high demand.
So, Walmart's actually taking steps to prevent scalpers
and stuff from buying them up and just reselling them.
The Series S is going for $500,
the Series X Digital is going for $748, the regular version
is going for $800, so basically the same,
maybe a $1 or $2 difference, but when it comes
to consoles, you're really not going to see a crazy price difference.
I think the main thing is, you know,
that they actually have stuff in stock.
And when it comes to accessories too,
I mean, they got a Thrustmaster,
they got the Riffmaster,
they got a in-home flight simulator
for the Thrustmaster too,
so that's pretty cool.
Ooh, great to throw in a Trilogy for the Switch.
I just bought a Switch today.
Hit me instead.
Oh, well, a lot of the stuff's also for a Switch too.
There's a lot in stock.
Maybe Walmart's running the big retail store race.
Dude, they have some on sale.
Oh, the switch lite, $179.
No, they used to be cheaper, I swear.
You can get them pre-owned though, online.
Like, don't buy one brand new.
People don't like the switch lite for some reason.
Granted, like the quality is not always the best.
It's an LCD screen,
but you can get them online for like a hundred bucks.
I would just do that.
If you're looking to get a switch lite,
add it to your collection.
Headphones, consoles, we're back to here.
They actually have the Pro in stock.
Wait, no, that's not a Pro.
Nevermind, I lied.
Hmm, that's just a digital only.
They don't have a price on it which is kind of funny.
They don't want you to know.
Uh $649 for the disc version $899 for the PS5 Pro
but they are out of stock.
So not bad, not bad. Let's go over to the clearance aisle.
And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to circle back
and pick up a bunch of On products for the next video,
which is going to be, well, maybe not the next video.
It depends on when it gets edited and posted.
But one of the next videos, we're going to review all the On products.
So I'm going to circle the store, pick up a whole bunch of stuff.
I'm going to censor it when we leave, though,
so I don't want to spoil what we get, but clearance.
All right, we got an On tablet for 95 bucks.
We got some Bose headphones for $144.
We got a charger for $10.
bucks.
What else they got over here, what else they got?
USB headset, USB microphone.
They do not package that well though.
Too much movement in the box.
The person who ships out my products for me, they know.
The number one rule, my biggest pet peeve, don't.
Like when you shake the box,
it shouldn't have any movement in it.
The person?
Look, portable CD boom box, that's kinda cool.
I like how they're still making stuff like this, you know?
Kind of warms my heart, my old retro, retro tech heart.
They're still making boom boxes and CD players.
Cool.
All right guys, so overall,
I think Walmart definitely beats Target out in all aspects.
I mean, maybe a couple of products
were priced a little bit better there,
but Walmart basically has everything.
They have phones for sale, they have tablets,
they have computers.
You can actually test them out.
Their stock is way more, they have way more selection of products,
and they also give you the on products, which is way more superior
to the, what, like Heyday or whatever the Target brand was called.
So I think Walmart is the clear W in this.
But let me know what you guys think. Do you shop Walmart or Target?
And yeah, I'll see you guys in the next video.
