Chilly overnight lows give way to a dry, mild warmup across the region

All right, time to get a first check on your forecast this Sunday evening, taking a live look across our region. A little chilly but sunny this Sunday, and we are expecting a bit of a warm-up heading into next week. But don't put your coats away. Jen Delgado is here now. And, Jen, I've got to tell you, I was out at the Marine Corps Marathon today. Amazing weather for those runners. Yeah, absolutely perfect. You don't want it to be too hot. You don't want it to be too cool. It's like Goldilocks. You want it to be just right, and today was the perfect day for it. You and I couldn't run in any weather, but for those trained runners. We can watch people run in weather. And it felt lovely. We can do that. We can cheer you on. And hopefully everybody had a great race. We love the Marine Corps race for sure. Now, what we're looking at for tonight, another chilly night on the way. Those overnight lows going down to the 30s and the 40s. But then the 70s are going to make a return. Now, the good news is you can put away your umbrella because we are going to stay dry as we go all the way through October. As we look at our temperatures across the region, we're in the 60s. 59 degrees in Winchester 63 degrees out in Dallas and 63 degrees in Quantico we do have another night that we're going to be looking at frost advisories now for uh this morning the temperatures were so low it ended the growing season in Frederick as well as a good portion of Loudoun county but these are the other counties right now they're under the threat for some frost for tomorrow morning now we look at our planner tonight we will keep those skies clear temperatures in the 50s and then after about four o'clock in the morning that's when those temperatures are really going to be dipping. Here's your view of the satellite radar. High pressure is in control for us. We keep it nice and dry. And then as we look ahead for Monday morning, look at that temperature getting down to 36 degrees in Manassas, 42 degrees in Frederick, and then 38 degrees in Frederick. Now, as we look into tomorrow afternoon, high of 71 degrees. Now, the good news is those overnight lows are going to moderate by the time you head out the door Tuesday and Wednesday morning because they'll be back in the 40s as well as the 50s so it won't be as chilly to start off as we get past tomorrow but here's your high for tomorrow afternoon 71 northwest winds five to ten miles per hour running just a couple degrees above average but we're going to flirt with the upper 70s this week and talk more about your halloween forecast and uh tonight sydney it's the last night for a 6 p.m sunset for a sunday until 2027 oh we don't need to say that again All right, Jen, thank you.
