This delicious duck egg roll is so easy to make, and a different way to eat eggs. Tamagoyaki (卵焼き or 玉子焼き) is a Japanese rolled omelette, and it is commonly served as part of Japanese style breakfast or put in a bento (Japanese lunch box) as a side dish. Tamagoyaki is such a Japanese dish. When you just want eggs for breakfast or to add to a bento box for lunch, Japanese people have to make it into a more complicated dish by folding the eggs neatly. Presentation of even simple foods can sometimes become a little elaborate. But I hope you enjoy this recipe and if you are making my previous recipe of chicken stuffed eggs - then you can use them up for this recipe :) Enjoy!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to my channel
and Welcome!
Today I'm going to show you how to make egg roll omelette.
And the duck eggs that I used to create my Easter recipes,
which you probably have seen.
I created these beautiful, beautiful jello eggs for Easter.
So I didn't want to throw away, obviously,
all the eggs that we used to empty the shells.
So today... Not shells, shells!
you see my english still needs some work um yeah
so basically i'm going to show you how to make
this delicious duck omelette roll
and it looks really cool it's really delicious and it's super
easy to make you can obviously make
this with normal eggs just replace duck eggs with normal
eggs i hope you enjoyed this recipe let's get started
so here i've got my eggs six duck eggs
but you can also use normal eggs i've chopped up a carrot
and some dill but you can use any
other vegetables that you like.
So first thing we're going to do, we're going to add some milk
and then we're going to add salt
and whisk everything together until it's nice and fluffy.
So you can also use normal chicken eggs if you want.
And I'm making a large egg roll,
so I've got six large duck eggs.
So yeah, it's going to be nice and big. So once you have whisked
everything, we're going to sieve the mixture.
The reason we sieve our eggs is to just get rid of
any proteins and any sort of bits that will
not be nice in our egg roll it's important for us to
have very nice smooth sort of omelette that we can roll
so this is why it's really important to sieve
it through and do not skip this step you see how much bits there
are left so just discard these
and we're gonna have a nice smooth mixture just like
this so now you can add your vegetables so
add all the carrots inside and make sure you chop it nice and fine.
You want the carrots to cook so
you want very small pieces.
Then add your dill and just mix everything together with a spatula.
You will need your spatula throughout
this cooking time just to mix everything evenly as
vegetables tend to sink to the bottom
so you're always going to have to sort of mix through
as you cook. Then add pepper.
You can also add any other spices that you like depending what you love
your omelettes mix everything through
and just set it aside as some of you know i have launched
my online cooking school where you can learn how
to make the most amazing cakes ever i've got level
one two and three for beginners to advanced

and unique designs we also have a
facebook community group for all the bakers that join my course
and you will have my unlimited
support throughout teaching and learning i really hope
to see you in my online cooking school and if you
have any more questions then leave the comments down below.
Start preheating your pan and I'm
using extra virgin oil spray.
You can use any cooking spray that you have. Just spray around
and then take a brush and just go around
the pan making sure all of the edges are sort of covered
because we don't want our omelette to burn
and we want it nice and smooth. Then you're going to add
the first batch. So you want to add a bit more than
in the first batch than any other sort of
portions that we're going to add
and you want to cook it on a medium heat until you start to see
that it's kind of done on the top
and this is where we're going to start folding so take your
spatula and just fold it in you might need to use
your hand just to press down on it at first
and sort of start rolling it into a nice roll
and it's going to come together really easily because
it's already cooked
and at this point I would reduce the heat to very low because we don't
want to overcook the omelette we still want it to be nice
and juicy and kind of just have a lot
of flavor and not you know you don't want
that rubbery sort of flavor once you've rolled it out
you're going to leave half of it in a pan
and then you're going to add just half of the mixture
you see we're kind of creating a moon shape
and we're going to just do the same thing you're going
to wait for the omelette to cook
and then fold it in once you feel that it's kind of done don't
worry about moving it up and down it's quite solid
and it's not going to break and if you feel like
it's spilling out it's absolutely fine as we're going
to fill out the hole with more omelette so
just add your mixture and repeat
the process pretty much until you finish with your egg mixture
and at the end once i've rolled it up all
the way i just like to move it to the very end that way
you're gonna get more mixture into the pan
and you don't want to pour too much
because you want still nice
and thin omelette if you feel like there are any
gaps just use your spatula
and move it around cover the edges and just go
around and make sure it's nice
and rolled you will see that the egg roll
will start to get fatter so it will cover
a lot more of your omelette than
before and that makes it a lot easier to cook
and a lot faster the whole process
this doesn't take very long but you have to be patient
and just kind of stand by the pan waiting
for it to cook you can move the pan up
and down to make sure the egg is cooked a bit more on the
sides and of course once you roll it the top
of the egg is going to be hot so it's going to cook
the sort of bottom bit which is a bit maybe not cooked yet
so it kind of works once you finished
with your last bit just add everything in a pan
and then just pretty much cover it we're going to
cook this for another few minutes just to make sure it's nice
and cooked and you can see I've
got a little edge there that's left
and that's absolutely fine you can just move it up and what
I like to do is seal it so you pretty much can take your omelette
and twist it onto the side
and wait few minutes or seconds more
and it's going to seal it and cook so this way you're
going to have nice and even egg roll
and then leave it in a pan for just a few more minutes
to make sure the egg is cooked everywhere.
Once it's cooked you're going to put it onto a cooling
board and trust me you have to leave it
for a good 10 minutes maybe even longer. If the egg roll is
hot it's not going to cut well.
In the video the egg roll is completely cold so I've left it for
about half an hour and it slices really well.
Like I said if you cut it hot it's going to fall apart
and you're not going to have these beautiful pieces of egg roll.
And I really like how you
have little bits of carrots
and a little bit of dill popping through it just makes it so colorful
and festive and it cuts well and there you go guys
super easy duck egg roll and enjoy it you can eat
it hot and cold you can warm it up you can have it
with any sauce that you like um i just like
it on its own it's got a lot of flavor and it's very healthy enjoy
