James Kaufman, World News Report today.
Ladies and gentlemen,
we have a large space rock in play on April 14th.
I didn't mention this a few weeks ago, but since we're three days out,
I figured I would give you an update on this large space rock.
This is a near-Earth object,
2013 GM3.
Now, that means it was first spotted in 2013.
and they've done very little work on it since,
which is amazing considering it's a large rock
between 60 and 80 feet in diameter
and it's going to fly right between Earth and the moon.
Hopefully, right?
Take a look at 2013 GM3 here.
All right, as we move into our inner solar system,
that includes Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Earth.
We see that it's pretty much on the plane of our solar system.
So there's no inclination of this rock.
This is a good thing.
The rock is large.
Well, it's not huge, but it is large,
between 60 and 80 feet in diameter.
And it's looking for a very, very close approach on April 14th.
Now, they have a big window of time there.
I've never seen them have such a big window of time,
i.e. the plus or minus, and it's pretty much,
well, I don't understand it, except for the fact
that they haven't done any additional work
on this rock for whatever reason. Very strange.
I'm going to move it up a couple of days to the 14th.
You can see it joining Earth down here,
and this is going to be the 13th,
and for whatever reason, it will not go to the 14th.
Set the day of impact
and see how close it is the day before the closed shave.
Again, 2013 GM3 moving, well, only about 7.4 kilometers
per second, but a very large rock.
Obviously, if it comes to our atmosphere,
it's going to, well, become a meteorite.
meteors burn up in our atmosphere
or fly by where meteorites make it to the ground of course that's
the only difference of the two let's get some
detailed information about this what a big rock
not to worry about and not update the information
on all right the solution date is way back in
April of 2021, so five years ago, and they haven't looked
at the rock since then. You can see it was
first observed in 2013.
It was only observed for, well, it looks like about 12 days,
61 total observations. That arc spanned 12 days.
The condition code is a 7, which is very, well,
it's a high condition code
which means they're very uncertain about the size and the trajectory
and where this is headed zero means they know
exactly where it's headed and how big it is
nine means they're highly uncertain
and seven is much closer to nine obviously than zero this was
first seen by our automatic AI software without it i don't think any
of them would ever be seen
and well we'll get some actual close approach
data now all right all this was extrapolated
from the 2013 viewings over that 12 day data arc
span they haven't gone back to look at this large
rock that will be flying between earth and the moon
which to me is more than a little bit strange
They actually have over four pages of data extracted here,
and we did find our close approach.
April 14, 2026, it will be flying closest to Earth first,
and then go even closer to the moon.
So here we have Earth, and it gives us 1615 UTC time,
which would be at 1115 Central Time in the morning on the 14th.
But then, and I've never seen this before,
they have plus or minus seven minutes.
We also see plus or minus over an hour on some of these close
approaches to Venus and Earth and other planetary objects here.
These are usually seconds, but they have seven minutes and 56 seconds,
give or take, plus or minus.
And we're looking for something at around 1115 on April 14th,
close approach to Earth.
And the minimum distance here
is .0005,
and those are astronomical units.
You can see the minimum distance as far as its close pass
to the moon is exactly twice that much.
let's find out how many miles that is because it's
not very many whatsoever and i hate the fact that
we have a condition code of seven
and such a close shave i wonder if they've already figured
this one's gonna hit us
or what i wanted to show you how close this could be here guys
Point 00005 turns out
to be only 4,647 miles.
Astronomically, it's two miles.
But that's from the center of Earth.
And I looked at our radius of Earth,
and y'all aren't going to like this at all.
Earth's radius, where this is really measured
from, is 3,963.1676 miles.
And let me just tell you,
the difference of those two is extremely small.
I'm talking about 600 miles.
This could be one of the closest shaves we've seen
if this doesn't actually hit the atmosphere.
600 miles, I'm telling you what, that is super duper close.
I guess this is the closest one I've ever seen.
Using our minimal distances here,
it's a total of 694 miles from the surface of our planet.
Now, that is probably going to be ending up going into our atmosphere
and probably hitting the ground here.
This is not great news.
And then it's going to make a close approach to the moon.
And it looks like that's going to be just after that
If it happens to fly by Earth about 4 hours later
So that's going to be about 3.06 central time
Plus or minus 9 minutes and 16 seconds
And that one's only going
to be 9,000 miles away from the moon
So that is really, really strange
We're using our minimal distances here
That's exactly what you get
694 miles from the surface of our planet we're
talking about a large rock all right this is
not a country killer it could be a city killer
the rock the size of this one actually blew up
in the sky over Russia a few years back
and caused thousands of hospitalizations
and broken windows in every building etc
and i believe this is about the exact same
size that one didn't well i think
when that one did make it to the ground i think that this one
would make it to the ground as well
and be as large as it is 2013 GM3 condition code 7 moving
at 7.4 kilometers per second between 60 and 80 feet
although they don't seem to care or know
or maybe they do know and they're
not updating information very strange how they wouldn't have
With a close call like that,
take a few more looks at this rock 2013 GM3.
But we can see that they have it, according to JPL's information here.
Well, folks, that is, again, about 11.15
in the morning on the 14th, about 72 hours.
And I guess we will look out and see what happens around that time.
And most of the time, these rocks have friends with them.
I would expect to see, well,
something hit our atmosphere since it's just so close of a call.
God bless, guys.

Always remember, anything's possible in Bizarro World,
including, well, let's turn on it,
by this meteor, which very well might turn into a meteorite.
