AI GeneratedThe Miami Heat have had a concerning start to the NBA season, falling 0-2 after losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons. While Giannis Antetokounmpo has performed well individually, the team is struggling with abysmal perimeter defense and a stagnant offense that relies too heavily on a single player.
It's not time to panic just yet in Miami,
but we do have to highlight and break down how this
Heat team is definitely concerning
and scaring Heat Nation at least two games through the
beginning of this NBA season.
I'm here to break down what is really going wrong with this Miami
Heat team and if they can correct it
and if we can expect those corrections to come tonight for
game three in Charlotte against the Hornets
as the Heat try to win their first game of this NBA
season now in three attempts we'll break down all
of that on this episode of Heat Digest but first
please do us a favor if you're watching this video

smash that subscribe button not only help us get
to our goal of 5,000 subscribers but stay up to
date with everything Miami Heat as we have
been doing live streams for the last two games for
Miami we cannot tonight
but we will again on Monday it's a really good time everyone seems
to be enjoying it I'm going to do as many as I possibly can this season
and I would love for you
guys to join but now let's get to it
and break down what is going on with this Miami Heat team
up to this point in the NBA season as they fall to 0-2
and it doesn't even seem possible that the
Miami Heat are now 0-2 but they played
a very good Minnesota Timberwolves team and then they play a
very respectable Detroit Pistons team now
were either of the results acceptable by this Heat
team absolutely not the defensive inabilities
in both games were horrible and I'm and I'm not
exaggerating by any means the ability the inability
to defend on the perimeter and specifically behind
the three-point line was made abundantly clear not only in game one
but then re-established in
game two as as guys like Kevin Herter and Duncan Robinson
who all of Heat Nation knows extremely
well flat out killed this Miami Heat team not to mention John Collins
and Cade Cunningham those
everyone on Detroit just flat out had the ability to go out there
and produce at a high level and
it doesn't help that they started the game five
of five from behind the three-point line as Miami
continued to shoot threes
and simply did not have them fall at least at the rate that Detroit did
Miami shot 15 of 51 from behind
the three-point line absolutely insanity look at the starting
five all five of them the low the best plus minus
in the starting five is minus 19 and there's a
pair of them with Wiggins
and Klay Thompson Bam with minus 22 Mitchell with minus 24 and Giannis
despite having 36 12 and 5 on 15 of 26 shooting
is minus 23 now before we get to the rest of the
news we do have to thank our sponsor for this video Calshi
as Calshi is the best platform to get
in on the action you can trade yes
or no contracts on practically anything the weather sporting
events gas prices everything movie release dates TV
show release dates GTA 6 release dates everything
and everything in between
and right now you can trade on Calshi for the Miami Heat to win tonight
against the Charlotte Hornets it's it's a necessity it's
a demand it's a requirement for this Heat
team to win tonight and there's
no other way around it right now they are favored on Calshi
with a 57 percent chance to win and right now a 25 dollar trade pays 42
and 56 cents again that is for the
Miami Heat to win tonight
and if I didn't mention it earlier $25 trade the first one you trade on
Calshi using the link or using the link down in the description
or in the pinned comment with the
code digest NBA you immediately get $55 added
to your account immediately when making that first
$25 trade you can't go wrong with it
but now let's get back to it and break down how Giannis is not
the problem last night what looked extremely different compared
to game one for Giannis
Antetokounmpo in game one against the Timberwolves Giannis
was dominant had 21 points in the first
half simply could not miss I believe he missed three shots
the entire game last night he got
off to a much colder start he had five misses I believe
in the first quarter could not get to the
painted area could not dominate like he did against Minnesota
that's the difference between Jalen
Duren and Rudy Gobert
but he still ended up absolutely dominating 36 points 12 boards 5
assists again that plus minus of minus 23
while shooting 15 of 26 from the field north of 50
attempted three three-point shots going one of three
and made five of his eight free throws
he added two steals one block
and three turnovers in 33 minutes of basketball overall he has not
been the problem through
the first two games now I will say there has been a few moments in
especially in last night's game where Giannis gets
to the spot just off the free throw line just
inside and off the free throw line in the mid-range area he has
his back to the basket and rather than
simply making extra pass resetting he goes to a fall away jump shot
which he missed every single
one of last night I can't stand that possession for Miami the inability
or the the lack of ability
to make an extra pass
or just one outside of one pass in a entire possession for this
Heat team.
And I'm not specifically just talking about Giannis,
but the entirety of this team drives
me up a wall.
There were multiple possessions last night where there
was one pass made the entire possession
and they end up making and taking a four shot that looks horrible.
That doesn't work out.
It cannot continue or this Heat team is going
to continue to stack up losses because the
The offensive rhythm is not going to be there,
especially in the half court.
So now, if you look at Giannis' scoring map,
I did mention the actual fall-away jump shot he took.
Look at some of these shots.
Again, he went, just look at the difference.
It's crazy.
In the paint and at the rim compared to everywhere else.
He had two points on one of six shooting from the mid-range.
And again, that was a standstill jump shot,
which he was able to knock down.
That was not a fall-away jump shot.
Free throws, he had five.
The three-point shot, again, he went one of three.
That one, he was wide open.
He was able to set his feet, get up, and shoot it.
Everything else, in the paint.
Continue to do that.
So what is wrong with Miami?
What is going on?
Well, right now, if you look at the standings,
they're the last team in the Eastern Conference.
0-2 in two games.
Again, it's very early still.
I'm not saying the season's over by any means.
It's just the way things go.
Right now they are listed as the, what is that, 13th seed?
They're above the Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Love to see that.
But again, it's not going to get the job done.
We all know this is not how the season is going to end.
And Miami has an opportunity to go out there and continue to win.
Last night they lose to the Detroit Pistons.
Today, Saturday, October 24th,
they play a basketball game in Charlotte.
They have a day off on Sunday.
Then Monday they run it back in Dallas
for a game against the Dallas Mavericks.
But what is the big problem here with the Miami Heat?
And it's very abundantly clear.
It's not fatal because the Miami Heat have been able to go out there
and compete after starting 0-2.
You guys remember the 2023 Finals?
Yeah, the Heat started 0-2 in that season.
They were able to make it to the NBA Finals despite losing that.
But then, you continue.
Everybody needs to step up, straight up.
There's no other way around it.
Bam Adebayo last night had more fouls than points made.
That is not a joke.
He had four points and six personal fouls.
Ended up fouling out of the game.
4.6 boards, three assists, minus 22.
Shot two of six from the field.
Missed both three-point shots.
Missed both free throws in just 23 minutes.
He had back-to-back possessions of elite defense
where he's able to poke the ball away and get the ball back to Miami.
But he also had one turnover, and it came at a horrible time.
Absolutely horrible time.
And it doesn't end there.
Klay Thompson needs to be put
in a position where he simply is coming in off the bench
when the star offensive player
on the opposing team is not on the floor.
Why is that?
Same reason of what we saw in Minnesota.
Detroit kind of mimicked it,
just not to the degree that we saw in Minnesota last night.
They see Klay is on the floor.
They run pick and roll action to create a switch against Miami.
Klay Thompson then has to guard the primary ball handler.
and it is just absolute barbecue chicken it
is just it is just absolute annihilation clay cannot
keep up clay is getting abused it's elderly abuse someone should call
the cops it's just it's just
it's just not okay it's not okay for this heat team
and they need to do something about it so
last few things to wrap up this video the first one
is going to be Eric Spoelstra's quotes there
was definitely improvement from or there
was definite excuse me improvement from game one to
game two he believes game two
was a lot better than game one obviously in the sense of difference
in score between the Miami Heat
and the opponent yeah was a bit better only lost by 17 compared to
30 still unacceptable
and i don't think Spo's answer does enough there Bam on the bio the
biggest thing for us is we always stay together
when it matters most you need to stay aggressive
is what you need to do and you need to stay out
of foul trouble you need to stay aggressive and
you need to actually be a helping hand
to Giannis Antetokounmpo in both games he has 30 plus points
and the next closest guy it doesn't even have half
the points last night last night's De'Veon
Mitchell had like 18 the night prior like
the leading scorer outside of Giannis was Bam with
like 12 or 14 points per game you need to go you need
to go you need to go because Tim Hardaway
Jr. is not getting the job done right now he shot one
of seven against Minnesota last night
it was even worse it was like two of ten
or something it was not good then you go to guys
like Fontecchio who don't play until garbage time
you got guys like Mitchell who yes you got 14 or
18 from last night but he cooled off
and only had like four points in the second half Clay Thompson
not shooting the ball that well again I believe he shot two
of ten as well like Tim Hardaway Jr.
last night it's just not working Bam Adebayo says it's
not our offense I feel like 104 points can
win a game it's the other end we've got
to lock it uh lock it on i agree the defense needs to do a
lot more but the idea that 104 is going to win you
a lot of games in basketball especially in
today's age is not necessarily accurate i mentioned it
in the beginning of the year i think there's
going to be a lot of games where miami's able to win 104 to 95
or 110 to 100 and i still think
that's true but now with the way this defense has looked
in the first two games you guys can't
guard on the perimeter when you do you overextend it results
in easy layups and drop-off passes in
the paint you're getting caught out
of position you're giving up too many offensive rebounds
it's just it's just it just never ends it's
a never-ending loop of disaster for Miami right now
on the defensive end not to mention
the offensive end outside of Giannis it feels like no one's
scoring the basketball Hardaway goes one of seven
in the first game last night he goes two of seven
two of five from behind the three-point line he misses
two technical free throws his first two free
throws were two techs he missed them both eight
points four boards one assist forcing all throughout
the night again clay thompson oh that was a quote
from clay i played this game a long time we know
he's gonna stay confident awesome
but like what about the numbers how does he produce last night
six points two boards two assists plus minus
a minus 19 shot two of 11 all of them were three
point shots a lot of them
were forced it's just i i just i it's just it's infuriating it's truly
infuriating now to wrap up this video finally
who needs to respond more do you think it's bam
out of Bio or Clay Thompson let me know down below
if you think it's someone else again drop
their comment down or drop a comment down below
and then finally how concerned are you about the
o and to start are you a very concerned
or b not yet again let me know down below who do you think
should step up more and if you are concerned
and if so how concerned are you and i will see you
guys on the next episode of Heat Digest i
appreciate you guys tuning in and watching
