And weather-wise, we have a very nice fall weekend underway.
Our weather headlines as we head through the remainder of the weekend.
Look for sunshine, some high-thin clouds this afternoon.
It will remain mild.
For tonight, another cool one.
Relatively chilly, especially where we had
the frost last night in parts of eastern Suffolk.
You'll probably see it again for tonight.
And Sunday, right on through next week,
some fine fall weather heading our way.
Speaking of fall weather, hey,
what's the meteorological recipe for beautiful fall colors?
Well, mild days, crisp nights.
We've had that.
Lots of sunshine, lots of rain, actually,
in the summertime, and we had that.
Remember, the beginning of the summer was dry,
the end was relatively wet, and calm winds.
Yeah, the winds have been relatively calm.
In fact, we are looking at a good deal
of color now moving down from the Hudson Valley,
northern parts of the Hudson Valley,
northern Connecticut, you're past peak,
but a good deal of the city, Long Island, lower Hudson Valley,
southern Connecticut, close to peak right now.
So it's a good weekend to get out there and check out the area foliage.
As far as rain goes, very little chance out in Amagansett,
very little chance of rain all week, so that will continue
our fine fall weather right on in for the next several days.
Our forecast for this afternoon, again, seasonably mild,
we'll call it, with high clouds across the area.
Temperatures topping out generally in the low 60s for tonight.
Again, chilly, especially out east.
Watch the temperatures there in the 30s,
and a great day for the boating forecast.
Winds will be light and waves not too hard to take.
Our extended forecast, again,
dry weather continues for the next several days,
high temperatures by day in the 60s, nighttime lows down in the 40s,
perfect fall foliage turning, leaf turning weather, and yeah,
an early look at Halloween, I know it's a week away,
but right now it looks like it's going to be great with temperatures
in the upper 60s and nighttime lows down in the low to mid 50s.
So some great fall weather coming our way.
If you haven't gotten a chance
to maybe go apple picking or pumpkin picking,
all those sound like really great
activities over the next several days.
And beginning to start to think a little bit about rain.
We really haven't had a lot of rain during the fall time,
but this is a dry month.
October typically is dry, and it looks like
that dry weather will be continuing.
So great weekend to get out there for the rest of the weekend,
and next week looks great as well.
So fine fall weather, get out there, and enjoy.
