Ooh, beautiful day to be out by the lake.
Unfortunately, the Eagles do not play tomorrow,
but Monday night we have Dallas, so gearing up for that.
Happy Saturday, everyone. It is October 24th. I'm Morgan Parrish.
Thank you for waking up with us. Another beautiful fall weekend, Drew.
Oh, but a cold one. It is so cold outside.
But it felt like fresh air.
Like, I walked to get breakfast this morning, and I was like...
What? In that cold?
I did.
I don't know.
I just felt like I needed some fresh air, and it felt good to me.
Okay, so this is how Morgan wakes up in the morning, all right?
That's how I need to get awake.
She goes out for the cold walk.
You know, if you're tired, you drive, and you put the windows down.
Yes, that's what it was.
I hear what we're saying.
Well, speaking of which, oh,
we got some frost on the cars this morning.
Your car's outside.
Look out for some frost.
I could not find my ice scraper the other day, so I used a credit card,
and it worked actually pretty good
but the credit card still works so I'm in the clear there

Gloucester County you're at 40 pretty much

at some spots below freezing right now let's widen things out
the Poconos were in the 20s they're still there right now
this looks more like winter to me than
it does fall and look at all these 30s hey tis
the season for some of this cooler frosty weather
But Morgan said it best. It's a beautiful morning. Look at this.
Coming up over the Delaware River, we got that sun.
The Ben Franklin Bridge looking great.
Here's what we got for you today.
Those temperatures will slowly climb through the 40s.
We'll be in the upper 50s at lunchtime,
working our way to the 60s later this afternoon.
So let's call it at 64 for your temperature.
It's not windy today, so it is pleasant in the sun.
That sunset keeps getting earlier.
So next week we'll have a sunset at 5:59 on Sunday.
Saturday. Then we change the clocks and we get to 4:59 next Sunday.
All right, let's roll it back
on your Sunday morning this weekend.
We got more frost for you. So we're dipping back down into the
30s and it's another beautiful day.
Speaking of Swedesboro, we got some leaves on the ground there.
We'll push up the temperature just a few more degrees.
Pretty typical for this time of the year.
No wind all weekend, all sun this weekend.
So for a change, no rain. It's perfect for anything you
to do outside keep those shades handy for your Monday we
are looking good for the birds tailgating

You get to the Conshohocken Curve.
Look at this.
We've got a lot of taps of the brakes.
We've got ourselves a jam as you approach Conshohocken.
That's the exit for Conshohocken right there.
Hey, we've got a regatta in town today.
I know, even with that cold water.
So Kelly Drive, Bob Kelly Drive is closed.
We will take you as we look at that.
I'll cover that up, the Girard Point Bridge.
And I want to take you over to New Jersey.
Issue in New Jersey this morning on 73 North in Burlington County
as you head up toward Maple Shade.
This is all Mount Laurel Township right up here.
We got ourselves some downed wires from a crash
that is still blocking the left lane.
So the wires are blocking the left lane.
Just a little vibe of what's going
on there in parts of Burlington County.
Ben Franklin Bridge is looking good.
Everything else is looking good on all the major roads,
including the Pine Street Expressway and 95 this morning.
Now, Morgan, over to you.
Now, Drew, thank you so much.
Well, this morning, thousands of people gathering at Lincoln Financial
Field, raising money to support the Down Syndrome community.
Ellen is at the 25th Annual CHOP Buddy Walk, and Ellen,
it already feels like good vibes out there. How's it looking?
Always good vibes out here with this wonderful group of people.
They're tailgating out here, not for an Eagles game,
but for the 25th anniversary of the CHOP Buddy Walk.
Now, thousands of people will be here today for the event that starts
at 9:45, but registration begins at 9, so people are here getting ready.
Now, there's also a fun day inside for families.
They'll have moon bounces and games and prizes,
so that should be a great time for everyone.
This is Team Rocco.
They're an amazing group of people.
Now, this walk raises money and awareness for Down syndrome,
also known as Trisomy 21,
and some of the proceeds help pay for treatment
and care along with education and research.
That all helps those with Down syndrome and their families.
Now, the goal is to support people
and help them thrive from childhood through adulthood.
These buddy walks have raised more than $5 million
in the past 25 years,
and the goal today is to raise as much money as possible.
Now, we caught up with the lovely family, Team Rocco,
and they say this walk means so much to them
because it shows how many people care.
This is our son, Rocco, and he was diagnosed very early with trisomy 21
when I was still pregnant.
So we were directed to CHOP very early,
and they were such an amazing support to us
But it's, you know, it's so much fun for us,
and everybody wants to do everything they can to help support him.
Now, this is Team Rocco, and Rocco's team has a theme,
building a better world, one child at a time.
And I love this car here, Rocco's World.
I say we're all just living in Rocco's World, I'll tell you.
And what did you got? You had a message for everybody, right?
What a great group,
and Rocco is adorable.
He was trying to take the microphone, Morgan,
so I said he was going to take my job.
But again, the walk starts at nine forty five
and registrations at nine.
So you still have time to come out and support a wonderful cause
and just an amazing group of people.
Sounds good, Ellen. Maybe he could just be your sidekick,
you know, like your side anchor out there in the field.
Yeah, Rocco can be my absolutely Rocco's going
to be my sidekick. Absolutely.
Oh, I love it so much. Thank you so much, Ellen.
We'll check back in in just a little bit. But switching gears here,
An investigation is underway after Philadelphia police officers shot
a man in crisis yesterday.
Police say it started when neighbors flagged down officers
near North 52nd and Funston Streets in West Philadelphia.
They're saying a man had a gun to his head
and was threatening to take his own life.
Officers tried to talk him down, but about 15 minutes later,
police say the man pointed his gun at them.
Seven officers then opened fire.
At that point in time,
the officers immediately rushed to the male, render aid.
They get the male inside of a police car
and transport him over to Presbyterian Hospital.
The man is in critical condition at the hospital.
Right now, the officers involved have
been placed on administrative leave.
Investigators are wrapping up their work
at the Olney home linked to seven missing women,
with five of the women believed to be dead.
So we have been covering this nonstop for the last few months.
Law enforcement sources say they found, quote,
a lot of things of interest both inside and outside the property.
The FBI and Philadelphia police spent three weeks searching the former
home of Eugene Horsch and his late father, Raymond R.C. Horsch.
Crews spent countless hours collecting evidence inside the home.
We were out there a couple weeks ago.
We know that they were excavating the backyard of the property.
And authorities say they seized more than a million photos and videos,
which they're still continuing to comb through.
A law enforcement source says crews found animal bones
in the backyard, but no human bones.
There's a lot of things that happened before that press conference.
One of them looks like this.
Shortly after midnight, these officers were fired upon by Eric Lewis.
Mr. Lewis had been found not guilty by a fair
and balanced judge previously
because that judge had no choice.
And tensions are rising between
Philadelphia's top prosecutor and top cop.
District Attorney Larry Krasner responding
to comments made by Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel
over a previous murder case involving
the man now accused of killing Sergeant Shane Sieber
and wounding officer Hector Rodriguez.
On Thursday, Bethel criticized
the video Krasner released about 35-year-old Eric Lewis's
2019 murder acquittal the day after the officers were shot.
Krasner called that investigation deeply flawed,
citing an officer's relationship with Lewis's sister.
Yesterday, Krasner said the public
and families deserve to know the truth.
He also claimed someone in Bethel's inner circle went
to the media after Sieber's death,
accusing two attorneys in his office of mishandling the 2019 case.
In other news, a woman was robbed
at gunpoint at Live Casino in South Philly
as she was heading to her car in the parking garage.
Just so scary.
Police say the 28-year-old
was in the third floor parking garage at Live Casino
right on Packer Avenue just before midnight Thursday.
That's when investigators say a man
in his 20s approached her with a gun
and demanded her bag. He then took off in a white Honda Accord.
Right now, police say that no one
was injured. Live Casino
and Hotel responding to the incident in a statement reading in part,
the safety and security of our guests
and team members are of the utmost importance. Our security
and surveillance teams will continue to support
the Philadelphia Police Department as they
investigate this incident and assist in any way possible.
In Burlington County, a pilot was rushed
to the hospital after
his small plane crashed just moments after takeoff. He was flying from
W Airport. A small plane crashes just moments after takeoff
in Burlington County, New Jersey.
The Piper PA-28 aircraft went down just after 9-15 yesterday morning
in Lumberton Township.
Data from flightradar24.com shows the plane took off,
circled the airport, and went down within
just six minutes of takeoff.
The pilot was the only one on board. The crash
happened on a morning with clear skies
and no obvious weather problems. What
went wrong still remains a mystery.
The plane was it was smoldering. I believe
there were some flames in the plane at that at one point. The plane is
registered by Free Flight Aviation of Allentown, New Jersey. The FAA is
handling the investigation into the crash.
Two women who got stuck in an
elevator at Atlantic City's Borgata Resort say they had
to be lifted almost 200 feet to get out.
This happened around 5.30 Thursday evening.
The women got trapped in the elevator on their way
from the 42nd floor to the casino floor.
Firefighter Brian Berrio came down through
the ceiling to help explaining the challenges
of a blind elevator shaft with no doors for easy
access. A team of about two dozen set up a hauling system.
They were able to get both women out in
about an hour and a half, although they say
the total process from setup to last rescue was around
three hours. I don't even know how many floors we sort of dropped,
but there was like a sudden drop
and like a bounce or something, right?
A crew of nearly two dozen worked to set up the lowering
and hauling system using harnesses, ropes, and other equipment.
That's scary, but glad they got
out safely. Happening today,
the head of the Schuylkill Regatta kicks off this morning.
Almost 9,000 rowers from across the country
are competing along Kelly Drive this weekend.
Races just got started about a little bit ago at 8 o'clock
and they'll run through about 5 p.m. today.
The regatta goes from 7:45 to 5 p.m. tomorrow as well.
