Fall fun for the whole family at Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark

Oh my goodness. Thank you so much, Andrew. We'll check back in for updates as well. Now, it is the season, right? You can take in all the fall colors, the seasonal outdoor activities, and still hit the water park. Yes, it's at the Timber Ridge Lodge and Water Park. We've got Jeff and Mercedes here kind of unpacking a popular breakfast item that we know you and the kids will want to eat and maybe make from your own home. Let's start with this, guys. First, thank you for being here. Happy World Series Day. Game one, anyway. that's a huge huge reason as well we're celebrating okay so we've got some food here talk to us about why this how big of an item is this on your menu well I mean it's perfect for fall you think of fall you've got a campfire you're gonna make s'mores you've got the graham crackers the chocolate the marshmallows and what a perfect way to add that to breakfast so we created the s'mores pancakes okay where's pancakes and you call them kid-friendly I'm assuming because they'll love them. Of course, they're adult-friendly, too. I was going to say. I hope the adults here can taste it afterward. What was the inspiration? Like, what made you come up with it, other than just, you know, campfire and stuff? Did you, you know, guys sit down and brainstorm other ideas, or was this the leader from Jump? Well, we recently opened Fireside Terrace, which is, we've got fire pits right outside the water park, and they're great for s'mores in the evenings, and what a perfect complement to breakfast pancakes. There you go. Mercedes, what makes it special for you? As you're back there whipping it up. It just reminds me of my childhood. Making s'mores and then adding it to the pancakes. Who doesn't love pancakes? Come on, man. I come with it. Is there something special you do to them in the kitchen? When I was growing up, I liked my edges crispy. Is that how you make your pancakes? Edges crispy, extra chocolate chips. Okay, there we go. There we go. Are we demonstrating today? Yes, presumably. Let's dig in. Let's dive right in. How do you do it? Is there anything specific about the actual pancake mix? No, you can really use your standard pancake mix, homemade if you would like, whatever. Okay, okay, okay. So we can just pick up our favorite pancake mix and then it's the add-ins that make it special. Exactly, exactly. We don't have one of those at home, though. I was going to say, yeah, uh-uh. That's a little fancy for what I have at home. Pancake dispenser. They've made it easy for y'all now. All right. They're, what would you say, like two or three inches across, maybe a bit bigger? Yeah, a little bit bigger, a little bit bigger. Okay. It depends on this. You get like our big mousse, which is like triple the size. Okay, so you can order a bigger one if you really want to have something the size of your head, right? Exactly. Oh, chocolate chips go in first. Interesting. Do you add syrup on top of all of this? We do. Do you? Okay, because there's not nearly enough sugar in the pan. With the s'mores, too, once it melts and everything, or once it creates a s'more effect, once it melts and everything, I bet you guys get kids bouncing off the wall. Oh, yeah, I can only imagine. That's okay, because they're in a water park. Yeah, we're the perfect playground for that. We've got 50,000 square foot of indoor water park space. I mean, it's such a Wisconsin thing, too. Obviously, we're kind of the world capital for water parks, whether it's the Dells or Lake Geneva or wherever. And it's so nice in our Wisconsin winters to be able to do something like this inside. Absolutely. It's a great location. We're located right on the Grand Geneva campus. So, in the winter, we've got our ski hill open, which is a great experience to learn skiing or snowboarding. And then warm up in the water park where it's always 85 degrees and sunny. Right. Your apres ski can be in a swimsuit. Absolutely. It's got to be a different take right there. I like this. And games and stuff. We're seeing the B-roll right here, right? Yeah, we've got a great arcade. A little bowling. A little mini bowling action. There's a lot to do for the whole family. I like this. Okay, you guys also have what is called Dad's Day Off Blonde Ale. Yeah. How does this taste? So that's one of our amber lagers, and that's a partnership that we've done with Deusterbeck's, a local brewery by us. Oh, now you're pouring right in, I believe. Absolutely. And then I think we got your picture on the front of that can. Are you being funny? Are you serious? Yeah, absolutely. I'm being funny. Oh, I was going to say, wait a minute. Let me, for a second, we've had some people come in and customize cans and stuff. So I was like, are you serious? It does look a little bit like me. Not too far off. I almost mistook you for the person on here, Rob. Oh, I love it, for sure. Now, we haven't added the marshmallows in just yet, so we should be quick, add that in here just to finish up the recipe. A couple more minutes? All right, well, we may have to check back in then in a little bit here to get the finished product, and we'll do the taste test because I just had our producer get in my ear and say, move it along.
