Christian, what was the atmosphere like today?
Yeah, it was awesome.
It's been that way all postseason.
Fans have waited a long time to be able to come to a World Series game,
so they're ready to go from the jump,
and I'm glad we could get a win for them.
What was it like feeling that energy?
It was great.
It's what you play for, and we've experienced it with them out there.
Obviously, once you take away everything,
all the pageantry and all that,
and the game starts, you just feel comfortable playing baseball
and finding a way to win the game.
What was getting that last out feeling like the last out happened?
Didn't you have to go back out there?
What was that like?
Yeah, well, it's a big credit to Trev.
You know, you have that emotional dump of,
you know, you think you win the game,
and then you have to lock it back in and make some big pitches.
You know, guys on second and third, you know, games on the line.
So he did a great job.
It's a big credit to him for locking
in right there and getting it done.
How about that triple for you?
And I think somebody tweeted out, like,
Curt Flood in 1964 in the World Series, you know,
first time in game one, stuff like that.
What did that feel for you?
Yeah, I mean, we were just trying to get something started, you know,
just go out there, and obviously Jack-Jack did his thing, got on base,
and I got down on the count, 0-2,
and you're just trying to fight at that point
and, you know, put a good swing on the
ball and make sure you stay in the zone
and, you know, luckily found the gap and got away from it a little bit.
Christian, what's it like to get the swing first and get that first win
in a World Series game and take the game on?
Yeah, you know, you like to, you know, get off to a good start
and, you know, kind of obviously all these games are going to be close,
but, you know, it's good to get that first one for sure.
You know, got to be ready to go again tomorrow.
Christian, what has William meant to you guys?
How he played?
Yeah, he's been unbelievable.
You know, he's been great for us obviously all year,
but, you know, since the postseason started,
I feel like he's really taken it to another level,
and he's commanded that pitching staff.
He's done a great job back there,
and obviously his at-bats have been unbelievable.
It feels like every time he swings the bat,
he's turning something around, you know, pretty hard,
and, you know, I can't say enough great things about him.
Your first World Series win for this team in a long time.
Yeah, obviously anytime you win a postseason game,
especially a World Series game, it's going to be pretty cool.
We've got a ways to go, but it's nice to get that first win.
How do you not let sleep about being able to break the ice
with Jackson, not even wasting time getting up there?
Yeah, that's just what he does.
He just goes up there, and the moment's never too big for him.
He just has to roll out a hit to start things off.
You feel after that, you're like, all right, we're off and running.
We're back.
It was nice to play again.
And, you know, obviously we had a little bit of a layoff there.
And it was just nice to be back out there on the field playing.
And, you know, great for him getting it started on a good foot.
What did you think about Miz tonight?
He did great.
You know, he went out there and did his thing.
Gave us a chance to win.
You know, that's all you can ask for.
And he's been big for us also all year.
And, you know, it was nice to, you know,
see him get that first inning under his belt.
And he kind of settled down and did a great job.
You guys always talk about, like, one pitch one day at a time.
Is it hard to, like, move on after such
an exciting atmosphere, exciting win?
like this? No, I mean, we've still got a ways to go.
Still a long way to go in this
series and obviously happy with the fact that
you won, but you've got to lock it back
in tomorrow after tonight. Do your thing
after the game to get yourself ready for tomorrow.
But yeah, as soon as you come here
tomorrow, you've got to lock it back in.
