All right, we jump right in today with Diddy's new life behind bars.
I got to say, cue up the Jeffersons.
I think he's moving on up.
He was at Fort Dix, FCI Fort Dix, which was,
but then, you know, that, you know,
things started to go sour there.
So they had to move him because he got in a fight,
allegedly, with Doodoo.
And Doodoo is the big Jamaican drug lord that kind of runs the show.
Diddy, let's just say, maybe he got a little big for his britches.
You know, he was hiring some of the guys that Doodoo counted on to do
his laundry and clean his toilets and make his pasta and all of that.
And maybe Diddy got a little too comfortable
and apparently Doodoo kicked his ass.
Now, Diddy's people are denying that that happened.
But now Diddy has moved up to Allenwood Low,
which is 155 miles west of New York City in Pennsylvania.
It's absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous.
but he's moving into gen pop no more he's
the solitary's over he's now he was you know
penalized for that he doesn't have special treatment he
is with the general population
there are a little over a thousand inmates
at Allenwood uh very i think it's look if you're
looking at it now joining us on video it kind
of looks like a library outside typical prison
inside right there, two stories, little dormitory rooms.
Okay. It's a low security federal prison.
You're looking at the tables that are screwed to the floor
so people don't pick them up and
smash them over other inmates' heads.
It's unbelievable how this, looking at a particular
prisoner right now, they come in two
and three person cubicles where they live. Very beautiful
landscape. It's like in the middle of a farm.
If they let people out, they've got rec programs
and GED classes and institutional commissary.
Here's some prisoners.
These guys don't look like real prisoners.
The ones I'm looking at look like models,
but they have classrooms.
They say it's very safe.
It's a low level of violence, but very safe.
We'll get into what type of criminals are in there.
LGBT inmates and sex offenders and these informants
and all kinds of people.
They're very safe to walk the yard, they say.
It is gorgeous.
Now, if you could get outside that fence and go for a look, it looks
like you'd go for a like a hunting trip in the Cotswolds, if we will.
FCI Allenwood Low. OK, big upgrade for Diddy.
Yeah. Low security means nobody's there's
no like shivving people in line at the cafeteria.
uh they have the types of prisoners
are drug traffickers, financial criminals, sex offenders
sometimes are in there, some violent crimes, uh mafiosos
so i think of like i just recently
watched The Sopranos, like Johnny Sack would
be in there. John Sacramoni and his wife Jenny would come to
visit him, so they get mafia guys in there, a couple
of arsonists here and there. Here's one thing they
don't have in the federal prison
because they don't allow it in federals, only in state. I didn't
know this, no conjugals. You cannot have a if you're
a married federal prisoner you that's why there's
so much uh man-on-man shower, you know, action
and and attacking because there's just no there's no
outlet. You can't like get married to some weirdo
who is your pen pal and then you just get married
And all of a sudden,
you've got a lover that you can take to one of those rooms.
Kind of weird.
But in the States, you can't.
Because what I heard is that the Menendez brothers are,
frankly, busy in there.
One of them got married.
I think it was Eric that got married to a woman
that he had become friends with through communication.
They got married and, you know, instant sex.
There you go.
So what's going on inside of Allenwood Low in Diddy's new digs?
You get $90 a week in spending for the commissary.
And what's available in the commissary?
Kind of nice, right?
It's kind of like a mini mart.
Sunglasses, honeysuckle body wash.
And that's probably the closest you're wondering.
Can you have a freak off with honeysuckle body wash?
They also have petroleum jelly.
So I think that's Vaseline.
So freak off, you know, is is on the table. And we know Diddy.
It may be a male only prison, but I don't think
that rules off the rules out the freak off could happen.
Breakfast, brunch and dinner. I'm sorry.
You can have brunch at Allenwood Low. They offer cooking classes.
There's a leisure center where you can take.
they have ceramics. They have crochet that's offered.
They have drawing classes. What is
this place? They got a barber shop.
It's open Monday to Friday from 7.30 in the morning to 10
a.m. Walk-ins only. You can't book an appointment.
You just got to swing by, see if they're available.
So Diddy can get his hair did, all cute,
you know, bingo night or whatever it is.
they offer music programs they offer guitar
lessons piano lessons music theory i mean this
is nice this is like a boarding school they got
activities outside like horseshoes be careful
you know you don't grab a horseshoe
and hit someone over the head with it they got bocce
well if you got mafia guys in there
then you gotta have bocce they got a 35 plus basketball league
not bad they offer yoga they offer spinning they offer step aerobics
are you kidding me
how great would richard simmons
be at Allenwood Low right he should have gone on a prison tour
for these guys what would they have loved Richard oh god
do i love Richard i'm just thinking about
Richard the other day looking at photos of Harry i shared Harry
but there's there's me and Richard
god Richard had a real thing for me
and i for Richard i was looking around this old YouTube
channel i used to have
and i found a found an interview in my old radio studio me and Richard
Simmons oh my god did we have fun
and he always came to play Access Hollywood Live the daytime
show i did had Richard on as a guest all the time
do we have that Harry do we have that old
interview look in the file uh if we have
the interview i remember there was a little moment
we had him on Access Hollywood Live if we have you ready to go
and Richard Simmons playing a guest
this is all this is my life i don't have a person
in my life i don't have children i live alone with
my two housekeepers and i work i get up at four
o'clock in the morning 4 30 and i work because i
believe i can beat this i believe that the more i go out there
and become the Johnny Appleseed of
health after almost four decades i believe
that people can turn this around everyone can turn this
on Richard, what kind of slob are you
that you have two housekeepers, is this you and your two
housekeepers, can you just pick up after yourself
a little bit, he's so mad anyway, I um get him
Richard, you can have as many housekeepers as you want, he goes
and it's just me and I just live
alone with my two housekeepers, and I just don't, and I do my thing.
Excuse me? You live alone with
two housekeepers?
Richard and I used to go after each other all the time.
There is an all-time
story. I don't know if I've shared it with you,
and sometimes I repeat, but if you have not heard
it, it's pretty great. We had Richard Simmons on that very show.
I don't think that was the episode.
He came back a different time,
but it was also the day we had Howie Mandel on the show, and Howie
was in a particularly punchy mood and he was going after Richard.
He was being mean to Richard
and Richard's a fragile soul.
But Howie was like, you're still wearing the dolphin shorts. You still
wear those little tank tops.
You got that little hair teased up like that. You're still, you haven't
evolved, he's saying. And I was like,
I don't think we want Richard to evolve. Howie, what are you
talking about? Richard got so upset
and we were in the first segment of the show and he got up off
the couch and he said I won't be here with him
and he walked off the set and I said oh my god I
thought we were going to continue having fun with Richard
and Howie and Howie really upset
him and Richard walked off
and down the hallway out of the studio down the hallway and into the
wardrobe room where the wardrobe gals
were you know laying out everything and and Richard when
there was a back closet and he slid the door open to the closet
and he went back in there with all
all the dresses and all the clothing
and there was a little bench in there and he sat down
in the wardrobe closet and he closed the door
and he wouldn't come out so we go into the commercial
break and I'm saying what are we going
to do, this is you just continue the show with Howie or do we
try and resurrect I say to Randy the cameraman
and to the director, uh Stephanie Medina, I say
Stephanie I need the camera in the hallway Randy can you run
a cable down the hallway let's go
into the wardrobe room where Richard
is and I'll take it back from commercial there okay Randy
grabs the cable and they have a you know a gaffer
and he helps him get him down and we get into the
into the wardrobe room the camera comes running
in and I'm positioned outside behind me is the
wardrobe closet door and we come back
from commercial welcome back to Access Hollywood
Live if you're just joining us now uh well we've had
a lot of drama uh it's been uh it's been
quite a feisty morning.
Howie Mandel, who's still sitting on set out there, has upset our other
guest, Richard Simmons. And Richard is indignant, and he will not.
He is right behind me. Behind
this door is Richard, and he won't come out.
He is in the closet and will not come out of the
closet. The irony. And so I say, Richard, Richard,
I want you to come out of this closet right now.
You have people out there depend on you, right?
There's people, they're struggling with their
weight. Maybe they're struggling with loneliness.
I don't know what it is, but something. And you,
you're their spirit animal.
You lift their spirits and you're a national treasure, Richard.
i'm not coming out richard do you realize we're
on live television right now and i'm telling the
audience is all dying for you to come out
because they count on you to inspire them now i want you
to come out of this closet right now i'm not doing it he's awful he's
so mean i said listen we will
make Howie I think Howie has an apology ready for you that's
and you deserve it but i need you
to come out no then i said this isn't going
so well i gotta get so the door is like the sliding
door he's locked it from inside i put
my lips right up against the where the door meets the
wall i get in like this and i go sunshine
on my shoulder makes me happy and i let it sit
Then Richard goes,
sunshine on my shoulder makes me cry.
I said, there's my guy, sunshine on my shoulder.
And then together we're singing and the door slides open
and he's looking at me like, I can do this.
Walk out together.
Randy, the cameraman, is backing up down the hallway and bang,
he goes through the door like that.
The gaffers are opening it for him.
And we back all the way out to the set and we return.
and we sit down and I say,
Howie, do you have something you'd like to say to Richard?
And Howie says, Richard, I'm terribly sorry.
I think I said something that was hurtful
and you're a beautiful person and I regret it.
And I learned something valuable today.
And I said, Harry, now there we go.
Richard, fine.
And off we went.
Now, how about that?
Beautiful moment with Richard Simmons.
God, do I miss that?
Oh, what a sweetheart.
