AI GeneratedHouston is experiencing unseasonably warm but clear weather with temperatures in the 80s and dry air. While the immediate weekend remains calm and ideal for outdoor activities, an air quality alert and high ragweed levels are in effect. Looking ahead, tropical moisture from Hurricane Vance in the Pacific may bring increased rain chances to the region by Halloween.
Alright, let's get a look at the forecast here
at 5:15 with meteorologist Amisha Shade.
We're looking great, Anthony.
We've got a lot of heat to do with this weekend,
but of course we've gotten a break during the early morning hours
with the pleasant 50s, even this morning.
Many of you starting off in the 50s, but as we jump through
the afternoon hours, of course those temps climb to the 80s,
and it was the upper 80s again today in Houston, all the way up to 87.
Not quite record heat. That would have been 91,
but still a little too toasty for this part of October.
84 right now, but at least it's been absolutely phenomenal.
Gorgeous, beautiful, bright blue skies.
Air is very dry. Dew points are still in the 40s.
So not a ton for us to worry about as far as our weather
is concerned as we hop into another exciting weekend.
We do have one or two issues, minor ones.
We do still have that air quality alert through this evening.
That does include all of Houston down to League City and Galveston.
And the ragweed levels continue to skyrocket.
We've gone from high levels to extremely high levels.
So that may kind of irritate you a bit as we go through the weekend.
But otherwise, across the region, it is fairly quiet,
really statewide, with the exception of El Paso, West Texas.
That's where we have the threat for some heavy rain,
severe storms, flooding.
And really, much of New Mexico is going to be dealing
with that threat over the next day or two.
However, here, continue to enjoy the calm, the quiet.
We know H-Town weather can get crazy quickly, but not tonight.
So it's going to be great weather for all of the Friday night lights,
high school football games.
Big one on the east side, we've got North Shore versus C.E. King.
Galena Park ISD Stadium, I hear this game is already sold out,
so I hope you already got your ticket.
Great football weather for this one,
79 around kickoff at 7, 73 by 9, 69 degrees by 11 p.m.
Let's talk about when we could have some changes
in this weather pattern.
It's not going to be through the weekend,
but next week we'll start to see more clouds, more rain,
and partially it's going to be due to the remnants of this system.
This is Hurricane Vance, likely going to become
a major hurricane in the eastern Pacific
by either late tonight or early tomorrow
and slam into central Mexico by the middle of next week.
it's the 12th hurricane believe it
or not for the eastern pacific not going to impact us directly
but i think by the end of next week some of that moisture
is going to make its way over into texas
and eventually Houston, you'll see as we go
into the future Friday, it's down around South Texas
and then on Halloween there it is and we are going
to have likely some enhanced rain chances from
that tropical moisture so I know a lot of us
are thinking about Halloween plans, kiddos are excited
about trick-or-treating, maybe you're making
the last minute changes or picks on your outfit
for trick-or-treating so yeah it's going to be exciting
but keep in mind there will be a decent
chance for some showers
on Halloween, thicker clouds doesn't appear to be a huge cool down
Temps may get a little bit cooler depending
on if our front can make it through here but just know
we're watching it closely we'll let you know
if any crazy weather is headed our way but right now
just plan on a few showers then
but a very nice weekend for the Texans, Sunday staying dry through
Monday. Limited rain chances for Tuesday
and Wednesday and then as we go into late next week
it's a 30 percent rain chance by Thursday
and then it gets bumped up to 50 percent for Friday
and likely that rain sticks around at least
for part of the day for your Halloween plans on
Saturday. All right parents make sure you heed
that warning there for Halloween okay.
