The Isaiah Factor Uncensored starts now.
Welcome and thank you for joining us
for another edition of the Factor Uncensored.
Just when we thought we may have had a handle
on racism in this country, it continues to fester.
This time in Albany, New York,
at a high school where students were caught on camera spewing racism.
Another opposing group of students decided to go and protest.
So who do you think faced the hardest punishment?
Let's talk about it tonight.
And joining us now here on The Factor Uncensored,
time for our favorite Dr. Angela Jones.
Dr. Jones, it was disturbing, heartbreaking to see
young kids still in 2026 spewing such racism, hate
without any restraint whatsoever on social media.
and we think okay we're becoming
an evolved society there was a time where people said oh
just the old people had to die out
the young people will take us on a new path and we still
have the same old old racism uh in our faces your thoughts
when you saw these young students
at uh Colony Central High School in the Albany New York area
on camera just enjoying themselves
saying such racist things the first thing i'm gonna say
is that it's sad that it didn't
surprise me there wasn't this shocking feeling
and unfortunately i think for a lot of people
there isn't this shock right
um when prejudice prejudice right now has become entertainment
so belonging can become the reward
for these students i mean we're talking about kids right
so sometimes the child or the children in those videos
or children around the world isn't only
expressing hate they may
also be performing loyalty to like the group that they're with
i mean you notice in the video they weren't
by themselves it has become like socially acceptable
and hey if these people are okay with it
then i'm okay with it and it kind of brings our
our moral standards down
when everyone in the room is fine with it being the way that it is
so it's not surprising that's the unfortunate part it
is as hurtful that it still happens
and and dr jones so what does that mean for us
though are we looking at a new generation of
young racists or are we looking
at just people caught up, young people caught up as many young
people, do they just get caught up in the moment, uh
that tribe mentality where they see everyone
else doing it? No one's saying nothing is wrong about it.
They'll do it. Or is this a serious
problem that we're facing? I think it's a little bit of both.
Kids don't develop their moral
universe in isolation.
They're watching adults figure out what gets rewarded and what doesn't,
what gets punished and what doesn't, what everyone quietly lets slide.
So psychologically,
this is also about permission.
If the people that I identify with are saying that the words that I'm
not supposed to say and they're laughing at it
or defend it, my internal brakes get weaker, you know
people including kids, it's just not adults, we get cues from power
when leaders, celebrities
influencers parents
and our peers violate like such social boundaries, it seems to suffer no
consequence, then the boundary itself starts
to move, right? At one point it's like if you do that
like you were canceled canceled
but now it's like oh you get a slap on the wrist, and then it also is
put on with the school only giving them like
these really small punishments, but the people
who walk out of school get higher punishments than the people
who actually did the deed, and so
really quick before you go on, Dr. Jones, let's let's explain
that to the viewer of what you just said
in this story the kids
who were seen saying the racist comments, right? Many people precede them
to get a slap on the wrist, there were a group of kids
who walked out of school because of their
behavior because of their lack of accountability
and punishment, and they received five days I think
suspension or in-school suspension, a tougher punishment
and so I just wanted to make that
clear to the viewer and you can continue on, Dr. Jones, yeah
so the the kids that actually were on
this video saying these you know horrible things one
of them had to sit out one game in sports one
of them had a one-day suspension like they were very minor right
and so it was a slap on the wrist
from the district and the school
and the students at the school were highly upset like they did a
walkout one day it was 75 of them then
when the school continued not to do anything it was like
150 students that walked out
and those students got punished at a higher level so it's almost
like, well, what do you see as inappropriate behavior,
us standing up for what we believe
that is right, or the fact that someone did wrong
and you're just like coddling them at the same
time? It just sends the wrong message.
And that's what I'm saying. These kids, they get their cue
from the leaders, the power,
the people who actually show us like this is what adulthood
looks like. If they have no consequence,
they're like, see, y'all are, you know, whatever. I'm
going to still say what I want to say.
And does that give us hope that there were young people
at this school in the Albany New York area
who stood up to this racism and said we're not going
to take it we're going to protest until you're uh properly punished
is does that give us hope
as society that there's
also that segment that positive segment of young people that that is
honestly the silver lining of this story
because it's the same age of students that said oh hell
no we're not doing that like we're not going
to accept that and there was you know hundreds of
kids who walked out saying like
this is not okay now we're looking at the the kids in this video
we're just like oh is there hope for our future yes
because the amount of kids that walked out
of that school and said no to this was much higher
so when i'm thinking about our future
i'm hopeful about our future but there's always people
who are going to test us and those kids
the video did all right dr angela jones we appreciate your time
and glad to have you here
on the Factor Uncensored we'll see you next time
and we'll be back with more Factor Uncensored
in just a moment and just to piggyback
on me one more time still to come here on the Factor
Uncensored how much do you think it costs
to protect a member of Congress who is being
publicly threatened by someone
or facing multiple threats it is tens of thousands
of dollars a month it may shock you we'll talk about it next
