Alexander Volkov Poised for UFC Heavyweight Title Shot

Let's talk about Volkov right now. So, Alexander Volkov, he wasn't happy that Josh Holtzsort of got fast-tracked to a title fight. But, you know, if you're Volkov, you know, you've got to do more and in a more entertaining fashion. Hokut kind of entertained his way into this thing. But due to the lack of depth in the heavyweight division, Volkov is sort of lurking. and if he keeps winning, he is eventually going to get a title fight because there's not that many other too many contenders. Yeah, and I mean, Volkov could be mad that both guys are in this spot because if you go back and watch Volkov versus Gane the second time, Volkov won that fight. I don't care who you are. Volkov won that fight against Gane, and he should have got his hand raised there. To me, that was a robbery. I think Volkov should be on a pretty big winning streak right now. Gane got the win there, kept his streak alive and you know now he's made his way into you know being a champion but Volkov could honestly be mad about both guys you know he'd be mad Hokut got fast-tracked and he could be mad that Gane even got put in the spots he was in because he got that that split decision win over him which i really don't think should have went that way i thought Volkov won that fight uh controlled it the whole time and you know it was relatively competitive but to me it was pretty clear when they went to the scorecards you know the the commentators thought Volkov won Gane thought Volkov won Gane to stay in the octagon after they announced him that he won because he thought he lost so Volkov really has a a claim uh to the title and he's a very good fighter i mean he's one of the biggest guys that we've ever seen in MMA a very tall guy he's always got reach and and you know length on everybody and i think in this fight here two guys that are you know very strong in the clinch um you know they basically almost triple up their opponents in the clinch so it's going to kind of come down to who wins the clinch battle uh but to me i feel like Volkov's a guy that's been there done that and overall Volkov is the one that's going to get his hand raised in this one Volkov's 37 now but he seems to be kind of hitting his peak right like he has been around a while yet he really is in his zone right now and he really has won a lot of fights in the UFC i mean he lost to Tom Aspinall you talked about the Gane fight that you think you know you say you know he should have gotten uh his hand raised and like i said guys he's he's in line for a title shot it's coming up like he wins this fight he's probably he's going to get the winner of uh of Hulk and Gane after the fact so Volkov has put himself in a good position oddsmakers are in love with him though Tom minus 125 yeah i mean it's closely lined and you know to be fair it is a close close fight i mean Rizvan since joining the UFC has shown that he's a he's a very good fighter himself i mean his debut he lost uh to Curtis Blaydes but you could argue he won that fight as well i was on blades there and i wasn't confident when they went to the scorecards i thought i thought blades lost so i mean this is a really good fight two guys that are very strong you know rizvan's got the uh the grappling advantage he could take go to that route Um, but overall, I think this fight's gonna come down to who in the clinch. And to me, I think Volkov gets it done.
