James Kaufman, World News Report Today. Iran refuses talks at any level after U.S. delegation early en route to Qatar. Iran has President Trump looking like a clown big time and says they never ask for any peace talks with them and refuse to meet with the Americans that are early en route to Qatar. Iran foreign ministry contradicts Trump on U.S.-Qatar talks. Quote, we will not hold any negotiations or meetings at any level with the American side in the coming days. Trump declared in a True Social post that talks would resume Tuesday, but Tehran is contradicting this claim. Qatar, meanwhile, has been forced to suspend most of its maritime activity as security deteriorates while shipping through the Straits of Hormuz remains disrupted and slowed at best. Recent U.S.-Iran strikes have clouded diplomacy, despite reports both sides have paused military action and believe that there is a ceasefire in place currently. Furthermore, Iran warned that it will halt all negotiations and said any further U.S. involvement in the Strait of Hormuz will escalate tensions and delay the waterways reopening. Earlier Monday, a White House official said that Witkoff and Kushner delegation was en route to Qatar for Iran talks, but it's looking like Tehran will give us the cold shoulder. Iran State News' Kaz Numan is citing Iran's foreign ministerial spokesperson, who says, quote, We will not hold any negotiations or meetings at any level with the American side in any of the coming days, directly contradicting prior reports coming out of Washington. Looks like Trump is getting toyed with big time. Bloomberg is also confirming the new statement out of the Iranian side. President Trump was made to look like a moron after he himself early Monday morning stated on social, quote, Iran has requested a meeting will take place tomorrow in Doha, Qatar. Meanwhile, Iran has spoken to several news agencies and contradicted Trump's statement with the following, quote, no nuclear negotiations have been held with the U.S. so far and there will be no negotiations on nuclear issues until Iran's conditions are clearly met. No one knows if this was a last-minute change to make Trump look like a fool, or if the people who are really in charge ever requested these talks. At this point, it's hard to even know who is calling shots in Iran. So, it seems Witkoff and Kushner will merely meet with Qatar and Pakistani mediators, meaning more wasted tax dollars and time. The entire incident has made the U.S. look desperate for peace negotiations, although the new ceasefire has held so far.
