AI GeneratedEarly voting begins tomorrow across Long Island for a nine-day period ending November 1st. Voters in Nassau and Suffolk counties can visit any early voting site within their registered county. With key races for governor and four congressional seats on the ballot, officials expect a strong turnout for these midterm elections.
Rich Aaron, this morning the final preparations
are underway all across Long Island to get dozens
of poll sites ready for early voters starting tomorrow.
We're here in Wantagh, Wantagh Avenue, just down the block
from St. Francis Church, one location where Nassau County voters will
be able to cast their ballots early again when that period begins.
This is a nine day period early voting that begins tomorrow
and times and locations vary based on county, but it runs.
Every day, again, starting this weekend, all the way through
the following weekend, through Sunday, November 1st.
Again, those locations
and those times do depend on which county you are in.
And what's different about early voting
is you don't necessarily have to go to your normal election day
of voting poll site that you're assigned.
In this case, here in Nassau and Suffolk counties,
you go to whichever is most convenient for you
at that time in the county that you are registered in.
that part is very important.
There is a lot at stake and a lot of obviously excitement here
surrounding this year's midterm election.
Here on Long Island, we are looking at some of the
biggest races on the ballot, including, of course,
governor, as well as all four representatives
in Congress for Long Island.
So you have a lot here and we're expecting some good turnout numbers,
people making their ways to the poll.
And throughout the morning today, we'll be speaking
with voters to get a sense of what matters most to them,
whether it's a race, maybe it's a
particular policy issue that matters most to them.
We'll be speaking with voters today
before they begin to head to the polls.
The deadline to actually register to vote hasn't
passed yet. It's tomorrow,
so you still have an opportunity to go and register if you haven't
done so yet, so that's great there as well.
We do already have a full list of voting sites in both
Nassau and Suffolk Counties and The Times
because again they're different.
That's already up on our website so you can go check
that out get all the information you need
as you get ready to vote.
We're in Wantagh, Nassau County, Jonathan Gordon, News 12.
