1 week in Mexico - VLOG

Hi guys, so it's been one week in Mexico, I can't believe how quickly time is flying and I am, I don't know, I don't know how I feel, I feel a bit all over the place, overwhelmed and so I thought I'll do an update, loads of you messaged me asking me like how is it going, what's happening, so I'm still living in my hotel, excuse my room is a mess, I booked a hotel for 12 days and then i thought you know i'll figure it out i'll book an apartment like i'll find an apartment and i've really been struggling finding an apartment um everything is extremely expensive i know i'm in cancun and it's a touristic area so i tried to go to like Playa del Carmen which is like the next beach and i thought okay well i'll find something there and i think maybe it's a combination of easter and lots of people are coming here but the rent is insane it's more expensive than london so in london you know i was paying around 800 pounds a month um and here it's like starting with like thousand and upwards per month it's just crazy to me um i don't have a plan right now um i'm also stuck in a hotel which means i can't really i'm i didn't realize how far the hotel is from anything so i'm really far from downtown which is like the center um so there are like not really any shops uh the food in the hotel has been absolutely awful and i'm a bit of a food snob but then at the same time the food's been horrific it's like a really bad quality like touristic food you know like burgers and chips and things like that and i actually ate only once a day for the past few days because i just can't even eat this anymore like it's so horrible um and i can't go out like um to any shops or anything like that there's not much around and but i did go for dinner like yesterday and just because i met some friends here and you know you're not going to go for dinner by yourself so it is a bit weird so i had like few dinners out um in the last week so to say the least it's been very challenging i don't know where i'm going to live in the next well i have to move out on sunday um a lot of people suggested you know to check out different areas um but then again i don't really want to go into a non-touristic area because it's not it might not be very safe and i i just you know i don't want to risk it like um so yeah i have no idea so i might be flying to costa rica um i realized that i really need to do like a yoga and meditation retreat because my job is so so intense and everything's been happening so quickly and intensely and i haven't had time to reflect and just you know breathe and i'm trying to find some sort of retreat and again here i found a retreat and i've done a couple of retreats in my life you know i've done one in india i've done just in everywhere and this is again by far the most expensive one i've ever come across for it's like thousand pounds for five days and i'm just like what is going on with mexico mexico why are you so expensive the prices just make no sense um and i think i wouldn't mind paying if it was like high-end quality but then you look at the reviews and all the reviews are like bad as well so it's like you're paying so much money and it's not even the best stuff of the best because for this price like in asia because you know usually go to asia or anywhere else you would get like luxury so i am a bit taken aback i didn't really realize the price situation here and obviously it's not sustainable for me to live here uh on these prices so i really don't know what i'm doing uh i know this whole situation is crazy and uh that's why i'm here i guess to challenge myself so i have to figure out where i'm gonna live in a few days book something and i've spent like days looking at accommodation i can't find anything um the thing is it's like i can't live in like a really horrible place like you know and i don't want to i do have a standard as well and i want to live in a nice accommodation um but yeah so that's kind of my date so far uh nothing crazy has happened apart from me not being able to find where to live and um obviously i don't speak spanish and i haven't even started learning it like i've got so many things to do and um yeah i've just been settling in jet lags you know kind of more or less wearing off now um it's a beautiful location here absolutely beautiful and i'll show you my balcony this is my room absolute mess um also it's been really windy oh there's music today there's never usually any music but yeah look at this yeah so i think it's like some sort of party today although i don't know what kind of party it is what day is it today i don't even know every day is a working day for me so i don't really have days off like you guys with weekends anyway so i'll do a quick update um i'm looking for like a peaceful accommodation yoga retreat and then to park somewhere for a while and rent out like an apartment for a month so yeah it's been uh it's been interesting uh i'll update you more once i know what i'm doing and where i'm going but um yeah so i will uh drop by and say hi uh anyway guys see you soon bye
