And if you live in Volusia County, you're going to want
to check the ballot that might have been mailed to you.
In hundreds of cases, the wrong ballots were sent to the wrong people.
So what does it mean?
Fox 35's Chris Lindsey joins us live now.
And Chris, tell us what this means for people
who want to make sure their votes count, of course.
Well, if you fill out the wrong ballot
and you don't notice when they send you the right one,
you won't get the chance to have your voice heard.
The supervisor of elections is working hard to make sure
that doesn't happen to anyone in Volusia County.
Four days into early voting in Volusia County there's already
been a few hiccups we preach
all year long for two years you know be prepared
be prepared be ready to vote the election ready
and then something like this happens
and they can't supervisor of elections Lisa Lewis says
over 300 people were sent mail-in ballots with races
for a different city there is a chance that
somebody may not have noticed
and could have completed the wrong ballot they believe all
roughly 350 voters are in the northern part
of the county specifically congressional district six
so take a close look at your official ballot
to make sure it matches up with your sample one
with that said there are some people
who haven't gotten their samples yet either
Lewis says due to issues with the vendor Fort Orange Press
those were sent out much later than
they were supposed to be i just can
not apologize enough you know uh it is something that you put
your faith and your trust into vendors to help get
the job done they're working to make sure
everything that needs to be shipped out
is by tomorrow i spoke with voters who were disappointed
some people weren't able to get those sample ballots
with more time i hope it's a lesson
learned too because it is important
to people it's just not really fair since people do
prioritize them but they're
also glad they'll still be able to submit their official ballot
I reached out to the vendor and they declined to comment.
If you haven't gotten your sample ballot yet,
you should have it within the next couple of days.
You can also log on to the Supervisor
of Elections website to access it digitally.
