Meteorologist Jared Piepenberg on this Thursday afternoon.
What a beautiful day, just like yesterday. I think we'll just
be at a couple degrees warmer than what we hit on Wednesday.
So nice to have these back-to-back just beautiful days.
Some awesome colors poking through some
of the trees off across Bryant Lake. And we haven't had much wind.
It was very calm yesterday. It was calm this morning.
Just a few ripples out there as we head throughout the afternoon.
Looking at futurecast, nothing to show you for today.
Here's this evening. Nothing happening.
It's going to be just an awesome day.
Really, really nice. Well above average.
Tomorrow, maybe some patchy fog up across the northeast.
We'll start to cloud up a little bit more on your Friday,
starting with some high level clouds
and then a little bit more cloud cover by midday to the afternoon.
Some clouds may have some showers underneath them toward
the western part of the state. Those look to kind of lift up
to the north and east as we had throughout the day.
Not expecting that for the Twin Cities.
There's a chance, but I'm really thinking that a lot
of that stays to the west and toward the north.
the next chance of showers for the Twin Cities will
be the later half of Saturday along a cold
front. So Saturday, we're still breezy. Friday's breezy.
Saturday's breezy. That cold front moves
on through, sparking some scattered showers.
Some of those will pass by the Twin Cities,
thinking the second half of the day,
by late afternoon, maybe into the evening,
depending on the timing of that front,
and if some of those showers are actually firing up
along that as well. Behind that cold front,
our weather really changes, and it changes back to
average so right now we're almost 20 degrees above average we'll
be really close to that
average high temp in the mid 50s by Sunday
which is just going to feel drastically colder because
it is today 76 the pick day it's just really nice
and bright out there beautiful one tonight
really mild for this time of year
our overnight lows look closer to what our average highs are
and then tomorrow similar high temperatures
but it will be breezy with more cloud cover and a few
showers off toward the west tomorrow's winds out of the south
and eventually maybe settling in out
of the southwest for us and gusts in the 20s for the metro
and some 30s off toward the west
still in the 70s on saturday ahead of that cold front
that sparks a few showers bringing a really
quiet seasonable sunday just coming off 74
and going to 54 that 20 degree swing is just going
to feel so much colder because it is even
though that is about what our average high is southern
parts of Minnesota, a chance for some showers.
We'll keep an eye if that includes the Twin Cities.
Right now there's a chance of that,
maybe closer to the Iowa border depending on how that boundary
sets up, but worth monitoring if you're watching
for rain in the forecast that again will be the
southern half of the state has the best chance of that on Monday
and then we just stay kind of
cooler, pretty seasonable through the extended forecast.
