The Jason Show: 'Glee' reboot, 'The Golden Life,' circus performers

Here we go. Where are we going? Let's make it a good day. Let me tell you what's going on today. We have a studio audience every day, every single day, and most days we're completely filled and it's a party in here. Today, we had a group of basically 30 people, okay, one group that they basically bought out the audience. They got the date wrong. Yeah, so our entire audience is not here except for two dudes from Canada, I love Vancouver B, I love you too, they are road tripping and they are here and thank goodness because if it wasn't for Canada we would be really this might be my favorite show in 12 years already yeah and i'm hopped up on flu medication so i'm good yeah well welcome to the old show here in Canada or not here in Canada in America and Canada anyway first up today this is an outrage no not the audience not showing up with Halloween next week candy is on our mind and it seems there is a new favorite sweet Falun that's right Aaron according to the professionals at the National Confectioners Association Sour Patch Kids are now number one they have beat out traditional favorites like peanut butter cups and my personal favorite, Snickers. As for the least popular, according to these folks, that goes to York Peppermint Patties and Blow Pops. I love Blow Pops. Blow Pops. Blow Pops are near the bottom, which makes sense because it's two candies arguing inside your mouth. That's right, yeah. Is it a gum? Is it a sucker? Thanks for laughing at that, Eric. I appreciate it. I need all I can get today. We only have two dudes from Canada here. That's right. hey and we have circus performers too that's right yeah right we have more guests on the show than we do audience members today yeah next stop worrying about trying to help your single friends find love just stop it just stop it. New research from the University of Toronto. Yeah. Toronto finds, listen to this, listen to this. People who aren't in relationships are completely happy enjoying their own lives. That's right. The people clapping right now, single. That's right, yeah. The study followed thousands of singletons over 11 years and found 90% of them were completely content being solo yep they're happy they're independent and they never get asked what do you want to do for dinner yeah my least favorite question on earth today on the show Falun's celebrity run-in while in LA and a top TV show is making a comeback but ladies and gentlemen she's making a comeback give it up for Falun hello beautiful hi i have let me say this before i shower you with love i just want to say thanks to Erin Schwaberean kabubowitz uh that's right i love erin i love i i love erin i love erin even though she only loves me on odd days of the week but that's fine yeah uh but i love erin she i don't care how much she loves me but i love erin and i uh erin did a great job filling in for you hell erin filled in for both of us a couple days ago and she made it look easy she was just like oh this is easy yeah it's just a dumb show but yeah i missed you now i will now i showered Erin with love now i will shower you with love i missed you i missed you i don't like when you're that far away from me it was too far i don't like that every time i went to my phone fallon and i follow each other on our iphone we have the find my um i i didn't like your dot across the country i did not enjoy that um okay i have talked to me such a fun story i've been waiting to tell you i can may i drink my uh my night will i'm sorry day quill yeah yeah okay i think you guys are gonna love this this is a crazy every bit of timing had to work out perfectly story so i went to visit my friend raven uh she used to live here in minnesota she lives in la now she's like a uh she does voiceover work out in la so i go to stay with her and we're like let's do a day trip to ohio which is a super cute town like an hour and half away from so we drove there we're staying the night we're doing great stuff and she's like oh I heard this really beautiful hotel in town has this really lovely bar we go to the bar we're sitting at the bar it's like a Monday night nobody's there we're chatting to the bartender a little bit and this guy comes in to the left of Raven we're facing each other Raven is single I look at this guy I'm like oh he's super hot and he's like a gray fox right so I say to I say to Raven, I go, uh, you should date that guy because he's probably rich and um because he's in Ohio at the bar, right, and Ohio is not that's not cheap real estate and so she goes, oh, I've already clocked him, I'm—you've already—I saw him in the corner of my eye so anyway nothing happens, we get up to leave, he checks her out as we're leaving, we're walking down the street and I said, Raven you should have given that guy your number and she's like, that's not what I do, and I said, you gotta be more like me, okay? You gotta be direct and she's like, this is how I am, I've always been this way, or she's gonna be in that damn survey, yeah, I go, I go, go give him your phone number she's like, I will not, she's like but if you want to give it to him you can, I said okay, she writes her name and number on a receipt, I start walking up to the hotel because we're down the street now he is walking out at the exact same time, I was like, hey, it was really dark, I go, are you the guy was just sitting at the bar? He said, yeah, I go well, I have something to give you, he's like, oh what's that? And I was like, my friend wants you to have her phone number, he said, oh, does she? I said yeah, actually she's right here at the street corner, let's go meet her, so you did not, guys hold on, we're just getting to the good part, we walk down the street he sees Raven he's like wow you are so gorgeous and she's like yeah i mean i think you're like super attractive too another woman comes around the corner and goes and goes are you setting up another date she was meeting him that's why he came out of the hotel because they were going on a date he is getting Raven's phone number saying i'll text you later we go i go oh my gosh i was like get me out of here i run across the street i leave her for dead she runs across you leave Raven for dead bye we get in the car we get in the car we watch them fighting in the street he grabs her and like kisses her and then they like walk off we're like oh my gosh a couple of hours go by i'm guessing the date ends he texts hey gorgeous let's hang out she's like nah i'm gonna let you hang out with your date but imagine though if she had given him her number at the bar we would never have seen he's dating someone else she'd be texting this guy maybe dating him while he's dating other people it was like everything timed out perfect like exactly how it should have she was like do you see what i mean she's like i am always attracted to the worst men i was like you really are you really are so and she said she was like and i will never give my phone number to someone like that again i was like yep you're right that was on me so oh you did all of that good times yeah oh my goodness it was it gave us a great story though we laughed I'm glad that it all weekend and he texted her again the next day hey gorgeous are you still around he called her gorgeous calling her gorgeous she's like the worst part is that would have worked on me had i not seen the other had i not seen the other woman yeah yeah for sure well um you've missed it i have you know i uh i don't want to re-explain it every time but i do a charity event with my radio station called project down and dirty and every year yeah every year every year we step out of our comfort zone we've been doing it for 16 years one year in four days we put on a musical one uh one year in four days uh we formed a rock band one year we ran a restaurant we joined the military this year it's called airport and we're working at minneapolis uh we're working at msp which full disclosure i do commercials for on my radio station any hoodley doodley this is all an effort in service of charity i'm raising money my show is raising money for a wonderful place called wishes and more it's like a it's like a make a wish for for kids uh and it's just a great organization and we're already at twenty thousand dollars which i'm very excited about yeah you want to donate my said it's the best candy bar in the world period and it's the coffee crisp and then ketchup lays potato chips okay uh you take a bite you break one off yeah okay you break me a piece so i don't have officially coming back look here's the dealio here's the dealio uh glee you guys know was a pop culture phenom after it premiered in 2009 and it ran for six seasons on fox well after weeks of teasing we didn't know if this was going to be for realsies uh creator ryan murphy just made a deal for a reboot that will air on hulu and disney plus now the announcement didn't mention which original stars will return but variety a good well-sourced uh trade says leah michelle is a lock uh she starred by the way as rachel berry in all six seasons yeah heather morris heather morris and one of my favorites uh court over street also say they're coming back i saw a report this morning that they're still trying to lock up jane lynch oh and if and if jane and if jane comes back she's gonna have a talentless daughter which is hysterical a talent-free daughter is how they describe yeah which would be hysterical most of the stars from that show didn't really go on to do a ton of other things other than Jane they did some things like Leah Michelle's obviously huge on Broadway but i mean like not not a ton of huge movies or tv projects after so i'm sure they're all pretty hyped to get a second go of it but what is it gonna here's my question what is it gonna be you know what i mean what is it is it and so it's a reboot so it is a continuation of this universe so are they now the teachers i don't and do we want to see that i don't okay aaron says yes i don't know i know i i don't know i i i just don't know is there any gas left in the tank also why would rachel be back in ohio is she done with her broadway career failed broadway career yeah she won a tony well there's a lot of people that won tony's that you know i mean i guess a lot of time i'm not being shady mick the way since we have an end with Reba I can tell you this exclusively Reba borrowed that outfit from producer Bjorn that's right yeah yeah yeah oh wait Reba if you're watching Bjorn wants it back by Wednesday yeah and have a dry clean and have a dry clean that's right uh let's see here Oprah Julia Roberts and Carol Burnett took part and you can watch it it wasn't just a live thing you can watch it now on Hulu again I was at the I was at the airport yesterday and I met the most delightful I met so many wonderful people but I I was working the the one of the gates and I I heard Jason Jason and I turn around and it was a delightful mother and daughter who last minute impromptu they're like they're never this spontaneous they got tickets to that show and flew into Nashville yesterday afternoon just to go to that show yeah I like when people do stuff like that sometimes be spontaneous do something crazy like that I watched a lot of it last night and then it got late so i went to bed i didn't watch the i didn't watch the ending i assumed they would do i will always love you for the end and i believe they did um but i thought they that they did a nice job it was kind of quick intros from those bigger celebrities like Julia Roberts or Sabrina Carpenter that were pre-taped that would go into mostly i think Katy Perry was there but i didn't see her but mostly country artists yeah tribute throughout let me move this we look trashy let me get this out of here we look real trashy up in We got it. We got it. Even though we just have. Yeah, I mean, I got to tell you, even though we have an audience of two today, we got to look classy. We got to look classy. We got to look classy for the Canadians. You know what I mean? There they are. Tom and Tommy. And by the way, we heard Tom and Tommy are documenting their their road trip. They're going all over the place. Wow. This will be an important chapter in that. That's right. I went to a TV show with two people. That's right, yeah. Sticking with TV. Next up, I got a chance to watch a new reality show this week. It's time again for the Jason Show Watch Club. Other shows do book clubs, but not ours. The original stars of The Real Housewives of New York are back in a new show called The Golden Life. And episode one proved Sonia Morgan hasn't changed much. Wait, that looks fantastic. This is weird, right? The chest was a little too tight. I want to show the match. Does it come in another color? But he loves the color. Well, it's kind of like... Well, you need a suntan. She needs suntan. She needs suntan. Everyone says she needs a suntan. It's so weird. Everybody tiptoes around Dorinda, but she needs to know it's not your size, first of all. And does it come in any colors? Because that color is not good on you, Dorinda. Yeah, that... Let me just say this. That was just the start of Sonya and Dorinda fighting. Again, if you guys are not in this universe, all of these women were originally on Bravo's, the Real Housewives of New York, before they stopped filming five years ago and they rebooted the shows. These are what they call the OGs. You know, I've been waiting for this. I was so excited. I stayed up really late to watch it. And I am happy to say it's good. OK, it is. It is good. It is. And I looked at a TikTok today from a TV reviewer and the guy and he goes, well, I'm very disappointed because i wanted them to do something new no no he goes all they did was take the Bravo show and plop it over to E that's what yeah take camera five that's what we want that's what we want i feel like if they changed it too much then yeah you'd be like i don't what is this give us what give us what we know what we like we want some you know petty fighting yeah and and Sonya delivers and and and let me just say uh Sonya has not changed a bit um i know Sonya a little bit I I hosted an event with her and let me tell you um when I eventually write a book Sonya will be a full chapter I mean yeah it was uh it was uh she's a trip I love her I love I love Sonya Morgan uh but Dorinda looked good in that dress here's what I will say to my dear friends at E and I know that even you don't even have to be in TV to recognize this their sound is horrible they don't know no they don't know how to sound or mic up these wives in a busy restaurant okay because they had the Kardashians for years get your old team back you can figure out sound get your i hate busting on behind the scenes people because they work way harder than us on on screen people but but sound is everything girl sound is everything get it together there samantha anyway uh Luann who's been driving me crazy lately the countess she didn't drive me that crazy in this one okay in this first episode ramona is ramona just ramona and palm beach their new setting is a character upon itself okay um it's i gotta tell you if you like OG RHONY you will like this one it's um they forget that tv reviewer this is exactly what we want don't listen to that guy it's so good you can watch it uh the full episode this pilot jeff told me is available on youtube i doubt they're going to put the rest on i just recorded it myself on e we're going to take a break we'll be right back everybody wow i gotta tell you we don't need a full audience we just need i mean yeah we just we just need tom and tommy from canada that's right yeah uh more dish now good news and bad news for tom cruise let's get the negative out of the way uh the latest movie his latest movie digger continues to be a big old bomb uh it's now been removed from more than 2,500 theaters because well because uh well no one's going uh Digger Digger is now officially officially officially considered one of the biggest flops in Hollywood history now despite that despite that Tom will soon be honored in Hollywood he's uh been picked to receive the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award Cruise has been acting for 45 years and his movies despite digger has earned 13 billion dollars yeah he's been some of the biggest movies ever digger everybody you not everybody but you look at any big stars filmography there is a turd in every basket you know what i mean there is come on kevin costner made water world for heaven's sake you know what i mean and dustin hoffman made ishtar i mean it's like you It's like every Halle Berry made Catwoman. Not again. I love you, Halle. I love her. I love her. But I'm just saying, Tom deserves it. No matter what you think of him and his antics and his personal life, the dude deserves it from AFI. Professional, has a great set of movies, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, come on. He slid across the room in his underpants. I mean, for us. I mean, you know, I'm just saying. NyQuil. Yeah. Next, hot takes from one of my favorites. Conan O'Brien is the latest star to join the YouTube show Subway Takes. Yeah, it features celebrities sharing hot takes while riding a subway in New York. Conan's first hot take is that he misses old school celebrity interviews. All celebrity interviews should be done the old-fashioned way. In a studio where the host sits behind a desk and the anecdotes are prepared in advance and the conversation is stilted and there's a band and you cut away a lot to commercials 100 agree that was the old way and we should go back to that way uh there should be a green room with lots of snacks i think our interaction should be like a little too slick a lot of fake laughter right that's what we should be doing and now cut to a guy behind a desk that's right we don't have a band though we just have Tom and Tommy that's right that's all we have yeah that's all the band we need and i don't think we're stilted my love i don't think we're stilted some days i mean we feel it you know but i love when Conan does that fake crazy laugh it's like one of my favorite things it's the best he's so good well uh you have to see this at the end of the interview a woman sits down next to Conan and the host and matches Conan joke for joke watch this good to see you how are you hi i'm good you guys know each other yes we go way back we were married a long time ago we got two kids how are they by the way i haven't visited mine yeah one's in medical school the other one's in jail but i'm sorry i haven't sent any money yeah that's okay it's okay it's okay don't worry i still love you do they really i've never visited and i never paid for their education and like the kids we had together Do they still love me? Yeah but there was we also went to UCB which is like um Upright Citizens Brigade it's like um you know where they do improv and we saw an old group we had Ellie Kemper and Kristen Schaal so Ellie Kemper is you know from Bridesmaids and The Office and Kristen Schaal does all these huge voices like in Toy Story or Bob's Burgers and stuff so that was very cool as well well i'm glad that you had a good time i had a great time i miss you even though you fake looked at that telescope i mean it's fine so much yes well i mentioned earlier that Falun had a celebrity run-in uh while in Los Angeles i have really good luck when i go to LA i've seen Harry Styles i've like dined next to him i've dined next to Adam Levine and this celebrity I saw two different times two different days at the same coffee shop so we're gonna do a 20 question game Jason where you get to ask me 20 questions to figure out what celebrity I saw okay here we go okay I was gonna start off and give you some hints and Jeff said no okay that's fair okay that's fair okay first question uh is this celebrity a male yes is this celebrity a tv star no music star no movie star yes male movie star Erin keep track of stuff for me okay no no keep track of the information yeah yeah uh is this is this a star i enjoy I have no idea Jeff, I don't think so, is this is this man old? I love it. how okay can i ask you yes people have remarkable skills and they realize they're like oh i'm really good at math i'm really good at this how in the hell did you realize you were good at this well well long story short i got a unicycle when i was six years old for christmas and then my parents took me to see Ringling Brothers and now i tour with them around the world so yeah that is fantastic do you ever i let people know that i love this i love when someone has a dream and they get to do it do you ever pinch yourself i mean you've been doing it for a while now but you ever look around you're like holy crap i'm with Ringling Brothers no absolutely every single day i mean and we have this moment in the show where we have these two huge wheels of destiny and they're incredible they're doing flips 30 feet in the air and jumping from one to the other but it's this moment right before the intermission and you walk out and all the lights are on the audience and you know it's a pinch me moment like i get to perform here with the greatest show on earth the best stage in the world and we get to do it all over the country in a new city every single week yeah we're looking at this right now okay now you you hold the Guinness that's the tallest rideable unicycle this is certainly not the tallest i was gonna say okay this is just a sneak peek of what i'm moments from putting one of the canadians on there yeah yeah it's four wheel drive you can put them on that oh it's four wheel drive right there right basically a subaru you know yeah go ahead and jump on no i oh i hear hold on hold on what's happening something bellow knock is here everybody hey look at this hey i didn't i didn't know you were coming i'm not sure okay my mom used to use me as a broom she grabbed my ankles and just And just, well, welcome to the show. Bello, say hi to the Canadians over there. I love it. If you can tell me how many Canadians we have, both of them will be here. Yeah, that's right. Two. Two will be here. Wow. Two will be here. So, bello, how did you get involved? Was this a dream of yours to be part of the greatest show on earth? It still is a dream every single day. You know, they say never work a day in your life if you love what you do. Yeah. but I come from seven generations of circus performers. My mother and my father, both sides of the family, and I'm the youngest of four. They went on their first date at the Ringling Brothers. Your mom and dad went on the first date? Yes. So you were destined. You really did have a choice. After the generations, they never forced me to carry on the tradition. They just said I had to try it for 30 or 40 years. After that, I was free to make any decisions. A little voluntold.
