James Kaufman, World News Report today.
Trump strikes the biggest oil deal in history using our military.
The U.S. takes a majority stake
in over 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan reserves.
What a deal.
Well, at least for Americans.
Trump announced the biggest oil deal in history,
made up of 17 Venezuelan oil fields,
They're said to contain over 65-plus billion barrels
of proven reserves.
The president has made it official with a Truth Social post,
announcing a deal has been struck with the Venezuelan government
for a U.S. majority stake
in more than 65 billion barrels-plus of oil reserves.
On Truth Social, he called it the biggest oil deal in world history,
which comes at, quote, no cost to the U.S. taxpayer
and which more than doubles the U.S. oil reserves.
Others have called it theft, but hey,
I only know what they tell me here.
This transaction will greatly strengthen the already growing
relationship between Venezuela and the United States,
Trump wrote in the Post.
Trump said the Venezuelan deal should bring down prices
at the pump quickly.
The average price of gasoline today,
Friday, the 28th of August, reached $4.09,
a 27% increase year over year, according to AAA.
A grand deal for American companies
to take over Venezuelan oil fields should come as little surprise
to anyone paying attention to what Washington's real long-term
regime changes aim to do in Venezuela and elsewhere.
In the meantime, Western mainstream media outlets like Axios
are still pretending in their original framing
that these developments that the U.S. is accomplishing
are at the helm of some kind of rules-based order for the world.
The U.S. has become the new pirates of the Caribbean and elsewhere.
