As the odds of the World Series,
I thought the Brewers might be a bigger favorite
than what they actually are.
Depending on the book,
Bet Crisp, 160, 150, 170,
somewhere in that range,
that 20 cents range you're coming into.
But the Brewers are favored.
They have home field.
They have Misurawski in game one.
And let's see what happens in this World Series.
But the Rays are live.
I don't think you can sit there and say,
the Rays are going to get steamrolled in four games.
I would be very surprised
if the Brewers sweep the Rays.
I would love it, but I'm going to wait.
I've decided that I'm going to wait until after game one.
I really want to see what the Brewers offense looks like
because the big opinion is,
okay, you're throwing Misurawski in game one.
Most likely Peralta is not going in game one
for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Peralta wins the American League Championship MVP.
I bet on Freddy Peralta a ton in this postseason.
The guy is absolute nails, okay?
He's been so damn good for the Brewers.
That's why I bet on him.
Sorry for the Rays.
That's why I bet on him last night for the Rays to win that game
because of Freddy Peralta.
So he's most likely not going game one,
maybe game two, but you have Misurawski.
And so you have an absolute gas can flamethrower,
MVP candidates, Cy Young Award winning National
League pitcher starting game one.
Okay, so if it's game one, here we go.
The Brewers have to win all games started by Misurawski, period.
So if they win game one, the odds for the Rays,
you would think at plus 140 go to like
$2.
So if the Rays are two to one after one game,
then I'm going to bet the Rays because then
I'll hedge a little bit and it won't cost me as much.
I am tempted just to let it ride.
I am tempted to take a position and say, you know what?
If I lose the money, I lose the money.
It's fine.
But I do want to cover my ass just in case.
And I do want to make it so I don't have to be chasing.
So I need game one to go to Milwaukee.
Now, if game one goes to Tampa, that changes a ton, right?
Now, Tampa has home field.
They've lost a Mizorowski start,
and you've got great pitchers still to come, right?
Rasmussen and they've been tremendous.
You're right.
Rasmussen, Martinez, and Freddy Peralta.
Those three are going to be problematic.
I mean, there are three really good pitchers
that the Rays can run out in games one, two,
and three.
So that's why the Brewers have to win the Mizorowski starts.
So you win that, you have Logan Henderson going in game two,
and you roll with the bullpen
for the Brewers.
I'm really excited to see.
Yeah, as of right now, it's a coin flip.
I would agree with you.
I think it is a coin flip series.
And so that's why I have to be careful.
I do think the Brewers are going to win.
But if I'm sitting here saying the Rays won the World Series,
I'm going to be disappointed,
but I'm not going to be shocked.
So that, because I agree with you, Dermdog,
that's the only thing that's causing me to
go, damn it, maybe I should bet six units on the Rays
and come in and cut my, you know,
I can right now, I can guarantee myself a six unit profit.
I bet I've got, you know, 12 to one coming in on the Brewers.
i can bet plus 140 plus 150 put six units down
on that and I'm guaranteed right I'm gonna cut
into my Brewers win with Brewers win I win six units
if the Rays win I win eight units right
that might be the way I take this and I might have
to take this or maybe I just let it roll
I don't know like I think the Brewers win I
do but I'm not stupid enough to just to discount the
Rays the way they're playing
and how well they've played all year it would be the most unassuming
championship that I can remember maybe dating back
to the 2018 World Series for the Red Sox
where nobody saw it coming and nobody talked about it
and it was the biggest like yawn championship
no one gave a flip about it except
for Boston people it was the you know Shane Victorino
championship that everybody forgets that Boston won
in 2018 like they talk about 04 07 and 13
like oh my god they won those champs
and it's like oh by the way they won it in 18 as well
And people are like, oh ----, right.
They won it in 18 because nobody remembers they won it in 18.
This would be like that for the Rays.
If they win it, we're going to have to remind ourselves, oh, right
The Rays won the championship in 26
It would be their first championship,
but it would be the most unassuming championship
It would be the quietest championship in quite some memory.
