World’s #1 doorframe pull-up bar? Is it WORTH IT?

Today, I'm going to be reviewing a product for you guys, a product that I personally love, a doorframe pull-up bar, the DuoDynamic Elevia. And I've been using this thing for over a year. I've done videos using it, but I've never done a full-blown review. So I'm going to show you guys what this thing is all about, how it attaches to the doorframe, and how I think it's better than all the rest of the door frames like some of the cheaper versions out there that might still get the job done but I'm gonna explain why I think the DuoDynamic one is far superior now first things first this is literally the box that it comes in it's super small super compact and the really cool part is once you open it it's already set up and ready to go i'll show you guys exactly what i mean so they come packaged like this i've got one that's already open but there's no assembly required as soon as you take it out you can throw it up on your door frame and get to work now this is the Elevia right this is the piece that goes onto your door it comes with two of these and these open up go up and latch onto the door frame and they come with these handles here so they're kind of free floating handles the cool part about this product is obviously the compact design really nice you can throw it in a backpack take it with you to work take it with you on your travels to the hotel to your grandma's house wherever you're going also this is not going to damage your door frame and what do i mean by that is this piece right here is actually a softer rubber material the rest of it is like a polymer plastic but this is not going to scuff or scratch or damage the doorframe because it's softer than the doorframe and still hold on without slipping without falling off the guys who designed it both Jack and Taras i know them both they are both engineers they've been engineers for like 20 years these guys know what they're doing and they went through several iterations before they got to this a lot of testing a lot of trial and error and this the ultimate result of all their work and this thing i'm gonna tell you right now is amazing i'll show you guys how it goes up on the door frame and uh show you how it works and we'll do some pull-ups and i'll show you some different exercises that you can do with just this alone and then we'll get into all the bonuses that this thing offers now as you can see i've already got one up above me right here so that's one of them right there just goes right onto the door frame so this piece opens up and latches right on to the door frame i'll show you guys what that looks like open it with the little spring loaded spring they have here throw it up and let it come right back down and this thing is not going anywhere um it's rated up to 250 pounds however jack the one of the creators did test it and they um attached it to a makeshift door frame they created and i think it held like up to 500 pounds without slipping now obviously your door frame itself may not hold that type of resistance but that just goes to show you the ingenuity the design that went into this thing to show how sturdy it is and i mean i have tried to make this thing slip i'm sitting here doing explosive pull-ups i'm yanking on it and it does not slip so if you're worried about you know those fail videos you may have seen with one of these things it is not going to happen this thing is not coming off of that door frame if you spend a little extra money that money goes a long way quality does matter now one of the cool features about it also right is they're free floating so you can move it in have it close for you know your close grip pull-ups here you can go as wide as the door frame could go for wider pull-ups here overall great design super versatile in the fact that you can play with it now i'm going to show you guys a few different ways you can do pull-ups with it ways that i like to use it ways that you can use it rather than just doing the same thing over and over on it now you can do your standard wide grip pull-ups here you can do neutral grip you can actually grab the piece itself pull here and then obviously move it around and slide it to the inside slide it to the outside now another cool feature about it is if you're someone who's a beginner and you're struggling with pull-ups you can use a resistance band with this thing so two ways to use the band that i like with this product one is you just loop the band through one of them make a knot and then all you're going to do is just have the band assisted grab your bar and you do band assisted pull-ups right in your doorway. Super great way to train for beginners and the second way is to loop the band through both Elevias and you're going to do pull downs You're basically doing pull downs here like this and you're working your back muscles at a lower resistance just like you would on a machine at the gym. So that's two ways to use the band just on the Elevia Now another cool way to use this that I found if you've got two adjoining doors like this in a corner you can set it up for extra wide pull-ups so you set one on one door set the second one on the other door and then you're gonna do your wide grip pull-ups right here so if you've got two doors like this and the door frame that you're using isn't wide enough for you to get those super wide pull-ups if you prefer to do them that way you can set up on two doors just like this now here is the cool feature where the creators of this product kind of went above and beyond they thought about this piece and how it can be used differently with different handle attachments and it's super simple right you have these little carabiners right here and you basically undo these pull that rope through it comes right out and you can interchange these handles i'm going to show you the different handles that you can get from the same company to turn your door frame into more than just a pull-up and that is where these rings come in so essentially turns it into a gymnastics ring exercise uh slash TRX style right in your door frame so all you do is just interchange it right there and you can adjust these to any height you want and you can do your dips your ring push-ups your ring pulls australian pull-ups all of that on this same mechanism so really cool feature here i'm gonna show you what that looks like up on the door frame it's the same product now we can do our ring exercises then from here you can do all your beginner stuff your intermediate and advanced ring exercises from there straight into dips just like that you can get your whole workout in in your doorway and it's a really great way to just become more versatile with one piece of equipment i love the ingenuity that they came up with with this thing you can do so much more and that's not all there's another attachment that they created designed for grip strength and for climbers i'm going to show you guys what that looks like now these are the power holds this handle right here you can see your fingers go inside and you got to grip it just like a rock climber like you see on those gripping pull-up bars where it's like the grip becomes smaller and smaller you can grip it and hang off of it and the way that these ropes adjust on is you have all these little sections here so you can change the angle of which you're pulling on so if you want just like a more of a straight neutral you just set it in the middle if you want angled up you want angled down with even less grip you can set it there now another thing is they came up with is this magnetic little insert and it's three these magnetic inserts you just pop them right in and now you've created even less grip so now you're gripping with just your fingertips basically and you're doing pull-ups like that so i think this could be a great tool for anyone trying to increase their grip strength or like rock climbers if you want to get better at climbing and just train your you know your finger grip for holding up your body evaluate great tool here especially with these little inserts that you can pop in and out really cool design overall highly recommend this product i think it's amazing you know the fact that you can just take it with you anywhere you go i travel a lot for my work i have to go at moments notice sometimes to other countries other states i don't always have a gym available or i don't always have the time to go to a gym even in the hotel so i'll just throw these up on the door in the hotel room and get my workout in you may have even seen it in some of my videos where i'll just film it in the hotel and i use these in the hotel so overall i give this product a solid 10 out of 10 the only thing that some people might say is it's a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and i am a firm believer in that you want to go buy one of those cheap $20 pull-up bars be my guest um it'll it'll still work but you know those things have slipped on people there's plenty of fail videos. I haven't seen any fail videos with this. Dynamic is amazing. If you guys are interested, check them out.
