A full gym from the comfort of your living room
that takes up little to no space.
We are going to be
reviewing the NOD Gym.
I'm going to unbox it
and give you guys the rundown on what this thing offers.
Now, as you can see, it comes in a two-box package.
They are not very heavy, easy to move by yourself,
get it where you want it.
Now, I'm going to haul these boxes inside and do the unboxing
just to show you guys how easy these things
are to actually move on your own.
See, I can carry it myself from here through my door
Right into the room where we're gonna be using it.
You all know there's only one right way to open boxes on this channel
And that is with the axe.
It seems pretty unique
I've never seen anything quite like this bench
And I'm really curious to see how it operates
and what this thing is capable of
The only thing that looks like needs any kind of assembly
is these four pieces that look like they screw right in
I already love that. I hate
Unboxing and building products and I hate wasting hours and hours
and if you can get a product right out of the box
that works that is exactly what I'm talking about
these four knobs seem to be the only thing no tools needed
and looks like they screw right
into the ends here that's all the assembly
that this thing needs hold up hold up rewind
there were some boxes on the side of that main one
and there's actually stuff in there so
don't throw those away barbell attachment oh now
this this belt straps to your waist so you can do
different leg exercises
and different movement exercises where the weight is bearing down on
your hips versus your back. Love it.
Let's power it on and see exactly what that kind of workout
will look like. We'll test out the different attachments.
We'll see how the resistance on
these cables feels. And I'm really excited
to break it down for you guys. Now, the first thing
we're going to test is just the single handles.
I'm going to attach these to each side. It seems
very simple with the attachments. They just pop right in.
We're going to see how much resistance
this thing gives and how the workouts would feel using the NOD Gym.
I'm going to show you guys
these handles have two buttons you press it
and you feel it load the force and the machine says
force loading so it starts giving you resistance
and then when you're done with your set instead
of dropping it down or if you're like ah failing I'm failing hit
the red button and all the force
in the machine is gone I like that I like that great
for training to failure great for training
safely now the whole NodGym is powered by this smart knob here
and it's a button and a ring at
the same time so you can spin the ring to adjust the weight you press
and hold the button to go
into mode selection and then you spin it from there
to choose between the four different modes
so the first mode we're going to test is going to be standard mode
and that is going to be your
basic bread and butter mode for most
of your workouts let's see what that feels like i can
feel the resistance oh yeah and the force is constant
so the concentric and the eccentric
has the same level of resistance throughout
the movement oh that's nice you're not set to do it
in just one way let's do the math 75 kilos equals
165 pounds of resistance that is pretty wild and
And I mean, that is crazy that you get
that much power output out of this machine.
You can even do heavy lifts like your heavy squats
and heavy deadlifts using the barbell attachment.
Next, let's test the eccentric mode.
Basically, what it's saying here is the eccentric force
is twice of the concentric force.
So if we set it to 20 kilograms, right,
that means we should be pulling 20 kg.
But then on the release, it's going to go to 40 kg.
So you got to release it and it's going to be even harder to go back.
Love it. Let's test it out.
Okay. We got to set the 20 kilograms.
So I go to pull, I can feel 10 kilos and then coming back,
I feel 20 kilos. That is sick.
And it, it actually realizes when you're done with the movement.
So right now, pull, double the resistance coming back,
pull and double the resistance coming back
down. That is going to be amazing.
The next mode we're going to test is the chain mode. And this
is where the further you pull
the harder it gets okay chain mode we got to set to 20 kilos as i
pull at the very top you're getting that 20 kilograms
and then as you come back down the
weight does the opposite
so it's the opposite of eccentric mode the pull is lighter until we get
to the top heavier and heavier right there
and then we come back down and it gets lighter and
that is amazing pretty damn well
and pretty damn smooth if you ask me right here it's super light
and then as i move it up higher it throws
in that resistance that i'm looking for love it and then
the last mode is the speed mode
so seems like on the speed mode the resistance changes depending
on how fast you pull all right we got to set
the speed mode if i'm doing it slow i'm not getting
anything out of it versus i do it fast
and then i get it that's crazy if i'm down here and i want
to do a come up come up quick kind of like bracing
for that deadlift right you get set
and you go up and you feel that resistance build as you pull
and then it releases the resistance
at the top so far i am very impressed with the simplicity
but at the same time the complex things
that it allows you to do love it i want to test out the barbell
and see how that feels and then
maybe we can try the waist belt as well
and see how that one feels doing different exercises with
the NodGym and this barbell comes with smart buttons
as well that lets you load and deload the weight
we got 20 kg on each side oh yeah that's good
that feels great we're gonna test out a heavy deadlift
all right we got the force already loaded into it from the bottom
and see if it feels similar to
what a deadlift in the gym with just free weights would feel like
no different than doing it with
free weights so get set come here and not gonna
lie i am falling in love with this machine right
now let's test out the belt there is no resistance there's
no weight pulling down on my hips
force loading i feel it boom oh that is that is legit i'm
not gonna lie i might start doing this
for legs at home versus going to the gym
and then it's like oh it just did the exhaustion thing so
let me tell you guys about this feature it realizes
when you're exhausted so if you're
not moving for a while with the weight it hit
the exhaustion level as a safety feature so you're not
stuck with all that weight if you like fail
the machine realizes that and it shuts the weight off
so you can safely get in and turn it off love it
so far that was kind of cool to see that safety
feature i know i read about it
when i was going through the manual and i just saw the safety
feature live for the first time.
Another thing worth mentioning is they have an app that comes
with your Innod home gym and the app helps you build workouts.
They have hundreds of workouts
on there that you can follow.
So if you don't know how to use the machine, if you're not sure
which exercises to be doing for which muscle groups,
you can go to the app and get a tailored
workout that is just right for you.
You can check out the app, you can download it, and you can use
that to work seamlessly with the Innod gym.
Let's test this bench and see what this bench is all
about because it is a very unique design.
So if we flip it on its side here you can see we've got
four legs. So if you guys take a look here I just opened the legs
but you don't want the legs to
close on you when you're on it.
So this safety thing allows you to lock it in place so those
legs won't move. You can see the knobs
on the end there you just tighten them and then the legs
will not close while you're sitting all the way down on the bench.
So right there, it should go
all the way down. Now you have this very sturdy,
solid thing holding it together from the very
bottom. Now this bench is not going to go anywhere.
We have no resistance in the machine, right? I
don't feel anything. I got my green button right here.
I'm going to press it. Weight loading. Now
I feel the weight. So I can feel the resistance.
Oh man, that feels amazing. So you finish your set,
right you go to failure you hit that red button weight unloading
and you're done this bench is
adjustable you can raise it up and you can set it for incline
or shoulder press or any seated
exercise that you want to do and it's very easy to adjust it open
and close as you like and the seat
adjusts as well with the same fashion you got three levels
so you can put a slight incline on
your seat or keep it flat now here's a cool feature
and i really like this is this is also
storage for all of your accessories
and let me show you guys what i mean so you can open the
seat cushion you got a little pocket here where you can keep all
of your attachments instead of
having them lie around your house now you guys know i have
to test a heavy bench press with the
barbell to see how that feels
and compare it to what actual bench pressing at the gym with free
weights feels like so let's set that up and give it a go
so let's get set in place oh yeah i feel
that all right here we go it's unloading oh that felt
pretty good not gonna lie this operates just
like any other really high-tech smart gym
that you see with all the screens and all the cool
visuals just as good if not better now let's get down
to the final rating for this review of the
NOD Gym. I give the NOD Gym a 10 out of 10
because this does everything that every smart gym I've
ever tested does, if not better.
It gives you the most resistance that I've seen. It is solid.
It is built well. You can tell that the design is intuitive
and it is not cheaply made. It is
not some cheap knockoff. Overall, I love it.
I'm going to be using it. You can do all of your heavy
lifts you can do your light lifts you can
do your power training your speed training that full home
gym experience without needing a full home gym just one thing
that i always say appreciate what
these companies do when they do it
because not a lot of companies will send you backup batteries
or batteries at all they expect you to get
your own batteries to power these you know remotes or
whatever is attached these guys send one with a battery in it
and with a backup battery for it
