AI GeneratedMeteorologist Greg Majewski provides a weather update for game day in North Georgia. While the skies are clear and beautiful, attendees should expect brisk northeasterly winds and below-normal temperatures. Highs will reach around 65°F today, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s and 40s. No rain is expected for the next seven days, with a warming trend returning later in the week.
And do that first.
Our meteorologist, Greg Majewski, is live here with us now at the set
to talk about what you can expect
if you decide to go to the game today.
Well, I couldn't help but notice
the flags out there just stiffing the breeze, man.
It was blowing pretty good.
So still going to have those strong winds for today.
It was cool this morning.
We had some areas getting down in the
30s last night across North Georgia.
Oh, that is cold.
It was nippy, but look at that sky.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful day.
Blue sky, great weather.
I know we've got some tailgating getting ready to get started here.
It'll easily start arriving after 9 o'clock, and great weather for it,
although definitely a jacket morning, especially with the wind
and the temperatures out there.
Let's take a look at it right now
at the temperatures out there right now
as we are sitting at 50 degrees.
We did bottom out 48 this morning here.
It's been a lag in that east-northeasterly wind
that we saw there on the live shot going at 18.
It's a pretty brisk wind that'll continue all day for today
and still holding on to some 30s.
Blairs are at 36, Dalton at 39, 50 in Covington, 50 down in LaGrange,
and 46 in Griffin. Got that northeasterly wind
that's going to continue all day today.
High pressure up there in the north.
We've got low pressure off the east coast,
and that little low is going to cause some problems
if it turns out how close it gets to the coastline.
Could cause some gusty winds and some problems up along
the mid-Atlantic up to the northeast here in the coming days.
And our temperatures today, again, topping out around 65 degrees
for an afternoon high today, looking very nice indeed.
And, again, those winds are going to stay up a bit today,
but they should begin to die down heading into tomorrow,
maybe not quite be quite as bad tomorrow, just a little bit.
But just going to have a bit of a breeze around thanks
to that low off the coast there
coming in out of the northeast.
So, again, looking at our forecast model, no rain to show you.
I know folks have been asking about rain maybe the end of the month,
early November time frame, but you've got
this big low spinning off the coast.
One thing I'm a little concerned about here,
just kind of looking at the model data,
you know, we've got a northeastern September.
We've got a low spinning off the coast here again.
in october and then now now
the european long range showing you another one uh at the end of
october so that that it could definitely have some indications
of uh potential active weather
season depends on whether
those lows start developing close to the coast or in the gulf
and definitely something to keep an eye
on us weather geeks will keep an eye on that for sure
but uh staying very quiet here
so high temperatures today everybody here in the 60s again normal high
74 so we were below normal yesterday we'll
be below normal again for today and then overnight
Lows for tonight, again, we'll have a mix of 30s
and 40s across North Georgia.
Again, with a lot of clear skies,
things looking very nice and pretty good out there overall.
And then our high temperatures tomorrow,
maybe a little bit warmer, right around 70 degrees,
but still a few degrees below where they're supposed to be.
Normal high tomorrow is 73,
so we're kind of trending downward there a little bit.
And then the rest of the seven-day, warming up nicely.
We're back into the 70s, going up to around 76 by Thursday.
and definitely looking at below normal temperatures,
going bye-bye for a little while.
Temperatures kind of sneaking a little bit above,
but no rain the next seven days.
And obviously, we've got a lot of events finishing up this weekend.
There will be a lot of activities going on next weekend.
Right now, next weekend is also looking pretty good.
All right, next weekend looking great.
That sounds good to me.
Greg, thanks so much for joining us to talk weather.
Let's continue and get into some of our top stories this morning.
