What a DISAPPOINTMENT...

This was disappointing as the Padres drop a very winnable game thanks to some poor mistakes from some players. How bad was today? Can we recover from it? Is it time to panic? Let's talk about it. But yeah, today not great definitely not a game we should be losing especially against Cincinnati who has struggled heavily in the second half i mean sorry not your mic it's not guaranteed to sweep every single team obviously sweeping a team is hard but i just feel like if we really wanted to get back on track we had to sweep this team uh before we get too deep into to it though please subscribe as always follow us on x instagram facebook padres digest so how disappointing was today very disappointing i mean first of all we should be scoring more than three runs with a guy who had like a what was it a four some era five some 5.08 era like yes he's a lefty but we should be able to do more against them pitching wise i think Randy Vasquez did enough but there are some things i didn't love about how he pitched uh and then obviously Moore one of those games it sucks it happens but it's one of those games so what can you do it happens but i i do i'm not gonna panic because right now the Phillies are beating the Diamondbacks pretty badly uh so they already won the series which means we're still tied or are we uh in the first and the last wild card spot let me double check uh well i can just show you guys actually yeah okay no we're good we're good we're 0.5 above because they have lost three straight we lost one straight phillies are very hot so we're not catching oh they passed the cubs today i just realized that uh so right now it might be uh Padres Cubs oh no sorry Cubs Phillies we'll be playing whoever so interesting uh wrong buttons there we go uh but yeah it is not great that we lost wrong button it is not great that we lost uh first of all hitting wise part of me feels like we did enough to win but then we look at this and I'm like no we didn't no we didn't I mean there were some times where we had the score right example Ty France with bases loaded you cannot ground into an inning inning double play he did not look good today at all Tatis i don't want to say he might be back but he had a very good game and i hope he can continue it Samad Taylor our spark plug absolutely love that uh just not a great game from literally anyone else now before anyone says why wasn't Ethan Solace up it's day one you know let him get comfortable before we throw him into a situation it's fine he'll probably play tomorrow i assume i don't know when but i hope that'll play tomorrow but i just expect more you know like we had kind of this problem yesterday but we actually scored people were like what four for fourteen or something like that being off for tens is not great it's not enough it's not good enough right if Tatis is going to get homers we need these people to get on base which didn't happen and that's why we lost right now i think i said i think randy vasquez did do enough today 4.2 innings pitched maybe could have gone longer uh probably not but he did attack the zone like crazy which i like eight whiffs cool one walk cool three strikeouts whatever five fine right pretty good locations the problem with uh randy vasquez and i kind of low-key stole this tape from take from papa frank so please please please check out him on twitter francis ali pronti papa frank on twitter but uh i'll just read what he said he said dang it randy he really frustrates me velo was up he does a lot of things that are pretty good but he's allergic to throwing pitches for chase and whiffs too many times when he gets into strike counts instead of a fastball up or a breaking ball he throws a fastball right in the zone so basically he's not getting creative enough with his pitches in order to get players out and he's leaving too many balls into the zone which means hitters can take advantage of that and start hitting it which kind of happened right five hits and you can see from the expected weighted on base contact of some of his pitches like the cutter was almost a thousand 547 on the changeup sinker 359 only the fastball and the slider weren't hit super hard but everything else just was not chased was not whiffed besides the sweeper which was definitely his best pitch, 120 is crazy, slider 110 those are his best pitches but he threw it once right so like the results were fine again though Reds don't really have a great offense so like you congratulate him for what he did but i know he can do better and i'm sure he knows he can do better but it's not horrible but on the opposite side of the coin though Adrian Morejon was just bad, two walks, two hits two earned runs like you can't do that like i'm not saying he's bad now like his stuff was good but it just did not miss at all the the uh zone percentage i couldn't speak english for a second just wasn't great 50 11 like that's just not what you want from a reliever two walks in a single inning no absolutely absolutely not um now do i think Morejon's bad of course not right now i know a lot of y'all keep that same oh i how about this i want you guys to keep that same energy about Morejon that you do the other relievers on our team right like if Kyle Hart had this performance you would all be calling Kyle Hart horrible if Yuki Matsui had this performance you would all be calling him horrible but because Adrian Morejon has that performance we all forgive him now i'm okay with that i think it's absolutely important that we should forgive him for his outing it happens same thing with Kyle Hart same thing with Yuki Matsui so if i see anyone say Kyle Hart or Yuki Matsui is bad i need you that same vibe for Adrian Morifone because believe it or not Adrian Morifone has a worse ERA than Yuki Matsui and B-Rod so just saying keep that same energy because i have uh now i'll look i don't have to look for it but Kyle Hart i know is a higher ERA my point being is that Morifone it happens don't bag on him too much but if you are gonna bag on him cool i guess i mean i guess now as a day to bag on i mean you know what i'm saying right but at least David Morgan didn't screw it up but it's just not good enough that's just the theme of today it's not good enough we have to have to have to have to have to win this series tomorrow because the Yankees are gonna be super tough and i don't know if we can win that series uh so Casey Mize needs to step up i think we're playing Casey Mize right load load load yeah Casey Mize Brandon Williamson 6.11 ERA but a lefty versus Casey Mize who needs to bounce back because he had a horrible outing last time so yeah hopefully he'll learn how to throw to second base and hopefully this team can pick it up and win some games so and also hopefully we see Ethan Salas tomorrow but just a very disappointing day I expect so much more from this team I know all of you do but let me know what your thoughts are do you
