Conflicting Reports On Ashton Jeanty's Health Have SCRAMBLED MY BRAIN

It's October 15th, which is absolutely insane,
and it's been an up-and-down season for the Las Vegas Raiders,
but an eventful one, an entertaining one,
and a competitive one nonetheless.
Nonetheless? Nonetheless.
And we are now developing into a new saga,
and that saga being Is Ashton Gentry Hurt? Saga.
Because I made a video saying I don't care
if he's not 100%.
I don't think he's making the necessary impact that he needs to make.
And Richie Incognito came to my defense.
Not that he knows who I am.
He does not.
But he was saying a lot of the same things.
But there's a thousand people in my comments going,
you're crazy.
He's clearly hurt.
He's clearly injured.
Look at him hobbling.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I've acknowledged that there's a good chance that he's not 100%.
But until he's on the injury report
and until he doesn't play on Sunday,
I'm going to operate as though he's the sixth pick in the draft
and needs to play as such so of course
there's reports coming out that they may bench him
and rest him because he's injured
makes a lot of sense but then Kubiak comes out
and triples down on him being fine and that he's
going to play the saga continues
and then amongst all that we got a game this Sunday against a
Buffalo Bills team who is also a little bit hard to read
because they are four and one but they're
an interesting four and one in that so we're gonna get
into how our team stacks up against them we
got some cool graphics to check out we got
the Kubiak presser from yesterday where he talks about
Gen P there's a lot going on you need to be here
and subscribe we're inching closer to 17,000 so
you better hit that button let's get it I think it's safe
to say that my confidence is officially
shaken in the Las Vegas Raiders after two straight losses
the Chiefs loss was a pretty good loss as
far as losses go. The Patriots lost not so much.
The Patriots turned their season around playing
the Buffalo Bills, so maybe we can do the same here
as we check the markets on Kalshi. There's
also spreads here as well.
Buffalo Bills win by over 5.5 points, over 52.5%.
Buffalo Bills outright
chance to win right now sits at 69%,
which is what the market has been set at. And if I'm trading
with my head i would probably lean toward taking
that but if we purchase the yes contract for the
Raiders to win and we put a crisp 25 on it the payout is 76.90
which is interesting now look if
you're interested in checking out CalSheet you can use code all aboard
to instantly get 25 when you
trade 25 and the unique thing about CalSheet
that separates it from traditional sports books is that
with CalSheet you're not betting against the house it
is peer-to-peer trading purchasing yes or no
contracts based on the markets that the users set
and you can trade on anything from politics
to movies to sports you name it CalSheet has it go check them out
so this is a report that came out
on Bleacher Report when
was this october 14th yesterday okay it says Ashen Gent the injury
update new nfl rumor on raiders rb status ahead
of game versus bills i think this is in the morning
okay so we're gonna take you through
a timeline here raiders may rest Gent last biggest running
back Ashen Gent has been off to a disappointing start
to the 2026 season it sounds like he could
need some time to rest espn's dan graziano explained
that Gent has been hobbled by
injuries throughout this year
so the raiders will eventually give him a week off to recover
Gent has been bothered by an ankle injury since the preseason
and is now dealing with a foot injury as well.
He was questionable to play on Sunday and only got cleared
after a nine-minute pregame workout
and discussion with team trainers and coaches.
But keep an eye on the situation.
The Raiders have internally discussed giving Jenty
a week off to heal at some point.
Kubiak made it clear on Wednesday that Jenty would
be suiting up this week.
Okay, yeah.
So amongst all that, he said he's going to play.
And then here's Jenty talking about it a little bit.
Oh, yeah.
and how is that in the internal battle where
of course if you're going to get banged up and
things like that that you have to make sure that you're
also good because you can perform at your
highest level yeah i think
um anytime you sustain some type of injury that's
something that you face
and you know you can overcome that and most likely you're going to
play but i know you can't or you just you just can't play
and put it out how much focus is being
put on the ring okay so all of this you might
be saying rodney it's egg on your face it's egg
on your face. He's injured. He's injured.
I never once said that I didn't think he wasn't injured.
But here's the issue. Here's the issue.
If you are injured to such a degree that you are negatively
hurting your football team, you should not be on the field.
And Clint Kubiak is not Pete Carroll
and Brendan Carroll and Chip Kelly.
They understand how important Ashton Gentry is to this
team. And the reason I say that is because
of Brock Bowers last year. People would say, well,
they played Brock a little bit and then they held him out.
We're in week six. Brock Bowers played
like one or two more games and then they shut him down for a month.
We're in week six. If he is
significantly injured enough that it is hindering
his ability to succeed on the National Football
League stage, he should not be out there.
But that's not what's going on here. What's going
on here is that he's being evaluated
and he's being deemed healthy to play and since week one
he has not been good operating the running attack
if you are a top 10 pick in my opinion
and you're banged up but you're capable
of playing you should still have some sort of impact on the
game and he has had a little bit of an impact through the past game
but running the football
he has not been there.
And Ashton Gentry just said it's the best he's felt since week one.
So now they're going to give him time to rest?
All I'm saying is that this doesn't add up
if you have the thesis of he's injured enough
that it's affecting his play. If you think like I do,
and you're starting to get worried, is he good enough?
Then all of this makes sense.
He was banged up to start the season.
The offensive line hasn't been perfect against the run,
or against protecting the run
or developing the run game
and he's not yet as good as we think he should be.
It's okay to say that.
We call balls and strikes here.
We're trying to have an unbiased approach.
If Clint Kubiak and them are running him out there
at 45%, then it's on them.
And if the film shows that the offensive line
can't block, then it's on them
because there are a few plays that show
that Burford and JPJ are kind of getting blown up
every now and again.
Now, last week was a bad game.
We'll see how they play this week because,
again, we've got a Buffalo Bills team
who is susceptible to giving up points.
My only frustration comes from the, well, he's got to be so injured
that it's really affecting his performance.
It's like, well, then why is he out there?
What is true?
Is Kubiak a really smart person who knows how to scheme people up
but doesn't know to not play people that are injured?
Brock Bowers didn't play the first two weeks of the season,
and reports were that he actually could have
if it was do or die if it was winning it in if it
was the playoffs Brock Bowers could have played the first two weeks
and they did not play him
because he wasn't healthy
but they don't care about Ashton Gentry and they're just rolling
him out there I need Richie Incognito
to tell me what's going on here about Ashton Gentry looking
like Trent Richardson 2.0 find out that he's a little banged up
but he's he's toughing it out
right I'm like where's Washington Jr. are you still convinced
that Gentry can be the guy so
I'm not, I am not sold on him being our bell cow back.
I am not sold on him being our number one.
I think the conversation starts with the offensive line up front.
These guys have been terrible on
the run game and they've been terrible.
So let's just look at the offense. And hold on to a Gentry
because you look at Gentry last year, he goes for,
you know, 900 and something yards. He looks
explosive in clips in the Miami Dolphins game this year.
He looked, it looked like, Oh my God,
this guy's finally here. We're going to be physical.
We're going to run them downhill,
But for me, with Gentry, it really comes down to vision and feel.
It's tough when you have penetration,
and it's tough when you have free runners.
That's on the offensive line, right?
But with Gentry, it just seems like he's running with his eyes closed.
We talked about it last week.
He's not very elusive in the backfield, right?
You hand him the ball, and you say, Gentry,
you're running through the two-hole, the four-hole,
the six-hole.
He is literally just sprinting towards that hole,
and it doesn't matter if he's running
into a defender if he's running into an offensive lineman
that's where he's putting that ball when
you're special like that and you play like
that and you play in the conference that Boise State
plays in and listen Gentry had a very special college career
but i always question did does
that game transfer over to the NFL let's just look
at the offense i mean where is the lie where is
the lie i'm not frustrated at Ashton my frustration is to the people
who are afraid to say this and
who are saying he has plantar fasciitis what
are we talking again if they come out and say that
i will be the first person to put my hand up
and say i was wrong they played him when they
shouldn't have and that's organizational malpractice
but they did this with Brock
they didn't let him play but Ashton they're just throwing
to the wolves guys it doesn't make sense
watch the games like Richie said there
are times where there are free rushers that's not good
But there are times where Ashton gets the ball
and runs right into a defender.
Like he's playing linebacker.
Like right at him.
And it's frustrating.
The vision, like Richie said, is just not there right now.
And I'll keep saying it until the cows come home.
Bijan Robinson, Jameer Gibbs, and Christian McCaffrey
would not have 2.7 yards per carry behind this offensive line.
It wouldn't be good.
It wouldn't be like they look now.
But they could make plays.
And Gentry's been a special pass catcher.
He's had a couple tries.
He's been a special pass catcher.
but I'm going to fight this fight until I'm proven otherwise
that he needs to show it to me
because right now I'm very frustrated by him.
I could be wrong, but only time will tell
because the report, Dan Graziano saying they're going to arrest him
and then Kubiak coming out and saying he's playing
and Gentry coming out
and saying it's the best he's felt since week one.
What's going on?
What's going on?
Because we need a run game to have a chance
and they have a backup running back
who's really good in Mike Washington
And they don't give him a lot of carries
Because Ashton's not injured
He's not injured
If he's injured, he's injured like everybody else is injured
He's injured like Brock's injured
How's Brock look?
I don't mean to get angry
It's really not a big deal
But it just seems pretty obvious
That he just hasn't been playing as well as he should
So let's get into the press conference
Bronco won't practice today
I hope to get Jalen back tomorrow
Taking your guys' questions
Clint, going back yesterday
Looking at the film from last year with Seattle
People stacking the box against you
not something you're not used to or even using cover zero
but i noticed there was a lot of slants
and rubs would you like to see that implemented more
in that situation with your Raiders sir
uh talking about the pass game
or the run game passing game sir when when that box is stacked
using some slants and rubs
and absolutely yeah just uh yeah we don't have a JSN we don't have
Rashid Shaheed that's the problem trying to attack what
the defense gives you and there's um you know
when you're getting man coverage that's always
an option yes you talked about potentially making
some changes up front switching it up just promote it sorry
to cut you off but yes just promoting
competition and uh you know we there's whether it's corner this week
or guys on the offensive
line this week there's always competition
and you know i think that that gets the player the
players to play their best you know
but just telling someone that he's going to go this week
um you know i don't think that's fair to the Raiders
or to the player so really want to promote
competition especially offensive line in a corner
this week the corner competition between Darian
and Zeke but also how's your mod developing
and can he factor in that competition yeah he certainly
can you know uh he certainly can we're counting
on him we know we drafted him for a reason
um you know more specifically i see deep i'm totally fine
to bring him along as slowly as
possible p and zeke you know fighting
for who's going to start the game and we know
that everybody's going to play.
What do you need to see from Ashton this week during practice?
And also, with that being said, Mike Washington Jr. as well,
just to see if he gets some more reps.
Yeah, you know, I think Ashton is really starting
to feel a lot better physically.
So, I'm excited about giving him even more reps in practice
and, you know, more full-speed reps.
And with Mike and with Dylan, all those guys have to factor in for us.
I mean, think about that, too.
Max Crosby's been on a pitch count a lot this year.
Has Ashton been on a pitch count?
No, he hasn't.
There was a report this morning that there
was internal conversations about getting Ashton a week off.
I guess, is that true, and has that been a discussion recently?
He's playing.
When you face someone like Josh Allen,
with the stress he puts on his secondary,
not only for his passing, but just
his running ability, how difficult is that?
Yeah, very difficult.
You know, he's an elite athlete, elite thrower,
great instincts to know when to run.
And, you know, definitely between Cook and the quarterback, you know,
Those are two guys that can really hurt you with their legs.
What's the biggest opportunities against Buffalo
to take control of this game offensively and control tempo?
You have to find a way to run the football.
Please, God, find a way to run the football.
Yeah, well, you've got to get first down to stay on the field.
Going three and out and putting the ball back is not the way to go,
so you've got to sustain drives.
A big part of sustaining drives is not being one-dimensional,
so that's a part of our team that we've got to improve.
Do you feel like creating turnovers through the first three weeks
somewhat hid some of the weaknesses that your defense has had?
You know, I think that you do what you got to do to win the game, man.
You know, your weaknesses come out and,
you know, what the numbers say that they are,
and we're just trying to go win the game, you know.
So we're trying to improve all of our weaknesses.
That's offensive, defense, special teams.
And, you know, the other side of the ball
is going to come after what you're good at.
They're going to harp on, hey, this team,
you know, they've taken the ball away,
so they're going to protect it better.
So we've got to continue to take the ball away
and just continue to improve as a team.
Hi.
We look like we've not just been a patient game over the recent weeks.
Where do you feel like you guys can improve on in terms of unblocking?
Yeah, many areas.
You know, it's coaching, it's playing,
and, you know, at the end of the day,
you kind of go back to the basics
and make sure you're focused on the fundamentals
and not trying to get too cute with your schemes.
You know, this is what's funny about the NFL and predicting things.
If you would have told me we would have
a top 10-ish offense coming into week six,
I would have said, man, Gentry must be having an awesome year,
and the run blocking must be incredible.
It's the opposite.
The pass blocking has been great, and Kirk Cousins has been great,
and Gentry can't get it going, and the run blocking is bad.
Go figure.
You know, just give them guys a good plan.
They can go execute fast.
I know that you didn't win on Sunday,
and for you it's all about the team,
but Adam Butler is playing at a very good level right now.
Could you discuss his performance, please?
Yeah, great question.
I think A.B. just from the start has been such a leader here,
just the way that he works, the type of professional that he is.
And, you know, I think your guy's true character sticks out, you know,
when you're playing at the end of the game, you're down multiple scores
and look no further than his character,
you know, showing up, making plays.
How do you foster that competition you talked about during the week
when you're trying to prepare for a game
and there's only so much opportunity?
yeah uh well you know jobs on the line
that that fosters it there is only so many reps but it's
the nfl and you know that's why you have training camp
that's why you have the off season and we got
we got plenty of reps under our belt
so um yeah there's not there's not a ton during the week but
you know there's enough there's enough to get ready
to play a football game obviously having
Brock Bowers is a luxury on this team
but without everything he can do how much emphasis do you put
on the other receivers to make sure that they're
also equally doing their part to kind of open up
more space for him to do what he does better yeah you know
that everyone we need everybody to move the ball
we need everybody so um brock's doing a good job i think
his teammates are doing a good job and
they just they're more deserving of opportunities
so that's it's on myself and the coaching staff
of getting them in position i wonder if there
was a sneaky little Kirk Cousins and they could throw
the ball down the field
when Trey Duggar's open kind of stop there you are a film guy you love
to show your team film
so i'm curious in a loss like that one is it much better to teach when
you're able to show guys on film rather than you just talking
is that is that help you as a teacher
yeah that's the that's the best tool you know
the guys are visual you know you can only tell
them so much if you show them it definitely helps get
your point across you know that's
definitely something that i like to do a lot
of coaches on our staff like to do but
um you know you got to make the correction somehow some way
so whatever hits the players
brain the fastest you got to use that technique
but how would you assess your interior of your
offensive line play, just specifically in regards to that?
Yeah, it's a group effort. So as a group, you know, we've overall
to date, we've protected well and we've got to run better.
Do you feel you guys can get a better pass rush
when opposing teams are chipping
backs? Yeah, we've definitely been in discussion about
how to be better there. And, you know,
without getting into the details, there's things that we
are working on, yes. What's that ramp-up period looking like
for Dante this week? What are your
expectations what do you want to see
from him yeah he's just got to got to prove to us he's
ready to go play in the NFL game you know conditioning's there
that uh you know he's
you know he's he didn't have a whole lot
of training camp guys he's he's coming back from
a lot of time off but he's worked really hard
and he's put himself in position last week to prove
you know prove to us this week
and maybe next week that he's ready to go
please god play i'm not
yeah just with any player coming back
from an injury that's been out
for a long time number
one is conditioning and uh number two
is you know being assignment sound and number three
is making plays going back to knowing you like
to talk about team i have a specific player question
but about DJ Glaze.
When you watched the film on Sunday,
I thought of all your offensive line, in my opinion,
it looked like he had his best day.
Your opinion is more valuable.
Can you just assess how he's playing right now, please, Clint?
I can.
You know, DJ is, I think, one of our most consistent guys.
You know, he never misses practice.
He's always getting better, and the game is really important to him.
So I think he's becoming, you know, he's becoming a quiet leader
that can even find his voice more, you know,
because his teammates respect him, as does his coaching staff.
What was your main that you wanted to fix
and look at this week,
especially when there are a lot of things as a coaching staff?
How do you determine what your main focus
is going to be as you progress through the week?
Yes, you've got to keep it bite-sized.
If you're going to try to accomplish something,
then you've got to be very intentional about those things.
And if your list is trying to do 10 things,
it's probably not going to be very good at them.
So just trying to give them intentional coaching points
that we can accomplish each day.
So if you abandon the run game too early this past weekend
how do you assess or measure that end game when it's not working
versus keep harping at home?
Yeah, that's part of the game, game within the game.
You know, and you rely on your coaching staff
and as you're talking on the headset together
and going through strategy, you know, for each series,
and there's an art to it, and it's not perfect.
Let's go back to what you want to emphasize, the bite size.
I guess what I just said.
All right, cool.
Look, they claim he's healthier than ever, so we'll see.
um and Dante, Dante, Dante, Dante we
definitely need Dante um I have
been kind of out on Dante
but but I do think there's a world where Clint Kubek
is able to unlock him like he's been able
to kind of unlock Jack Besha a little before Jack got injured
and I'm excited to see kind of what
he can do to kind of jumpstart his career
but he needs to get out there man oh I didn't realize
that you were saying that he needs to get out there
in the worst way possible and I hope it's
this week because we are so short at wide receiver it's insane
so I think it's time for this Bills
preview I got some graphics here I'm pulling them up right now
for you this is uh we're gonna do
So offense versus offense, and then defense versus defense.
Keep it pretty simple.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Okay.
Let me move my face so you can see everything here.
And let me get rid of the topic bar.
Okay.
Three and two Raiders, four and one Bills.
Bills could be two and three, but they won the games.
Points per game.
Buffalo's offense is clearly better.
They're first in points per game.
They are sixth in total yards per game.
They're 12th in passing yards per game.
They are fifth in rushing, which is crazy
because they have last year's leading rusher and Josh Allen.
You would think they'd be an easy top three, but they're not.
Third down conversion rate, second in the league at 50%.
Raiders not too shabby.
Look, 26.4 points per game, even coming off a 17-point performance.
Total yards per game is right down the middle.
Kirk Cousins is actually throwing
for more yards this year than Josh Allen
at 263.4.
Running game we talked about, ad nauseum, 28th,
and then third down conversion rate is 14th.
Pretty good.
Cousins has 1269 yards and 12 touchdowns through five games
the run game ranks 28th uh the Bills
Josh Allen has you know the same amount of passing yards
although he has an unbelievable amount of
rushing yards he has seven touchdowns passing
and eight rushing touchdowns league best 14.2
of pass plays go for 20 plus yards look they clearly have
a better offense than us but if
If it is to be believed that Gentry is healthier,
the healthiest he's ever been,
this should improve because if we flip over to the Bills' defense here,
it's not great, really not great.
Hold on, this is bothering me, my OCD.
I just want to even that out there.
Okay, so defensively, we're not great, okay?
Not great at all, especially after the Patriots game.
Everything got inflated.
Points per game allowed were 22nd.
had 25 points per game,
total yards per game, 27th,
passing yards per game, 24th,
rush yards per game, 28th.
We are tied for the league lead with
10 takeaways and
13 sacks, which is 9th,
which means we're that opportunistic defense,
but in terms of allowing points per drive
since week 2, we're 30th.
But the Bills can be had.
Somehow they have a worse defense than us.
They're averaging 3 more points per game.
They're 30th in the league in yards
per game. They're 32
first in the league in passing yards allowed excuse me
and they and they give up about 108 yards
per game they are 31st against the pass just two interceptions
and 11 sacks that's tied for 12th 2.71
2.71 points allowed per drive that's 27
so look in both aspects the Bills offense is slightly
better than ours right the Raiders defense
is slightly better than the Bills my dad's calling
me watch this he wants to be on the channel he's gonna
be on the channel dad I'm recording my video
right now. What's your prediction
for the Raiders, Bills?
Yep. What's so funny?
Just give a score and
then you don't have to say who's going
to win and we'll just have to guess.
Bills by six. A couple
field goals. I'm not there yet.
I haven't gotten to that part of the video, but I'll call you later.
I'm recording my video right now. I'll call you later.
Goodbye. He's continuing to have a
conversation with me. I mean, what are we doing?
What do I want to eat? I'm working. Where was I?
Bills by six feels right, I think he's right about
that um I'll go oh man five and a half point
underdogs, Gentry's the healthiest he's ever
been, defense needs to wake up fast I don't see us
winning this game although a couple balls bounce your way
and all of a sudden you're back on track
and you're four and two I think we could beat the Rams
and get back to above 500 I think we're
gonna fall to three and three I'll say 31-21 Bills over Raiders I hate
to say it but look we're
