Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe morning begins with fog and a dreary atmosphere, but sunshine will bring warmth by midday. A cold front arriving late today will trigger gusty showers and potential severe storms, particularly between D.C. and Philadelphia. Temperatures will drop sharply tomorrow, ushering in a cool, fall-like pattern for the weekend and next week.
Welcome back. Coming up on 646 right now with your time.
As you can see right behind my graphic, that's a live look
into downtown and there is a little bit of a haze in the sky.
That's a fog that's kind of engulfed a good part of the area
and you'll likely be dealing with on your morning commute.
Although it's not that dense, it kind of acts as a mist in some spots.
So going to feel very dreary and wet out there this morning,
but that won't last all day long.
It will hold temperatures down for most of this morning before we get
that sunshine out and that will help warm us up.
A couple of showers out there early on today. In addition to that fog,
regardless it's not exactly going to be the prettiest morning
but as that cold front kind
of closes in on us it's going to bring us some changes over
the course of today so the forecast
is going to go to kind of all over
the place we'll warm up around midday once we get that sun out
there and that's pretty much where we'll
be for the most of the afternoon if you have outdoor
plans the earlier period of the afternoon
is going to be your best bet for anything outside
and then after 5 p.m we're watching for the chance
for some gusty showers and some storms that could
roll through with that front.
It'll be slow moving, so I do think some of that may linger
overnight and into early,
very early tomorrow morning before we dry out for the remainder of
the weekend. A slight risk for severe weather
from D.C. and points northward up through
Philadelphia, so just a heads up,
main concern will be damaging wind gusts with that strong
gusty line of showers or storms that rolls through.
83 degrees for the high temperature
today. Tomorrow, completely different.
It'll be much cooler and also kind of breezy, too,
with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
Much cooler as we go into Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Temperatures outside of the city could
drop into the 30s for most of you.
And then we'll keep that fall-like air
in the forecast throughout next week
with overnight lows in the 40s.
I do think we'll get a lot of leaves
changing out there, especially next week.
Anytime?
News 648, taking a look here in Woodbridge, 95 northbound.
Looking at a crash after 123 that has moved over to the left shoulder.
So getting better in terms of your delays there.
It's about 30 minutes right now.
Woodbridge to Springfield for that 14-mile stretch.
Looking through Bethesda, where you're definitely seeing
a red zone this morning on the inner loop of the Beltway.
That crash before Maryland 355 has the left lane and shoulder blocked.
You can see right here, of course,
a couple of brake lights this morning.
About 12 minutes into Lacey, you'll see there.
On the outer loop of the Beltway,
this is your top side between 95 and Georgia.
Always seeing that increase.
Starting to see it as well this morning
at about 13 minutes between the two.
And then finally, on the inner loop of the Beltway,
this portion between Branch Avenue and I-295.
Starting to see that increase there.
You're always going to see some congestion here in our traffic camera.
It's about 22 minutes up Branch Avenue towards I-295.
Back to you, Marissa.
