Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis news broadcast focuses on the Milwaukee Brewers' dominant run in the NLCS as they edge closer to the World Series, alongside critical weather warnings for rain and freezing temperatures. The coverage also highlights local autumn festivities at Bassie's Farm, regional crime reports, updates on the Wisconsin Elections Commission, and an upcoming Zach Bryan concert at Lambeau Field.
Good morning, everybody. Happy Thursday.
Yeah, no, it took me a minute, too.
Are the brewers throwing off your days?
Like, every day feels like Friday in the best way.
Yes, it's that Friday energy. You wake up, you're so excited.
Yeah.
You know, we keep on winning, but then you're like,
oh, wait, no, I need to go to work.
Because, like, we're hanging out. Like,
I don't normally hang out this much during the week.
Right.
Like, we're hanging out on school nights.
People are outside at watch parties, just, you know, hanging out.
At, like, 10 p.m.
Exactly. We've been doing a lot of it outside
because the weather's been very nice until today.
That kind of changes up a little bit.
You can see this is our Story City Iowa cam,
off to our south and west, obviously.
And it is very wet there. We're about to look like that.
But for the moment, we're dry. We're at 58 and cloudy in Milwaukee.
We have 58 in Kenosha. Wake up, Waukesha, 57 for you.
Nothing on the radar yet. Closest is back toward Dodgeville,
a little sprinkler to West Dane County.
But really tracking what's coming from Iowa for later today.
You can see the rain chances really go up through
the midday into the afternoon and evening.
We could pick up a half an inch to an inch worth
of rain before it all settles down.
It is the 15th day of October.
It's National Grouch Day.
There's our good buddy Oscar right there.
So feel free to be a little grouchy in the rain.
High near 60.
You know what I don't like about the grouch, Rob?
What's that?
You'd be grumpy, too, if you lived in a trash can.
Everyone's so mean to him, you know?
We've got a point there.
We've got to change his atmosphere a little bit.
I bet he'll be a lot happier.
All right, taking a live look at your roads this morning.
There's a crash that I want to tell you about.
It's on the ramp from I-43 South to I-94 West.
The left lane there is blocked as a result of this.
So, you know, heads up, if that is part of your morning commute,
I do suspect that that is what was causing the congestion
that we're seeing in the Marquette Interchange there.
Elsewhere, things are actually pretty quiet for 801 on a workday.
I think a lot of people are probably sleeping
in after staying up late to watch the Brewers last night.
Yeah, your drive times aren't terrible.
43 north, 11 minutes late into downtown.
Your slow spot right now is more into downtown, though.
That's on 94 headed east, 20 minutes to go in that direction.
But still, though, I mean, we're used to seeing way worse
at this time of day, so we'll certainly take it.
Well, after last night's 6-4 win in Game 3 of the NLCS,
the magic number is now 1.
That's how many wins they need to head to the World Series.
Our Lily Zhao is live in Los Angeles, diving into the team's mentality
now that they are really closer than ever, Lily.
Yeah, good morning, ladies.
Yes, they are closer than ever.
Just one win away from just
their second World Series appearance in franchise history.
Now, after the game last night,
I went on Twitter and I asked Brewers fans
how they would describe this current Brewers team.
I got team of destiny, resilient, the best.
they're daunting. Yes, they are.
And that kind of describes just how different this year's Brewers
team is compared to last season.
But another area where they're so different is their ability to
have a one game at a time mentality and never get rattled.
So again, they know the work is not done
as the Brewers take a three to nothing lead over
the Dodgers in the National League Championship
Series. What is their mentality?
I mean, it's huge, but you know, I just mentioned to Todd,
We got another game, and, you know, there's no time to put your head up
and get out of the water.
You know, we got to keep our head down and keep swimming,
and a lot of baseball to be played left still.
Anything can happen.
You definitely want to enjoy it, but, you know, as Kobe said,
the job's not finished, and, you know, there's still work to be done,
so we'll show up tomorrow ready to go.
And here's a fun stat for you guys.
The Brewers are looking to join the 1923 New York Yankees
as the only team to be swept
by a previous team in a previous postseason
to come back the next season and beat them in the playoffs.
There's never been a sweep back, per se.
The Brewers can be the first team in Major League Baseball to do that
if they can complete the sweep tonight in L.A.
And for that to happen, hey,
the World Series game one would be in Milwaukee,
and that's where fans want to be.
And we want to go back to Milwaukee with Andrew Amuzu,
who's outside American Family Field.
And, Andrew, fans, we're getting those
World Series tickets, aren't they?
Or at least they're hoping to get it.
I know that they are definitely planning ahead and early
because look at this line behind me.
it's stretching further and further back you're feeling
the excitement everything like that people
are here they got their coffee they got
their blankets it is the perfect time for a world
series ticket to be purchased this morning nobody knows
that better than mr fred who i mean we were
we were sort of game planning you know how
this is gonna go i mean you guys get here early of course
that's not open just yet just for people that mean
that may need to know wisconsin residents
they get that pre-sale that starts at 10 a.m
and then the general pre-sale starts at two you are
here early what time did you get here 4 37 4 37 oh
my gosh um why that early i mean you could
have gotten here at like six
and you still could have gotten really good i wanted to be first you
know that that is a good excuse to have
and you know what something very special you're you're
wearing a disney a hoodie uh
and i feel like this is really a moment where dreams are coming true
for many you know uh brewers fans what
is this moment really you feel like obviously the series
This is not over, but 3-0 against the Dodgers.
How are we feeling?
Oh, we're feeling great about it.
I was really hoping that they would at least win one out there in L.A.,
and now I'm hoping they sweep them like they did us last year.
Oh, yeah, sort of like turning the tables.
Exactly.
For sure.
And, of course, you know, 1982, you can think about that year.
A lot of, you know, big things happened.
E.T. was released.
The Thriller album was released.
A lot of great things.
The Brewers made it to the World Series.
didn't make it this year or that year
or didn't win it that year but what makes this year sort
of different especially with the team oh I did I
was so young back in 82 you know not quite as much
gray in the beard back then so um you know I just remember Molitor
and Yount and and the the old
boys there you know just out there having fun like
these guys seem to be doing they're having fun
yeah and winning at the same time
and winning yeah yeah for sure and i know that this is
definitely something that many of the fans
are expecting will continue not only for the rest of
the series but hopefully during a World Series here
at American Family Field but yeah
thank you again mr fred we're going
to keep it going all morning long with these fans here
the line continues to get longer
so i'm excited to hear more stories from these fans themselves
I want to see, too, Andrew, look around for,
like, snacks, coffee, game.
Oh, yeah.
What do they bring with them?
Are we grilling?
Is that something?
Are we milking the opportunity to buy real estate tickets?
I see a lot of coffee cups, hats.
Not too many games, but I might have to ask people
if they have some games or anything like that.
How do they stay entertained?
Oh, whip the bags out.
Andrew needs a do-over if we do that.
All right, Andrew, thank you.
Stay warm out there.
It's a little chilly.
Hey, well, coming up on Wake Up,
we will be talking with TMZ about some of your top Hollywood headlines.
And a full day out in a pumpkin patch
with the kids can sometimes tire you out.
Brian Cramp is in Colgate where a local farm's coffee drinks
are keeping visitors warm and energized.
Six Wake Up News,
Milwaukee's most trusted morning news show.
Oh, good morning, good morning.
Oh my gosh, kind of a gloomy day today.
Good morning to sleep in, especially if you're a Brewers fan,
because I have a feeling you were hanging out late last night.
So many reasons to celebrate today.
The weather isn't really one of them, but don't worry.
We're going to push 70 again next week.
New today, a date with the kids at Bassie's Farm can tire anybody out,
but it's a good thing that there's plenty
of caffeine in some of their new drinks.
I love this cramp.
We've got a pumpkin patch that has coffee,
as if we needed another reason to love this place.
Right, I know.
Let's just look at this.
What is this thing, Sarah?
Where are we in right now?
The greenery.
Hold on a second.
I need to go out to see because I want one of these in my backyard.
Is that possible?
Can you make this happen?
I can help you.
So you guys cut a hole in this thing?
Yep, we cut a hole into it, and then we put a roll-up door in it
to have people be able to experience being in a granary
and how it looks inside, because
this is where usually the corn holds in.
This is genius.
And look at this over here.
So the granary also serves some signature drinks,
hot chocolate or hot caramel apple lattes.
Yes, for the kids or adults.
The last year, did you have this?
So we added it last year.
You did, okay.
So not everyone knew it at first.
So we have a lot of different coffees for people in the morning
that want some kick right right and then
also we have kid options as well we have like a steam cake
uh steam uh for the kids where you can have like
that pumpkin latte kind of vibe and then
our signature drink right now is you get a mug
and every year i make it a little bit different
yeah so last year was an orange mug and now it's more fun
so it's a collectible it is a collectible
i like it and but but also i mean i would walk around
and put my coffee in this every morning
like good that's a hefty cup so for you guys i'm gonna put that down
because i don't want to break
it i feel like i feel like i need to pick
from the list here pumpkin pie latte caramel apple latte
yeah regular latte what time do you guys start serving
these when you're open then right away
at 10 o'clock right away 10 o'clock
so it's kind of funny in the morning you can just tell everyone
comes down here right away
and then afternoon you know people are doing other items and then later
in the afternoon it comes back for a little bit of warmth
but um no this is a popular spot if you
You can find it right by the Red Smiley Barn.
Now, you say every day when you're open at 10 o'clock,
but today you're open at noon.
Is this going to be available today at noon?
This will be available Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
to get all these goodies in here.
But, yes, Mondays and Tuesdays we do not have it serving at that time.
I love it.
Okay, do you have a favorite?
Yeah.
Which one is your favorite?
Oh, to be honest, I'm not trying to be,
but I really do love my signature drink.
Do you love this one right there?
That one right there.
wait a second here the fact that you're topping it
with a donut just makes it equally as naughty
grab those donuts really quick because these are available
also in your store yep on fridays and
through sundays i'm not mondays and thursdays
but right away at 10 o'clock we'll have our fresh
donuts and friday through sunday okay and you
also have the fresh apple cider as well so many
good and then adult beverages not just coffee guys oh these are so good
though not just coffee
so the adult beverages as well
so guys if you're coming out to Bossy's Taste the Country just want
to keep you uh updated yeah the coffee drinks will
be here if you need a little something extra on
that friday saturday sunday morning
but also the adult beverages for the afternoon if you need to
get by with the kiddos and you know Sarah sometimes you just need
a little something extra just a
little kick just a little kick
but that's why we're all here for all generations that's right
because we know that just
because it's a coffee mug doesn't mean there's coffee in it
unless unless we're at work
and then there's coffee yeah sure that's true um let's
stop starting stuff what let's talk about the uh
the liquid that's coming our way and this is just
rain it's going to be a bit of a soggy day today i'm afraid
but so far we're out ahead of that and
to be fair we could actually use
a little rain we haven't uh been all that active a long dry
stretch so far in october it's just cloudy now
though as we check some of our regional cams you
can see that even a little farther south down
at Waukegan certainly here at our Fox 6 studios
the showers are just starting to work their way toward
the Dane County area that's all really
light stuff i'm more focused on what's coming our way from the south
and west a much more uniform
more significant pocket of rain into parts
of western Iowa eastern portions of Nebraska and
And that low tracks from where it is now up across our area
and then off to the east.
Behind it, cold front sweeps through.
Big push of cold, cold air for Friday along
with a very strong wind for a few hours.
So let's go kick this off with Sky Vision Plus.
We'll show you tomorrow's weather today.
Spotty showers through the midday, early afternoon.
But by mid to late afternoon, this really steadies up and heavies up.
And it stays pretty active through the drive home.
So the morning commute was a pretty easy one.
Weather-wise, the drive home will likely be a bit more challenging.
Spotty showers overnight tonight,
and that's that wind shift to the northwest
and that cold front driving in that colder air.
Still a few showers on Friday,
but the key to our Friday forecast is this strong wind,
15 to 25, gusting 35 or 40, and the cold air that that pushes in.
Notice how quickly we clear out and calm down, though.
That's going to set us up for an even colder night
because with that clear sky,
Of course, we rapidly cool down.
The calm wind allows that frost to form even more readily.
Today, we'll likely pick up a half an inch to maybe an inch
or more worth of rain across our entire viewing area.
A bit more heading into our Friday as well.
And like I said at the top, we actually have been a little dry.
We're at 1.19 for the month,
slightly off the curve there, as you can see.
So we can handle a bit of rain for the next little while.
The cold will be the bigger thing
to focus on as far as immediate impact,
because that colder air that kicks
in Friday night into Saturday morning
will get into the range where it will likely
do some damage as far as, you know,
plants and, you know, some of your decorative flowers
and things that you have outside.
So make sure you take care of that Friday night heading into Saturday.
Oh, and by the way, speaking of decorative,
if you have inflatables or large Halloween decorations,
you're going to want to make sure they're secured.
Maybe don't inflate them for Friday
because the wind is going to take your pumpkin right across town.
Just take that, even those big skeletons, they need to be very secured
or he's going to do a face plant into the neighbor's yard.
So just be very careful with that heading into Friday.
Now, as far as temperatures go, today we don't move much.
We stay in the upper 50s, near 60 most of the day.
Tomorrow, again, a bit of a cooler day throughout,
but particularly for Friday night,
you start to see the start of that cool down there and then
the model ends just as we're kind of approaching that freezing point.
So our Fox 6 Day Planner, 60 today, 56 tomorrow,
dropping to 32 Friday night, Saturday morning.
Nice sunny weekend.
We make a comeback to seasonal 60s on Sunday,
upper 60s Monday, Tuesday.
Our homes hold the story of our lives.

a little bit chillier outside as we kind of
have that fall weather back in our area now
and get ready for some rain it will be here soon rob
We'll have a full check of your forecast coming up later on.
Well, time now for some Hollywood headlines this morning.
TMZ producer Alexa Clone is joining us live.
We want to start with a pretty serious topic here.
I feel like it was a trial
that really just gripped the nation's attention,
certainly brought out some strong opinions.
And now we're once again hearing from the lone holdout juror
in Lindsey Clancy's murder trial.
What's he saying?
Yeah, I feel like everyone was so invested in this trial,
and it just continues to blossom as the holdout juror,
Michael Desronville, is now speaking out,
doing an interview, talking all about his experience.
He, of course, was later identified
as the sole holdout juror in the jury
who said that he had no reasonable doubt that, you know,
Lindsay did commit the crime of killing her three children way back
when. And he's talking about how
things went in the jury room he said things were superheated
which is as expected uh you know the
jury did deliberate for 38 hours
so you could tell that that was probably really frustrating for him
to hold his ground and not cave in to the rest of the 11 jurors
who thought that she wasn't
criminally responsible for the crime um he does say
that he's not gonna you know go into exact
details, but that there was evidence that he,
you know, stood his ground and really, you know,
held on to that. No reasonable doubt.
So the case is pretty much up in the air now. The judge
recently denied Lindsay's plea to drop those murder charges.
So we'll kind of see how this
unfolds. Yeah, again, it ended in a mistrial.
We'll have to see if the prosecution decides to
try it again, especially since, I mean,
it really almost ended in the defense's favor here, knowing
that they did convince at least 11 jurors to not find her criminally
responsible for those murders. Switching gears here now to
another topic that's just made headlines this week, the death of
R.J. Mitty. And now we're finding out
that in those days kind of leading
up to his death, he was facing an ultimatum. Yeah, obviously
as the nation and the world continues to mourn the loss of R.J.
Mitty, of course the famed actress for breaking, or actor, sorry,
for breaking bad uh we are learning that you know he
was engaged uh to Kennedy Suarez all the way
almost a year ago in October 2023 he proposed
but it seems like there might have been a little bit
of bumpy roads just leading up to his death
as just days before his uh some sources tell us that
his fiance gave him an ultimatum between
her and his mother it seems like there was a little bit
bit of tension between Kennedy and his mom
and she thought that his mom was really meddling in
their relationship but RJ did ultimately choose
his mom he was very close and very loyal to his
mom and his sister and it's unclear if they maybe broke up
in the days leading up to his death
we do know that he and Kennedy were still together just a week before
so it's a little unclear what
kind of happened in those days leading up
but obviously such a tragic passing and of course
You never know what someone's going through
and don't want to obviously assume that this
has anything to do with his death,
but it does give a little bit of color as to exactly
what he was going through.
And of course, just a reminder for anybody
who is going through any sort of a mental
health situation that there are resources available
as we talk here about the passing
of RJ Mitty.
Alexa, thank you so much for joining us once again
this week here on Wake Up.
Thanks for having me.
Yeah, and don't forget that you guys can catch TMZ live
at two o'clock this afternoon.
Then you can catch TMZ once again at 6.30 right after Fox 6 News at 6.
Let's take another live look outside here on your Thursday morning.
Again, it's a cloudy one. It's chilly, just 58 degrees right now.
We'll get you a full look at your forecast coming up next.
6 Wake Up News, Milwaukee's most trusted morning news show.
Well, good morning, everybody. Happy Thursday.
Little Friday, as we like to call it around here.
Welcome back to Wake Up.
The weekend, I think, is going to be potentially really busy,
depending on what happens with the Brewers.
And it's also going to feel a lot more like fall.
Yeah, you're right.
The weekend actually is very pleasant.
We've just got to get to the weekend.
That's the real challenge here today.
We're going to be watching this rain very closely right now.
It's cloudy and it's a little breezy,
but the rain is still to our south
and west and just starting to fill in.
And there's so much more in behind
this to keep us pretty wet throughout the day today.
At best, we'll get to around 60, which is below average already.
With the wind from the east and southeast all day,
it'll end up being closer to 56 or so lakeside.
And like I said, in the next couple of hours here,
the precipitation rate really ticks up
and we stay pretty wet right through and into the late evening.
What the weekend looks like next.
Thanks, Rob. Let's get a check of the roads now here at 830.
We do have a crash to report on I-41, 894 north.
This is just beyond I-43 north.
That is where the right shoulder is currently blocked due to a crash.
Otherwise, just seeing kind
of the typical slowdowns there on 94 near the ballpark.
That's due to the ongoing construction where lanes get reduced.
So again, not looking too bad out there.
But if 94 is part of your commute,
just build in that little extra time.
Taking a look at some of your top stories this morning.
Two people are arrested
and an officer is hurt after a chase ends in a struggle.
Milwaukee police say they tried to conduct a traffic stop near 58th
and Hadley Wednesday afternoon, leading to a chase.
It ended at 48th and Hadley when the driver hit a tree.
A 19-year-old man got out of the car and ran, but police caught him.
The 22-year-old driver then tried to disarm the officer, got a hold
of the officer's firearm magazine, and hit him multiple times with it.
The 32-year-old officer was taken to the hospital for serious injuries,
but is expected to be okay.
Multiple firearms and narcotics were recovered from the vehicle.
New body cam video shows the moments
a Milwaukee police officer shot an armed 17-year-old.
The shooting happening back on September 30th
on the south side of Milwaukee.
That 17-year-old is now facing charges,
including second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
The officer who fired the shots is on administrative duty.
That is a routine in officer-involved shootings.
All right, members of the Wisconsin Elections
Commission will hold a special meeting today.
That is, of course, as Election Day fast approaches.
Yeah, Donovan Long is joining us from our live center this morning
with the way that you can take part in their discussion.
Well, hello, you two. Good morning.
Yeah, this is very timely, of course,
as we get closer and closer to Election Day.
We know the Election Commission will hold a special meeting today.
It is going to be about 9 o'clock this morning.
so roughly 30-ish or so minutes here.
This will be a virtual meeting, more specifically a
teleconference meeting that you can tune into via Zoom.
The community is invited as well as us,
members of the media. So let's get into this.
We know the commission laid out the agenda items,
kind of itemizing what they plan to talk about during both
the open session and closed session.
We can tell you, though, in terms of the open session,
they're going to talk about SAVE. You're
probably familiar with this.
It stands for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
It is kind of a controversial piece of federal legislation here.
We know President Trump supports it.
Tom Tiffany, of course, running to be the Republican candidate
for governor of our state, co-sponsors this legislation.
Now, it would require a valid ID before registering
to vote, proof of citizenship,
and it would also prohibit mail-in ballots except for illness,
disability, military, or travel.
Now, supporters of this legislation say, hey,
it's going to strengthen the integrity of our election process.
those on the other side who oppose it saying
no this disenfranchises voters more specifically
ones who are already legally allowed to vote
in our country this did pass in the senate folks
not in the house meaning it's not law but it's still worrying
so many voters in wisconsin meanwhile
we know the commission also expects
to talk about navigating both police and observers at the polls
on election day they're going to kind of figure out
the best way to communicate with law enforcement
during this really crucial time in politics,
the closed session, which the public is not
invited to, is going to hinge on a conversation about a lawsuit,
a lawsuit concerning Honig
versus Wisconsin Elections Commission.
This is also might sound familiar to you. We know the
Dane County judge ruled in favor of the plaintiffs
who sued saying their absentee votes in April
would be rejected in April. Excuse me.
The commission said those votes were rejected
because the poll workers failed to deliver
their ballots to the place to be counted on time.
Well, the judge basically came back and saying,
hey, you can't punish the voters for something
they did not do. Ruling, of course, in favor of those plaintiffs there.
So a lot to unpack
today. We can tell you, Haley and Nicola,
that folks, if they want to ask a question during
this meeting, they can do so by just going to the commission's website,
finding those instructions,
and they'll proceed in how to move forward.
Yeah, a lot of important information there.
And again, I just can't believe how quickly we
are approaching Election Day here.
Very true, guys.
So, sorry, yeah, a lot to unpack there,
but certainly a lot of important stuff to get to.
All right.
Thanks so much, Donovan.
Do want to get to a little bit of breaking Brewers news now.
American Family Field is welcoming fans inside
the ballpark for tonight's Game 4 Watch Party.
Tickets are on sale right now on the Brewers website for $15.
That includes a $10 food and beverage credit.
Parking lots are going to open at 4.30,
and the ballpark gates will open at 5.30.
And all of the proceeds are going to go
to the Brewers Community Foundation.
Again, this was just announced minutes ago.
Go and grab those tickets.
Potentially be inside AmFam when, hopefully,
the Brewers clinch going to the World Series.
Such a good idea.
Go ahead, run up the plate.
There he goes again.
The Brewers beat the Dodgers 6-2
and are now just one win away
from clinching a spot
in the World Series, a place that they have
not been since the early 80s.
This is so exciting.
And it was that home run that you just saw there
that put the Brewers back in the game
to take a 3-2 lead.
Yeah, our Lily Zhao has more on Jake Bowers' game-changing at-bat.
Lily, he knew it was gone as soon as he hit that.
Yeah, you guys saw the bat drop, right?
I mean, he knew it was gone immediately,
and that's something that I think Jake Bowers
Would love to have had after that 11 pitch at bat against
a two-time Cy Young Award winner in Blake Snell.
He worked the count really well.
He was patient at the plate, fouled off so many balls.
And then the 11th one, a four-seam fastball
is the one he took deep for a two-run shot to right center field.
So it was something that paid off for Jake Bowers.
He always puts pressure on opposing pitchers.
He does not let them have a break.
And that is what's been so impressive about his game
and his turnaround this season.
Meanwhile, his teammates were kind of watching from all over the field,
and they were ecstatic as well.
It feels like the whole season it's
been the trend is pick the next guy up.
You know, whether someone has a bad one,
the guy behind him is going to pick him up.
And, yeah, Bowers is incredible.
You know, he had the same at-bat two days ago,
but this time it was a homer, so it was that much sweeter to watch.
Oh, it was pretty incredible.
I was pretty fired up.
Obviously, I had to stay a little bit calmer
because I had a job to go back out there and do.
So, but it was, I mean, I can't even describe it.
Those feelings, you know, are hard to come by.
So it was fun.
It was fun indeed.
And also Jake Bowers, his story has been well documented,
wanting to potentially retire two years ago,
but had to come back and play because his wife needed health insurance.
They were having another baby,
but he was really emotional earlier
in this week talking about his wife,
Lauren saying she's really been his rock.
The one who's kind of been with him
the entire way through the ups and downs
of his career, but boy, ladies, it has certainly paid off.
The Brewers have needed him so much this season.
He comes through time and time again.
hoping to do so again in game four tonight.
Yeah, life is so funny that way.
Isn't it?
Like, we can't imagine him not being on this postseason squad.
But, Lily, I wanted to ask you, I mean,
how hard is it as a batter mentally
to stay in that at-bat when you're facing that many pitches?
And obviously, I mean, he approached every
single pitch ultimately on number 11,
hitting it out of the park there.
Yeah, it's a big mental game.
I think Bryce Turang also touched upon that with us as well
in terms of, all right, you're locked in because, again,
you don't want to strike out, you don't want to pop up,
you want to either get on base or draw a walk.
So it was just mentally locking in and telling yourself,
okay, he threw a slider here, he threw a curveball here,
this is how I attacked it.
So it's that mental game you play as a batter at the plate
to kind of figure out where he's going to go next with the pitch.
And so I think when he saw that fastball,
that's the one he knocked out of the ballpark.
So, again, just having that experience, too, at the plate
has certainly helped Bowers.
and the patience he's shown all season along
with his teammates all year they don't really chase
that's been so important yeah absolutely again we're all just
so excited for game four tonight
thanks so much lily and a reminder
that you can catch more live reports from los angeles from
lily brandon cruz and ted perry throughout the day here on fox six
and fox local leading up to
game four and the brewers are on the brink
of something really special we can all feel that
for the chance to punch their ticket to the world series
and fans are already lining up
to get their hands on tickets for potential World Series games
that, of course, would be at home at American Family Field,
as we do have that advantage.
Yeah, the pre-sale begins today,
and our Andrew Amuso is live from AmFam with details on ticket sales
and the morning energy outside the ballpark.
Andrew, all of these people could work our shift.
They're getting here so early and bringing the energy.
Exactly. I definitely would agree with that.
I do know that the earliest person came here around midnight,
That is absurd.
That is crazy.
But let me step away just to show you just how far
this line is continuing to stretch.
When we first got here, it was only, what, like maybe 10 people or so.
Now it's triple, quadruple that for sure.
And we're all morning long.
We've been hearing different stories from people,
sharing their thoughts and their emotions about this special time.
And you know what?
We're here for another round of it.
We're joined by Carol and Terry.
Thank you so much for joining us on Wake Up.
there's a lot of things going on.
I'm hearing different stories, but I want to be able to touch on this.
You mentioned that you guys went to the Deer District
for the Bucks championship run.
That was another game six, Bucks in six, another special time.
This year could be another special time for Milwaukee.
Do you think the energy might be the same?
It might be a little bit different
for the Bucks compared to the Bucks run?
Oh, I think it's going to be the same or more.
I feel like every game we went to this year
for the Brewers has been a very energized crowd.
We were here in September for a Cubs game.
That was probably the loudest game I was ever at.
And I can't imagine that this World Series
is going to be anything less.
So we're very excited to be here.
We're very excited to be in line to get tickets.
Don't know that this will ever happen again in my lifetime.
So that's why we came out early today to make sure we got some tickets.
Yeah, got to make it happen.
How are you feeling about the Brewers' run so far?
It's different.
It's better than last year.
There seems to be a sense that Milwaukee's going to do it.
Yeah, exactly.
It's different.
And you're definitely feeling that energy,
especially with the team on the field
and even with the fans as well.
So definitely history in the making,
but, yes, it's still in the making.
Still got to get there.
Game four is tonight.
Got some watch parties on deck.
But, yes, definitely feeling
the energy already ahead of the World Series.
Yes.
Andrew, maybe do us a solid and ask some of the folks in line
if they're planning to get tickets to go to the watch party tonight
because those just went live, as we know.
They could spend the whole day at the ballpark.
Right.
What a great way to spend your Thursday
at American Family Field, for sure.
Yeah.
All right, that brings us back to our Instapoll question this morning.
You can answer by using that QR code
on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen
and scanning it just like you do when you order at the restaurant.
You can also go to fox6now.com slash poll.
So we asked, who has been the Brewers postseason MVP so far?
Okay, William Contreras in the lead with 46% of your vote,
followed by Jackson Churio, and in third place, Jake Bowers.
But there are plenty of good options there to choose between,
and there's still time to vote, so we will continue checking back in
on these results throughout the morning.
But time now to get you set up for Fox 6 Wake Up at Night.
Well, if you're looking for some gear to represent the crew,
We'll tell you where to grab must-have shirts, jerseys,
and more to support the Brewers' postseason run.
And our homegrown Hell's Kitchen contestant
Dylan Duffy is back this morning.
We'll check in on what he's cooking up for us later
and get a sneak peek into the newest episode airing tonight.
Plus, our Hollywood insider Gino has what movie star
Sylvester Stallone told Fox News about the injuries
that he's gotten from doing his own stunts
and what he's advising up-and-coming actors
to do so maybe they don't end up like him.
Good advice. But before all of that,
Brian Cramp is at a local farm celebrating the season with pumpkins.
He's going to tell you all of the family-friendly activities they have
and hopefully introduce us to this adorable pup.
Welcome back to Wake Up as we take
a live look here at American Family Field.
We know many Brewers fans in line for the chance
to buy World Series tickets, which go on sale at 10.
And now, you have the chance to be inside AmFam tonight.
If you get a watch party ticket,
those are available right now for Game 4.
Man, that place is always happening these days.
I love to see it.
Okay, it was one of the biggest games of his career,
and Jackson Chourio had a little good luck charm on his shoulder.
Or was it a good luck praying mantis?
Yeah, a praying mantis somehow got
on Chourio's shoulder in the middle of the game.
And, I mean, who knows?
Maybe a little sign or something.
He tried to shake it off, and he thinks he got it.
But surprise, he's still there.
Got a good grip on him.
We'll see if the praying mantis makes
an appearance for game four tonight.
I mean, whatever gave him the good juju that he needed.
This was moments after he made an impressive catch
for a baseball he had lost in the lights.
So people were like, clearly the praying mantis helped him out.
They are funny-looking creatures, aren't they, though?
Something to see there.
All legs and cheerio.
Well, hey, get ready for the high school football prep rally
Tomorrow morning on Wake Up, join Donovan, Cramp, Andrew,
and Ben as they take Wake Up on the road for Fox 6 morning kickoff.
Starting at 6 a.m., we are live at two high schools,
Racine Case and Indian Trail.
They're both gearing up to take the field
in a matchup under the Friday Night Lights.
We'll have the football team, marching band, cheerleaders,
the dance team, some amazing student groups,
staff, and of course, a few surprises.
Join us tomorrow for Fox 6 Morning Kickoff.
It's cute how when they put their little, sorry,
back to praying mantises, when they put their little.
When they do their little praying thing.
Their little, it's so cute, yeah.
I mean, maybe he was sending a good word up to the,
you know, the world out there, the universe.
Yeah, I like it.
Help our brewers along.
What an amazing game, and hopefully another one tonight.
Now, our weather has changed pretty dramatically in the last 24 hours,
and this is what we're waiting on for later today.
It's actually Winona, Minnesota, so you're not too far off.
and it's all that is coming
our way you can see some pretty cloudy conditions right now here at
our Fox 6 studios but nothing in the way of rain
or puddles yet it will start to pick up though
it'll start out pretty light at first the air
is still pretty dry for now so a lot of this is just
kind of fizzling a bit for now
but eventually the steadier more significant rain makes its way in
and yeah we're in for a fairly decent soaking throughout
the day today no concern about any
flash flooding. This should be kind of a long-duration event,
but some localized flooding if we get some
embedded thunderstorms. Now,
the low we're tracking with the rain is to the south. Then there's that
cold front to the north, and we get that kind
of one-two punch with this, if you will. And behind
that cold front, significant chill and some very strong wind speeds.
So let's go look ahead with
SkyVision Plus. Now, short-term, yeah,
kind of spotty at first, then it settles in. We get pretty
wet through the afternoon and evening.
The evening commute is going to be a lot more challenging
weather wise than the morning commute was.
And now as we go through the overnight, you can kind
of see a bit of a easing up as far as the precip rate,
but you'll notice the wind speeds ramping
up from the northwest, ushering in that colder air.
Still a few showers Friday morning and midday
and then watch this rapid clearing late afternoon
and evening that opens things up to really cool
down very efficiently Friday night into Saturday.
Now the wind will calm down Friday night as well,
But during the day on Friday, very strong.
So if you have inflatable decorations,
you know, we've got the Halloween stuff up.
If you've got some pumpkins out front,
whatever it is, definitely take those down.
Don't inflate the inflatables.
If you've got the big skeleton, make sure that's very well secured
because tonight into Friday, in particular late Friday,
it is going to get very, very windy.
You want your pumpkin to stay in your yard, right?
Now, the rain today is going to get us up to around an inch,
give or take, depending on where you are.
Then, as we turn our attention to the rain to date,
you'll see a much smaller number.
It'll pick up an inch today.
That'll be equal to the entire month so far.
Hasn't been a particularly dry month,
but we have had some long, dry stretches.
This will definitely get us back on the plus side.
Then, like I said, the wind kicks in and takes center stage for Friday,
clearing out for our Friday night into our Saturday,
and staying actually quite sunny
and pleasant throughout the day, Saturday and Sunday.
We just have to kind of get to the weekend
so that we can enjoy that weather.
The colder air that's coming between us
and that weekend is the big focus right there.
Look at that.
The chill settles in for Friday night, Saturday morning.
I think many spots across the state will be at or below freezing.
So our Fox 6 Day Planner, 60 today, 56 tomorrow.
Then back to upper 50s, low 60s for the weekend.
Upper 60s by Monday, Tuesday.
Well, fall fun is in full swing.
and one local farm is celebrating the fall with all sorts of fun.
Brian Cramp is at Bassie's Taste
of Country previewing this weekend's activities,
and I hope you still have that furry friend nearby.
Oh, without a doubt, too.
Three of them, actually.
We're going to get to see all three of the dogs
because they put on quite the show, Sarah.
Well in this edition
This was this year.
This year.
I mean, they've been with us for 10 years,
but this edition is new for us, so super exciting.
This is Tigger.
Look at Tigger go.
Oh, Tigger is super fast for a golden, is that correct?
Yeah, that is a golden.
Oh my gosh, my in-laws' goldens don't move like that.
They must be pretty trained,
or there's a treat at the end of it somewhere for them.
Oh, there is a treat.
Now, how often does this happen that we get to see them?
Yep, they're on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
There's two shows on Friday.
The first one would be at 1230,
and then on Sunday, or Saturdays and Sundays,
the first one would be at, I think it's at 1215.
Okay, and Tigger moves.
Now, this isn't just like the obstacle course.
no because there's an oh wait
a second you have dock diving too oh yes this one is Wish
yes doing some dock diving
and by the way this is a heated pool yes i heard that
it hit 86 the other day i want to swim
in that thing same here it's much better than lake water
yes um all right so Wish is gonna leap yeah i understand
that that the dogs can jump more than
20 oh that was a good that was the first one
of the day that's about 15 16 or so yeah so this is
kind of a continuous thing correct there's always
something going on i guess how long is that
performance then about 30 minutes that they do it
so yeah it's a pretty long one they do a lot of
agility they teach people how the dogs you know
do their scent um tricks and all that kind of stuff
and then they do dock diving so it's a lot of fun
and then they get to meet and greet with the dogs
at the end so yes they're super fun now you already have oh
that was like 21 feet that was
that still wish i think it was still wish she's got some ups
so this is a smaller pool in like
real competition it's a lot longer um but when they're
so they're not showing their real potential
okay well i think the potential makes the be seen here with twist
because wish is now back on the
leash yep twist is on the dog is ready
to go i wish i could color commentate you know dog diving
because this is amazing i know i
also have to say this too you have animals on the farm yeah there
are there are opportunities for kids to pet animals
on the farm feed animals and thank you
for that for including that feature here we go there we go twist
with the launch that might have
beat that might have beat the best i don't know it's pretty close
and anyone who stands by the
corn maze they sure definitely get a little drenched
this past weekend they loved it because
i told them down yeah and there are bleachers out here too there
is a path as well that's accessible
as you'll see that and plus
when you're out here you can bring your beverage with you i went for
For the hot apple cider.
You can see that it's ready to go.
Steaming in my cup for a cold fall day.
But you guys are back open at noon today.
This part of the event happens.
It's only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
So not today.
Sarah, always great seeing you and the family.
And you're about to taste the country.
I'll tell you what.
Twist, you did a great job.
Keep it going.
We'll see you another one.
