Four, that's the number of seats Democrats need
to gain in the 2026 midterms
to reclaim a majority in the U.S. Senate.
And to get there, Democrats must retain Georgia,
a critical state in the Senate race.
And tonight, in this Atlanta bar, all eyes are on the TV screens.
It's debate time.
We're just going to let
the neo-Nazi propaganda continue. Is that right?
Democratic Senator John Ossoff
is facing off against Republican candidate Mike Collins.
I've pretty much given up on watching debates since the last election.
It's all fluff and it's all theatrics.
The debate was exactly what I thought.
Mike Collins, just a lot of deflection.
A lot of it was just sound bites, just little short little quips.
Didn't really answer any questions and Ossoff,
of course, won the debate.
I think Senator Ossoff won tonight. He's accomplished.
He's had a lot of incredible, I'd say,
accomplishments that he's had for our state.
He's the only senator, I think, born in the 1980s, so he's
pretty young, which is good to see some youth in the government.
I don't think any issues got hashed out
because Collins wouldn't answer any of the questions.
The questions like, did Donald Trump lose the election?
You know, this Nazi thing coming out of his house, his racism.
Mike Collins has a lot of like white supremacist
content coming straight from his own house.
And he refuses to denounce it.
And if you elect someone like that, it's going to, what kind
of policies are, is that going to have an effect on everyone else?
Here at Manuel's Tavern,
the patrons are overwhelmingly Democratic supporters.
That's because this is a landmark bar
that has hosted Democratic politicians for six decades.
The walls here tell a story of Democratic engagement.
So here you've got a photograph of Jimmy Carter,
and he signed it to my good friend Manny Maloof, Jimmy Carter,
President Bill Clinton, 1992,
and his vice presidential candidate, Al Gore.
