I'm CBC Meteorologist Ashley Brawileer with a look
at your forecast for Newfoundland and Labrador.
Windy start to the day, a windy night last night even
for the Wreckhouse area.
Those winds topped out at 100 kilometres per hour.
Now east, St. John's 87 and then Bonavista at 93 kilometres per hour.
Those winds have come down a little bit,
but we'll continue to see some gusty winds this afternoon,
especially for those of you on the west coast of the island
and the south coast, really, this time out of the northwest.
So those winds will pick up,
gusting somewhere around 60 to 80 kilometers per hour.
Eventually, as we head towards the overnight,
most areas will be seeing some fairly gusty winds as well.
Along the northeast coast,
we may see some of those gusts higher than 80 kilometers per hour.
And that will continue at least through the first part
of Friday along the northeast coast there.
But as you can see, widespread area between 40
to 60 kilometers per hour.
We'll finally see a break late on Friday.
Taking a look at the temperatures today,
we'll top out in the 12 to 15 degree range for central and east.
West coast much cooler and then single digits the story
for Labrador definitely in for a cool down as we head through Friday.
Back up again on Saturday as we look at some more rain across
the island and the potential for a first accumulation
in snow for the southeast coast of Labrador.
