Teen shot and killed in Plano alleyway

Plano Police say a 17-year-old was shot and killed in a neighborhood alley near Alma and Spring Creek. It happened yesterday evening about 5 30. Fox 4's Damon Centendri is in Plano tonight with the latest he's learning from the police. David. Well Steve right now no one has been arrested and police have not identified the victim. We know the shooting happened in broad daylight when people were walking in and around the neighborhood. A 17-year-old boy shot And killed in an alleyway behind his family's Plano home off Middle Cove Drive around 5.30 Tuesday evening. And I was actually, like, approaching this house right here, and I heard a woman screaming, like, at the top of her lungs. Ashley Chiecki was walking her dog. I actually thought at first it was maybe somebody, like, running from the police because I heard sirens approaching everywhere. What she saw next, far worse than imagined. And when I got to the alley, I saw EMS doing chest compressions on somebody that was laid out in the alley. Police say the 17-year-old regularly cut hair out of the garage. It's unclear if that had any connection to the shooting. The alleyway taped off Tuesday night. Police collecting evidence hours after the broad daylight shooting. We want to make sure that the victim and the victim's family get justice for what's been done to them. Anything on this victim that would indicate high-risk behavior, drugs, weapons? No, there's no indication of being drug involved at all. Police believe the victim knew his killer. However, they have not said what led to the shooting. But all indications right now, it's not a stranger on stranger event. It's really sad. It's really unfortunate. And it's really surprising because so far, as long as we've lived here, it's been really quiet. Like we would never expect anything like that to happen around here. There's disbelief amongst neighbors. Our mind would have never gone to a shooting or a murder or anything like that. and hope that the killer is identified and caught. I mean, nobody had any clue that it would be something like that. So I think the whole neighborhood here is just kind of in shock over it. And of course, police are asking any witnesses or anyone with any information to reach out to them. When we were in the neighborhood earlier today, we were trying to see if there was any surveillance video available from neighbors. But at this point in time, no such luck.
