Sea Cliff below Pacific Coast HWY fell in to the water This Morning
Oct 15, 2026
We went back down to Crystal Cove
this morning to check on that crack that was
getting close to PCH,
see if there's any new erosion or if that crack got any
bigger. We found a lot of water in the tunnel to get over there.
Yikes. We worked our way over.
Go get a better look at it. That cliff is
definitely getting more and more eroded right now so go check it out.
Peak high tide is coming in.
We're about 30 minutes away.
Look at how big it is already right now.
It's
demolished.
The water is almost going up into the tunnel.
Pretty insane.
Isn't this a
miraculous ocean
that is so
powerful
and so fun to watch?
We're standing here, Blair.
Good size
wave.
About to go straight into the cliff.
The
cliff
is
crumbling.
Watch part of the cliff fall.
We just watched a good portion of the cliff crumble
and it was kind of just crumbling
for a while.
That region of the cliff is below
the big crack that kind of leads up to PCH.
So, yeah, that part of the cliff is definitely still eroding.
It's peak high tide and waves
are really getting up to the bottom of it.
As you can tell, it's just eating away
and making the cliff steeper and steeper until it gives out.
So, definitely worth seeing and waiting.
That was a lot of waiting to get that shot.
But yeah, pretty crazy.
Yep, we got the news filming it.
Helicopter up there.
Tide is really high.
Lifeguards are checking it out as well.
We got part of the cliff crumbling.
It's not even high tide yet.
Probably going to be a lot more chunks that come down today.
This is a crazy big set.
Far up into the tunnel too.
Still looks like we got a long ways to go before
that crack closer to PCH gives out.
but the cliff is definitely actively eroding
and it's something to someone to keep an eye on it
looks like my guess is Caltrans was moving
their cameras over there to keep a closer eye on it so
it's gonna be shedding dirt like that probably every day
in the high tide for a little while
good news is that the high tides
are getting lower every day probably won't have big high
tides like that until the end of the month might
be in the clear for a little while down there
Oh my god!
Appreciate you not letting me walk this water.
That's a wrap at El Morro.
We're gonna go check in on Skylar, see where she's filming at.
Sounds like she's getting a bunch of Laguna right now.
Like five stories up.
That's the Surf and Sand Hotel.
It's not quite peak high tide yet.
We're about an hour out from peak high tide.
I was just looking at Brook Street around the corner here
where it was kind of exploding on those houses.
watch out
watch out
guys over
there to
bluebird
and check
it out from
that angle
all the
boulders
rolling
around
this
one
could
be
crazy
been high tide
yet i can like
feel this
thing shaking
under my feet
broken i got
a better angle if you
can see see there both
of those panes
of glass are totally
shattered we've got 30 40 minutes until high tide
wow holy smokes look at that wave look at all those
sandbags did not last got pulled straight in the
ocean man oh my that used to be like a full like
it would extend out long you could see like where
the grass how long the grass was and now it's just
All caved in underneath
when a really good one comes through
the water will shoot out of this grate like that
Gosh, a cormorant just
ducked over that wave.
Just look at all this.
It's just concrete.
This is a good one
Where's bond?
Let's get
a status report.
Hey, what's up?
Lagoon right now filming I was about to go over to Aliso. I think
Oh for sure, there's some really crazy explosions.
How's it looking on your end?
Definitely waves washing up
and hitting it.
We're going to start heading back that way.
Hazardous and dangerous conditions exist.
So the whole parking lot is roped off,
and they've got security working to keep everybody safe.
But as you can see, a lot of damage,
tons of sand, virtually no sidewalk anymore.
The lifeguard stand is in the parking lot,
and we're just at about peak high tide now.
Look at all
these
boulders.
we were here a couple days ago
and the like security guys were saying that on the higher
tide these boulders were just being chucked
from over here all the way through the parking lot
and lost pier is open for business wow look
at that thing i've never seen that before in my life
did
you
see
that
rainbow
let's
go up
on
the
cliff
who
is
that
we're back we're back you were couch
surfing they didn't couch surf
the last day it's a miracle
look at him go high speed feels pretty good
too well that thing's gonna fall off too huh
you can see
under the
sidewalk
look at
the damage
to the
parking lot
just broken
slabs
of asphalt
they moved all the trash cans back here
because the other day when we were in Texas they all
got swept from the sidewalk here into the parking lot
and all the concrete benches too which like
Have to be so heavy. It would take
so much force to move those kind of insane
Power
of the
ocean
looking
back
to you.
He's
no cash
There used to be an old parking lot up here, but that got
gutted out so you can't even park over here anymore.
There used to be like ten years ago basketball court
Yeah, remember that? Yep
basketball court
boardwalk palm trees this place has been getting hit hard
for several years but definitely at its
lowest right now they're getting the sand
from there's like no sand left i wonder if they're
trucking that sand
in oh the shrapnel
from the houses these are uh
the sand trucks whoa yeah
that's that's where uh she took a video of just the other day
and someone was parked there and
a wave exploded onto their car with the windows down
with the windows down you're about to get
car wash
right here
so all down
here there's
been like
a lot of
damage to the
houses that are right on the beach here
so blair's getting some eyes in the sky
oh my gosh this house is already getting even
on the low tide this thing's waves are
exploding up in the air.
Oh, wow, no way
Every single house is just vulnerable
to getting smoked.
They're all, like, right on the sand down there.
More
sand.
Want to get an interview in?
I'm good on news interviews.
I'll stick to YouTube.
YouTube news.
Oh, missed it.
Oh.
Oh.
Dude, it's a vibe down here.
That's a lot.
Oh, it's a vibe.
Oh, my.
Is that all house travel?
I don't know.
Palms.
Could be.
Palms and house.
How was your morning, Blair?
It was actually pretty exciting.
There was some commotion at Crystal Cove.
There was fire trucks, lifeguards, news helicopters,
a lot of waves washing up and hitting the cliff,
which is what you kind of don't want to see.
The crack going to PCH actually didn't get any bigger,
so that's kind of a good sign.
But the cliff face in front of the crack was definitely given out.
Nowhere is really getting better right now.
And there's just tons of swell in the forecast, non-stop.
At least the tides aren't as high as they have been,
so that might provide a little bit of relief.
But yeah, the past few days have been kind
of just non-stop waves slamming into structures all over the coast.
