The Champions League returns this week, Humberto,
and this is the top-tier club competition in the world.
The best European teams battle it out every three weeks
to find the top team.
PSG is the dominating force.
They have won the last two editions.
That's Germany?
No, that's France.
Okay.
Paris Saint-Germain, my friend.
Is that with Mbappé?
That's where Mbappé used to play there,
never got anything for them.
He left for Real Madrid,
and immediately Paris Saint-Germain
won two Champions League without him.
Wow.
So, Mbappé, you missed that one.
But this is a great tournament, my friends.
I'm going to throw some names at you.
Yeah.
Because let me put my...
Got lost here in the sauce.
Champions League, my friends.
The matches for this weekend, this week,
Tuesday and Wednesday, my friends.
Today, we have the biggest game that we have,
Atlético de Madrid versus Manchester United.
Manchester United, very famous team
that has been struggling for the last few years,
have a chance to, you know, come back to the elite
by playing in the Champions League.
Remember, only the top three or four teams of each nation
come into the Champions League.
Some countries only have two spots.
So you get to see the best players in England, France, Germany,
but also you get Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan.
You know, the ability of Champions League to bring together teams
from all around the continent is really, really, you know, magical.
Okay, so let me ask you this.
Do you value, if you're a fan of a European League team,
Do you value the Champions League trophy over the league trophy?
Above everything.
I think the only trophy that is more valuable to these players
is either the Euro Cup, like La Euroliga, or the World Cup.
Those are the only two trophies that as a player.
But in terms of professional clubs.
As a professional player,
there's like the World Cup as an international player.
But as a club player, the highest thing
that you can earn is a Champions League.
Now, are there ever, is there a lot
of teams that don't win their league,
but they're second or third,
and then they end up winning the Champions League?
Sometimes, yeah, because a whole different tournament,
they play every three weeks, and whatever you're doing on the league
doesn't really affect other than rhythm and momentum, right?
But if you're doing – there's a lot of teams
that do very well on Champions League,
but they don't do that well on the league.
Now, remember, these are the results from last season, right?
So the players – the teams that were really good last season
are the ones in Champions League.
That success doesn't necessarily carry over.
Because the roster changes.
Exactly.
Their roster changes, their coaches turn over,
and also just players are you know just just
to put context to this players are right now
participating in between 65
and 78 matches a year yeah that's crazy this is a crazy amount of miles
this just so you guys put it on context
these players run no less than 10 miles per game so
we're talking that these guys are running about 8 000 miles
in a season not even marathoners are
training at that level so these are the things
that we are starting to see like how much is too
much because we could be watching football every day
but these guys are gonna drop i'm amazed they
don't get injured more
