AI GeneratedA discussion regarding a thrilling Monday Night Football shootout between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams. While the game was praised for its offensive brilliance and MVP performances, the conversation highlights critical failures in the Rams' special teams and concerns over Puka Nacua's heavy workload.
And I've calmed down a little bit, but I'm still very angry.
I want to get your thoughts first before I go all in on my Rams.
What were your thoughts on this thrilling Monday night football game?
I mean, it was a shootout.
Well, first of all, I would be remiss
if I didn't say congratulations on your wedding.
I wish you nothing but the best
and happiness with your lovely wife, I'm sure.
Thank you, John.
She's got herself a great catch,
and I hope you guys can have a beautiful future together.
Appreciate it.
And that's awesome.
Now, let's get down to why you're mad.
As the mad rapper would say from the early 90s,
tell me why you mad, son.
Tell me why you mad.
That was a treat.
There, to me, there are no losers from that game.
That was one of the best games you will see played in football.
You have one MVP versus another MVP.
One MVP at full strength, going full Josh Allen,
on the Rams secondary, and their linebacking core.
They could do nothing about it.
Nothing.
But then you have Landman punching the ball out repeatedly,
almost retiring James Cook's career right before your eyes.
It was a phenomenal football game, which at the end of the day,
guys are going to make plays.
Landman made multiple plays to create opportunities for the Rams
in that defense who couldn't seem, their secondary just seemed
to take the night off again.
but then at the end of the day the other team gets paid too
and you saw their top pass rusher
in a place where he usually doesn't play
because he makes so much money get on the field and
overpower somebody who's just not talented
because their own special teams and block the kick that's
what happened that's literally what happened
so i don't you know could could they ran a play to
got closer yeah sure they could have my biggest takeaway
from that game my biggest problem with
that game is Puka Nacua had 24 targets
while you have a healthy Davante Adams just active in
the game running around Puka Nacua had 24 targets he's
not gonna make it to the end of
the season like this he's just not and Matthew Stafford has
to find someone else to throw the
ball to or he's going to have Puka Nacua carried off
on a stretcher now he's a gamer and puka you
throw it to me i'm gonna catch it i'm gonna do the best i could
but by the catch target 1920
he looks cooked he looked unbelievably cooked
but it was a great game from both sides the fans won
if you're a fan of football you won on monday night
because that was delicious yeah i made
sure to kind of record some of the the moments between Josh Allen
and Matthew Stafford because
i don't know how many battles these two are going to have left
and it was just an absolutely an
incredible game just offensively you know uh
the defense i figured it would be non-existent in a
game like this especially with how the bills have played
on defense with how the rams have played on
defense um but i mean my god it was just like back
and forth there were eight lead changes uh 35
combined points in the fourth um yeah the bills led 13 to 7 at the half
and you're thinking well
man these two teams should be it should be like 20
to 17 at the half it really wasn't and then
in the second half they just found both
of the offenses found their groove uh Kyron Williams
was good again Josh Allen i mean you know watching Josh Allen
in in person you know it's it's much
different it's i say this about every sport you know watching it
in person is much different than
than watching it on TV
and watching Josh Allen in person the way he moves at his size is just
incredible he's deking out linebackers he's out running corners he
is faster than anyone like
he's as fast as receivers when he gets out of the pocket
and that ability just cooked the Rams on
multiple third downs i mean they could not stop him
if he got out of the pocket and that's a big
reason why Buffalo was able to put up 37 points to win
but John the main the main takeaway here
the Rams lost okay they're two
and three now yes the Eagles are two and three we'll get to them
the Jets are two and three now this was touted John
as a super team oh my god super team Rams
they're gonna be four and one nobody's gonna be able
to beat them Aaron Donald with Myles Garrett
oh my god i get it Myles Garrett is not there i understand
and i understand that Aaron Donald
probably needed to be kind of worked into last night
was his best game he looked incredible
yeah i agree with you he looked incredible he had
that burst again he remember he took that week off
against the Eagles he didn't play
in that game they ended up winning that game but the special
teams okay oh there are i'm going to say this there
are things that i see in teams that don't
win championships that come up over the course
of a season that you kind of just dismiss for a while
like oh well uh yeah they missed that block
and they'll lose this game in October but
down the line they'll be fine
and with this Rams team over the past three four seasons
a common theme for them has been special teams
and how inadequate they are at special teams
and year after year in the offseason well are they going
to address it Xavier Smith fumbles the punt
against the Seahawks well are they going
to replace him they didn't they brought him back
they finally got rid of him
but four weeks in they got rid of him they didn't get rid of him
in the offseason you go to the kicker Matt Gay
was phenomenal for them in 2021 they decided John
to not pay Matt Gay they said okay Colts go ahead you can pay him
as much money as you want
we'll figure out something else they drafted
Josh Carty failure didn't work so they've been
searching on special teams for multiple years now
and you can make the case that that has cost them
chances at titles that has cost them chances
at making deep runs into the playoffs because they
have failed at special teams and they have brushed that off
and for a team John that is coached by
Sean McVay that is Sean McVay is touted
as this genius on that third and five he failed
and on special teams his guys that he hired and that he brought in
failed and i don't know how many times we're going
to keep going through this he finally got
rid of Harrison Mavise, even
though I don't even think that block was his fault, but I just don't
know how many more opportunities we're going
to give Sean McVay to make these dumb mistakes by
a coach that is touted as a top three coach in the league.
