I just kind of just pulled a list of guys that, you know,
figuring out what they currently stand.
So in case Jon Rahm announced, he's out.
Sergio Garcia got his contract terminated with LIV.
He, he,
his stated plans are to rejoin the DP World Tour.
I'm not sure how that works.
Cause if, if I remember correctly,
he was one of the guys that resigned
their membership when he left the DP
World Tour, David Puig confirmed out.
He's going to go pursue DP World Tour membership, Adrian,
Marac just won the Dunhill Links
and will pursue DP World Tour membership
with that win and that status I wonder how how
that works for him in that scenario because
would he have been playing on some type of sponsors invite I assume
and then wins and all of a sudden
does he get does he have now like he's
in a position where he has full status and isn't in as much of a
need to negotiate with the DP World Tour as maybe
a Sergio like you're talking about or maybe a
well a Tyrrell Hatton has like a deal with them
but uh for the players that don't have structured
deals that's that's the confusing one
because Rom was in at one point like didn't even have a deal
structured the DP World Tour because he was playing hardball
that's right and all of a sudden now he's
like wait I need a DP World Tour jacket like
that I can put on because he's gonna be wearing it all
he's gonna be need to play it all next year
that was like the Ernie Els path you know when he
left live had to kind of like work
his way back through you know exemptions or he's good by the
way I've been watching a bunch this fall second
on the DP World Tour, you know, Order of Merit, he's
gonna get his tour card, he he kind of reminds me
of like a senior tour player, like he he reminds
me like a Vijay Singh, yeah, like I don't know why, like it's
the broomstick just the way that he
kind of carries himself a little bit, there's some like Vijay Singh
to to Chicago, he kind of like
you know how like Rory's got the bounce, he's kind
of got like a little bit of a plod, like
He kind of plods around, and he's got, like, a certain type of hat.
Yeah, but he's not, like, this fit dude.
Like, he wears the same shirt every day,
it seems like, the same outfit.
Like, there's nothing that's from just a brand standpoint.
The guy just, like, shows up every day and just, like, good at golf.
But he's not very impressive when you just,
like, watch him just kind of carry himself.
And if you look at that list of guys,
I'm scrolling down here to get the current DP World Tour list,
where there is a number of, I mean, Patrick Reed's, of course,
at the top of that list of the guys that, golly.
He still hasn't made a start yet on the PGA Tour.
I was kind of thinking that we'd see him play this fall.
I think he's first on that Race to Dubai list,
and I'm sure that's a lucrative thing to finish first on that,
so probably wants to see that out and then get his card that way.
He's played the PGA Tour.
It's not going anywhere for him.
yeah he and Eugenio Chacarra are the top two
on that list right now that are both in line to get
their tour cards but I think I think what's going
to be really interesting and this is something
we're going to continue to delve into this fall
as we get more of this promised information that
Brian Rolap talked about is what happens
when they look at these 10 DP World Tour cards
they were handing out before they were kind
of I forget how the category worked but they were like
maybe in a category above the former tour graduates
or somewhere in that sort of world
and you're looking at less and less cards you know we've gone
from one whatever it was 125 to 100 and
it's going to be 90 in this new for the new championship series
so how many cards are you
going to give if you want those field sizes
to be like 120 130 on the championship tour
and you're going to still have 20 former Korn Ferry Tour grads how many
of those cards can you give to DP
World Tour guys and that should be going into effect you know
so the current 10 for this season
for 2026 that will stay the same
but there is going to be a criteria change for the 2027 grads
that enter in 2028 and there's a good chance we're going
to see golly five seven ten live guys trying
to play their way back on the tour through that route
because they will serve their in effect one
year ban from having the last live event they played
so that you know this effectively what
Patrick Reed did this year it's going
to be a very interesting picture on the DP World Tour next year
to see who ends up playing it
and how many cards that are awarded
that can earn their way back to the PGA Tour.
