I love when my skin looks glowy, so when I saw that they released a new shade of their
glowy super gel in the shade Beach Glow, I knew I had to try it.
They sent me this super cute little sample, so I am going to try it out today for you
guys.
I didn't realize it was like tan, but that makes sense given the name is Beach Glow.
So let's see if it works on pale skin, because I am very pale right now.
It's actually not as dark as their more bronze shade that they have.
I actually think this might just work on me, which would be really nice because a lot of
the time, bronzy sort of base products like this, they just don't work on my skin, and
I so desperately want them to, but I don't know.
Usually they just make me look orange.
I'm just going to buff that into the skin using this dual-ended brush.
I'm going to link everything down below, so if you're curious about the tools I'm using
or the shades I'm using, definitely check out the description box.
Absolutely everything will be there.
I personally like to put the glowy super gel underneath my eyes.
I know it sounds weird, but I just think it looks really good for some reason, and I'm
taking whatever's left over on the brush and just swirling it down my neck.
Okay, I'm going to zoom you in up close to the skin.
It is looking pretty good.
I'm not seeing a lot of the patchiness that I normally see when I apply a bronzy serum
product like this on my face.
The colour actually works.
I don't feel like I look orange.
I feel like it gave me a little bit of a sun-kissed glow, but literally it just kind of looks
like I got a bit more of a tan.
It doesn't look fake in any way.
Speaking of looking fake and orange, I am already nervous to use the last product that
I plan to test in today's video because I fear it may ruin my makeup, but we'll get
to that later.
For foundation, I'm going to use the new Rare Beauty foundation.
This is a really beautiful foundation, both for oily skin and actually for dry skin, which
in my opinion is pretty difficult to achieve.
This foundation is a matte foundation.
It's very blurring, so this is going to be really beautiful on oily skin types.
However, this foundation does not cling to dry patches, which is something I really like
about it because I do tend to have a little bit of drier skin, but I recently did a video
talking about foundations specifically for oily skin, and this foundation made it in
that video.
I'll put it on the screen if you want to check it out.
Since I'm a makeup artist and I review products for a living, I do test a lot of products,
so I basically just broke down my top foundations for oily skin.
I'm just going to go back in with that same brush we used earlier, and I'm going to start
stamping this into the skin.
If you prefer light coverage and more of a natural, no-makeup makeup, this foundation
isn't going to be for you because it does give a good amount of coverage.
I would say medium to buildable to full.
I feel like you need to work a little bit quicker with this foundation because once
it settles down, it does stay in place really, really well.
It has this kind of like whipped texture to it that really gives a nice blurring effect
and makes your skin look really matte.
For a more full coverage foundation product, this is looking very smooth on my skin.
It is not looking cakey.
It's not emphasizing any texture, and it really did cover all of my imperfections without
making me look like I'm wearing a mask.
I think they did a great job on this foundation.
If you are oily skin or if you want more of a full coverage matte foundation and you have
dry skin, this is going to be a really good option for you.
Now for concealer, I'm testing two different options today, and they couldn't be more different
from one another, so let's see how this goes.
The first one that I'm testing is supposed to be really good for mature skin.
This is by Chantecaille.
This is their Bio Lifting Concealer.
I'm just going to go ahead and apply that where I get the most discoloration.
I don't know if I want to use this one all over the face because I think it's meant to
be more of an under-eye concealer, and I'm just going to tap that out using this concealer
brush.
I really like the shape of this concealer brush.
It's a little bit bigger, a little bit angled, so it really does a good job of blending the
product out really quickly.
I will link this one down below.
Right away, I do notice that the texture of this formula is quite sheer, and the coverage
isn't super high coverage, which I don't personally mind.
If you're covering up a lot of dark circles or looking for something full coverage, this
is probably not going to be for you.
Right away, I can see why this would be really friendly for someone who has a lot of fine
lines and texture underneath the eyes.
Because it is so thin, it's not going to be bunching up into your fine lines and texture
as much, I don't think.
Whereas something more heavy and full coverage is going to be more prone to settle into fine
lines.
I'm very curious to see how this settles.
I'm actually not going to set this with powder right away.
I'm going to do the rest of this video without setting it and see if this settles into my
fine lines.
Looking in the monitor, I actually really like that.
It looks very natural.
It almost looks like I'm not wearing concealer, but in the best way.
I'm okay with it not covering up 100% of my dark circles, because I actually think it
looks a little bit more natural and effortless.
Now, on the other eye, we're going into something a little bit more full coverage, a little
bit more blurring.
This is by Benefit.
This is their Porefessional Concealer.
This has a very interesting applicator to me.
A lot of product gets dispensed right at the tip.
Let's go ahead and apply this as is.
I'm not going to remove any excess product.
Immediately, that does apply a lot of product, so hopefully this doesn't give us too much.
I'm a little nervous about that.
Okay, let's blend this out.
I personally don't like applying a ton of concealer underneath my eyes, but because
the applicator came with that much product on the end, I did want to just kind of apply
it as is, since we are testing, getting some first impressions.
This is my first time trying both of these concealers, so this is going to be interesting
for sure.
The formula actually isn't super thick.
It's quite thin, but it does give more coverage for sure than the Shantakai.
I think I probably could have gone with one shade darker.
This is a little bit pale for me.
It's definitely washing me out.
This is really interesting.
This is not really what I was expecting.
I'm not getting a super blurring vibe from this concealer, to be completely honest with
you.
I do like that the formula is a little bit lighter, so I actually don't think it looks
bad.
I'm curious to see which one of these two is going to settle more into my fine lines.
I can already see that the Shantakai is beginning to set, and so far, no creasing.
So I was using the shade 1C, I'm going to go in with the shade 4C and see if that's
a better match.
I'm going to use that on the rest of my face.
A little bit on my chin, mm, no, see, I think that might be a little dark now.
Dang it.
I'm going to mix a little bit of that lighter shade in with that shade we just applied.
Hopefully we'll get the perfect shade then.
I'm blending that in.
This concealer might actually be really nice for the rest of the face.
I'm not sure how I'm feeling about it being an under-eye concealer, but I feel like this
will be a natural kind of all-over-the-face concealer, and hopefully it'll give me that
blurring effect.
As far as the shade goes, those two colors mixed actually gave me the perfect shade,
so it ended up working out.
Immediately, I do like it more as kind of an all-over-face concealer, I just feel like
it looks better than under my eye, but again, we'll see how these products wear as I go.
Now for bronzer, I haven't done an official video testing this, I did a swatch video on
my Instagram, if you want to go follow me there, my username is vancobeauty, but I wanted
to test this here on YouTube for you guys because everyone's been talking about this
launch.
This is the Rode Beauty Pocket Bronze, I'm using the shade Pebble, and this was definitely
the least orange of the entire bunch, but I still kind of feel like when I blend this
out it looks a little orangey on me, but let's see, I really haven't tested enough to form
an opinion on it.
I'm just blending that into the skin using an angled buffing bronzer brush.
See, I feel like that color started by looking a little bit more on the cool bronze side,
not like obviously super cool like a contour, but a bit more of a cooler bronze for someone
with maybe cool-toned skin, but then when I blend it out, it doesn't look bad, it doesn't
look bad, I don't know, maybe I'm just being picky, what do you guys think?
Do we like this color?
Do we think it looks a little orange?
I don't know.
Blending this into the forehead, I will say these are super buttery, Rode's formula on
these products is really gorgeous, they're really easy to sheer out, they melt into the
skin.
I really love her pocket blushes, I have a video where I swatch almost all the shades,
and I really, really loved the formula as well as the shade range that she offered in
the blushes, but the bronzers, I'm just still a little unsure about, I don't know what it
is for me.
I don't know, I just feel like the color is not quite right, and mind you, I don't typically
like super bronzy bronzers, but I don't know, I just, when I wear this I don't get the feel
that I want to feel when I put on a bronzing product, I just feel like something looks
off.
Let me know if I'm crazy, guys, I really am curious to hear what you think about how this
looks.
For blush, I have tried these blushes, but I've never tried this shade, and I'm actually
so excited about it.
This is the NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush in the shade Fast Dried.
This is such a pretty cool toned pink, I cannot wait to get this on my cheeks.
I already know I love this formula, I think we did so good on this launch.
For blush, my favorite shades are Que Que Lore, and I was just talking about this earlier,
how annoying it is that their names are so, like, vulgar.
I'll just link the ones that I like, because I refuse to say vulgar things on my channel
because young girls watch my videos, so, anyways.
I'm just blending this out, and immediately, I think I like this color, it is so pretty.
These have the perfect amount of pigment, they're sheer enough that they're easy to
work with, but you do get a really nice wash of color.
They blend and melt into the skin, they're not like the rare beauty blushes that are
so pigmented that you can't hardly use any of it without painting your whole face that
color.
And these have pretty good lasting power as well, I feel like they last a pretty long
time on the skin.
See, I feel like that really made the look come together.
I was testing the bronzers kind of on their own, which maybe is why I was feeling a bit
weird about them.
For eyes, I'm going to keep it pretty simple.
I have actually tested this product, but it is so good and so affordable.
This is the new Underslated Eyeshadow Palette from Morphe.
I'm pretty sure they sell Morphe at Sephora, I'm drawing a blank right now, I can't remember
if they do.
I'm pretty sure that they do.
For my crease color, I'm going to mix these two shades together, and I'm using my trusty
Ruffer 15 just to buff that into the crease.
What I love about Morphe shadows is, obviously, they're affordable, but the formula is just
so good.
They're buttery and easy to blend.
They are pigmented without being too pigmented.
I think in terms of affordable shadows, Morphe is one of the leaders in the game.
And then I'm going to take that same combination of colors and just drag that along my lower
lash line as well.
I'm using a Ruffer 26 brush here.
Now I want to add a little bit of depth along the lash line, so I'm going to go in with
this dark brown shade here.
This is a Shota 02 brush by Ruffer, of course, and I'm just going to smoke that right along
my lash line.
This brush makes it so easy to get a really nice, sort of like, diffused, smoky eyeshadow
line.
I feel like it basically does the work for you.
I'm just going to kind of flick that up into my outer V as well, just to add a little bit
more dimension on the outer portion of my eye.
You can really just build this up until you are happy with it.
I'm going to add a little bit more of that chocolatey brown right on the outer corner
of my eye.
I just love the shades in this Underslated palette.
It's a really pretty, cool, neutral palette, but they make a ton of different shades in
the six pan eyeshadows, so I highly recommend you check these out.
The formula is incredible.
Alright, I think that's it in terms of eyeshadow.
I recently discovered such a good product for your waterline and your tightline.
As you guys know, I am often very annoyed at brands for releasing pencils that they
claim are waterproof, when in reality, you put them on your waterline or your tightline
and then it just smudges right away, too.
So it's just, ugh.
That's one of my pet peeves.
This one doesn't do that.
This is the Hack Magic Velvet Flick Longwear Wing and Waterline Eyeliner Pencil.
I don't know if a brand has come out with specifically a waterline pencil before, but
it's honestly a genius, and this little applicator that it comes with makes it so easy to line
your waterline.
It is actually the easiest way I've ever done it.
This one little step really can make a big difference in making your makeup just look
put together.
I don't know what it is about lining a waterline, but it really just gives your makeup a professional
finish.
Oh my gosh.
It has never been easier to do my waterline.
I'm seriously just so impressed with this formula and design.
There haven't been any mascara launches that have particularly caught my eye, so I'm using
this mascara that's new to me.
This is the ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara, and I've tested this a couple times, and I'm actually
really impressed with the formula.
It definitely gives an effect that I personally am looking for.
I am not looking for a ton of insane volume.
I'm more so looking for length, kind of that fluttery, separated finish.
I want my lashes to look a little bit more on the natural side instead of like I'm wearing
a ton of mascara, if you know what I mean.
I know some people like a lot of intense volume when it comes to mascara, but for me, it's
not really my vibe, personally.
So this mascara has really been giving me the long, separated lashes that I desire.
This brush is also so good for the lower lashes.
It makes it super easy to get right in there.
If you watch my channel, you know I love a cool-toned lip liner, so when I saw this shade
from Morphe, I knew I had to add it to my collection.
This is the Signature Lip Pencil in their new shade Penthouse.
Let's see what it looks like on me.
The thing about Morphe lip liners is they are so creamy, so I like to apply a little
bit and then soften it up with my fingers.
This shade is a very cool, almost gray lip liner.
It's like a gray-purple, so if you do like more of a mauve-y, cool-toned lip pencil,
this will be really nice for you.
I like it, but I need to see it with a Finnish lip combo, so I wanted to try the new Rare
Beauty Lip Oil Stix.
I've got the shade Muse here.
I've been really excited to try these.
It has like a subtle fruity scent.
It's really not too strong at all.
Let's apply this straight to the lip.
Pigmented immediately.
It feels very thin.
It's got a nice, shiny finish.
It feels very lightweight on the lips, but honestly, you guys, I barely applied this
on the lips.
I was very light-handed, and it's very, very pigmented.
When I think of a lip oil stick, I kind of imagine something a little bit more sheer.
I would have liked, personally, for this to be a little bit more sheer.
This is, I don't know, just a little pigmented for me, and the colors weren't really speaking
my name.
This is the only one I really could have seen myself wearing, and I'm just not loving it
on me.
I don't know, you guys.
What do you think?
Maybe some of you will know what I mean.
I feel like some of Rare Beauty's products, they're very pigmented, and I feel like sometimes
it just makes them appear on the skin not to look as high-end.
They do, unfortunately, sometimes have a bit of a cheap feel, and this formula is one of
them for me.
This isn't something I would personally reach for, but if you really like one of the colors,
and you like more of a lightweight lip product with a lot of pigment, this might be for you.
I'm going to put a little bit of the blush I applied earlier in the center of my lips,
just to try and make the lip combo something that I like a little bit more.
These NARS blushes actually make really pretty lip colors as well.
I feel like that's a little bit better.
Still not a huge fan of this lip combo, but whatever, we gotta move along.
One more product I wanted to try from Rare Beauty is their new tinted brow gel.
Tinted brow gels and I have a complicated relationship.
I often find that they look chunky, and they're kind of messy.
I like a more sheer brow gel, which is actually what this formula has.
It's not like fibrous, but it just tints the hairs ever so slightly, and it has obviously
the iconic Rare Beauty brow gel formula, so I actually really like these tinted brow gels.
See, like because this is more of a sheer consistency instead of like a thick pigmented
brow gel, this feels more expensive to me.
It has a more luxury finish.
It is really, really beautiful on the brows.
As a tinted brow gel, I'm a huge fan, and I'm really glad they went this direction instead
of a direction I would have hoped, which would be more of like a fibrous, pigmented
pigmented brow gel, but this is basically their iconic brow gel with a little bit of
a tint, which is exactly what I wanted.
Let's revisit the under eye area, because I haven't really looked at that in a minute.
Creasing on this eye, not much, very, very little, and that's without setting it at all.
Creasing on this side, also not much.
To be honest, you guys, they actually look pretty similar on the eye right now.
I can't super tell which side is which, obviously, which is really interesting to me.
I wasn't expecting that.
But let's go ahead and add some powder.
I'm going in with the new ILIA Soft Focus Finishing Powder in the shade Light Translucent,
and I'm going in with the Sigma Precision Powder Brush to pick that up.
I'm going to try this under my eyes.
I'm not sure if this is the typical under eye finishing powder that I would reach for,
but I am curious to see how it performs under the eyes.
I think I'm going to like this better all over the face.
In my under eye powders, I like them to be very finely milled, which this definitely is,
but I almost like my under eye powder to be very matte and blurring,
versus this one has a little bit of like, not a sheen, but it's definitely not matte.
It's more of a satin skin-like finish powder.
So if you have dry skin, this is going to be really nice for you,
because it's not going to suck the life out of your face.
I'm going to put this on my forehead as well.
Since this is a finishing powder and not a setting powder,
that's why I wouldn't normally use it under my eyes for every day,
but we're testing things, so I'm just seeing how it performs.
These are reminding me a lot of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders, actually.
They aren't going to give you a really flat matte finish.
They're going to give you like a dimensional soft glow.
I think this is designed to be kind of the last step in your makeup.
Maybe you applied too much powder.
Maybe your skin is dry, but you want a finishing powder to lock your skin in,
but you don't want to lose your glow.
This is what this powder is for, and I actually think it does look really pretty.
I also think that ILIA does really nice intentional formulas as well,
so that is a bonus for me.
Okay, you guys, the moment has come.
I'm so scared to use this setting spray.
This is the new One Size Until Dawn Bronze Veil Setting Spray.
I have never used this, but this is supposed to be a setting spray
that makes you like kind of bronze.
I'm scared it's going to ruin my clothing.
I'm scared it's going to ruin my face,
but I am so curious that this product might not be made for me because I'm so pale.
This might be made for someone who's already a little bit bronze,
but we're going to test it today.
I'm shaking this really well before spraying it on my face.
I'm scared.
Okay, I'm just going to apply a thin layer.
I'm going to close my eyes.
I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared.
It actually looks good.
Like, it didn't make a huge difference.
I'm going to spray a little bit more and just see, like on my forehead.
Oh, it's so sheer.
Oh my gosh, you guys, it didn't ruin my makeup at all, and it does not look orange.
Okay, wait, why was I expecting this to be so bad?
I'm going to add a little bit more just to see.
Wait, I actually love the way this looks.
It added such a nice, subtle bronze to my face, and this one smells different.
It smells kind of like tropical vacation vibes.
Oh my gosh, wait.
Okay, I had such low expectations for that.
I really was not expecting to like it.
I look like I have a natural tan.
One size, I'm so sorry I doubted you.
Oh my gosh, and this sets your makeup in place too.
Like the one size setting mist is one of my favorite setting sprays.
It actually works so well, lasts such a long time.
I am shocked.
I've been humbled.
I thought this was going to be a gimmick.
I actually recommend you guys try this if you like the one size regular setting spray,
if you like a little bit of bronze.
This is something you will really like, and I think you guys will be very shocked by the
finish.
It is, it didn't even stain my clothes.
Oh my gosh.
Okay, maybe don't wear white.
Maybe wear like a little towel over if you're going to be using this all the time.
But weirdly enough, I think I'm going to say, especially for my pale skin girls, if you
want to look a little extra bronze in just a matter of seconds, just a little dip.
This is actually so good.
It would look great if you have a tan too, but I'm shocked at how well it worked on my
fair skin.
I was not expecting that whatsoever.
This might be my new go-to setting mist.
I've been humbled.
I really was doubtful.
All right, well, I definitely ended that video on a shocking note, was not expecting that
at all.
So that might be one of my favorite products of today's video.
Let me know down in the comments which products you want me to review next.
