Video Summary
AI GeneratedA professional makeup artist reviews a curated selection of beauty favorites, balancing budget-friendly drugstore finds with luxury investments. The guide focuses on high-performance products that provide brightening effects, seamless blending, and long-wearing results for a natural, polished finish across complexion, eyes, lips, and fragrance.
If you like makeup, you know that it is overwhelming the amount of new beauty launches that are always coming out.
There is so much and it's hard to tell what's good and what's not good.
And to give you a little bit of background, I am a professional makeup artist and I also review makeup products for a living.
So it's safe to say I try a lot of products and I'm also a pretty harsh critic when it comes to makeup.
So I thought why not do a good old-fashioned current beauty favorites video for you guys.
I've included some brand new launches, some not so new launches, some drugstore products that I cannot believe.
Honestly, the quality they're able to produce with how little the price tag is.
And then I also have some luxury products that, honestly, you might be a little bit mad at me for even saying they're my favorites because they're so expensive.
But anyways, we're going to get into that later.
Everything I mention in today's video, including shades, the exact product, where to buy it, will be linked down in the description box.
So if you're curious about any of these products, make sure to check that out.
If you like honest makeup reviews, definitely hit the subscribe button because you are in the right place.
Let's get right into it.
Amanda from the future here.
Um, I was just reviewing the footage and as I was reviewing it, I see that I have a makeup mark on my shirt.
Ah.
I'm mortified.
Um, everyone please ignore my shirt.
I swear.
I thought I had checked it before filming, but I guess my eyes don't work because...
Anyways, I'm so sorry y'all.
Please ignore.
I'm mortified.
Starting off with something pretty new and exciting.
A new launch from One Size Beauty.
This is their ultimate setting powder in the shade baby pink.
Which is a new shade.
I am wearing this right now and when I tell you it's hard for someone who has fair to light skin to find a brightening under eye powder.
I feel like this gave me really nice brightness and it really set my concealer and cream products on my face in very well.
I'm very impressed.
I don't know why I did put these powders down for a minute.
I've always liked them, but I just kind of like wasn't reaching for them for a little bit.
So when they relaunched this new shade, I thought I would try it again.
See how the new shade is.
And I honestly love it.
These remind me a little bit of the Huda Beauty loose powders.
Except I feel like they give a little bit more coverage and a little bit more brightening power.
Specifically this baby pink shade.
Especially underneath my eyes.
It just made my under eyes look blurred and flawless and brightened.
And I can also use it all over my whole face without making my face look pink.
So this is a hit.
Also just to build on that.
These are in one size.
I love their setting puffs.
These are so good.
So detailed.
You can really get right in there.
These are probably my favourite that I've ever used.
And they launch them in really cute different colours.
So if you want to check those out, I will have those linked down below.
Moving on from powder to powder blush.
These new blushes from the drugstore really shocked me.
These are the new Morphe Soft Glow Diffused Blushes.
These are $16 US, $22 Canadian.
Which I think is pretty fair considering the quality.
Oh my gosh.
These are beautiful.
They apply smoothly.
I'm wearing this shade on my cheeks right now.
This is Wisp.
Stunning, stunning.
Gives you pigment but not too much pigment.
Doesn't cling to dry patches or emphasize texture for being a glowy blush.
These are stunning.
And honestly they remind me a lot of the Hourglass formula.
So if you've been wanting to try the Hourglass for a fraction of the price.
I think these come very, very close.
I also really love the shade Breeze.
It is this gorgeous berry colour that's not overpowering.
And I want to get your opinion down in the comment section.
Some of you were saying that this packaging felt cheap to you.
I honestly disagree.
I really like the clear plastic packaging.
And it actually feels pretty strong and sturdy.
Considering the price point especially.
And I like that you can see what blush you're picking up.
Very easily with the clear packaging.
Dior does the clear packaging as well.
And I really like that.
So I quite like this.
I don't think it feels cheap.
But again, curious to hear your thoughts.
So this is a little bit maybe ironic to speak about.
Right after those blushes.
But I have to be honest here.
I have been really liking the new limited edition Hourglass blush palette.
This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette in the shade Wish.
First of all, I like this packaging.
I do think it's really cute.
It's minimal.
It's timeless.
I quite like it.
And hear me out.
Before you start complaining about how expensive this palette is.
It is $140 CAD.
I know, I know, I know.
But just listen.
Listen for just a minute.
This has six shades.
So technically the blushes are sitting at around $23.
I think it is.
Roughly.
So it's actually kind of similar to the Morphe price point.
Granted, these have about a third of the amount as these have.
So just keep that in mind as well.
However, I have never personally gone through an entire shade
of any of my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Unlocked Palettes.
And I have really used mine a ton.
So with all that being said.
Is it expensive?
Yes, it is.
You are not wrong about that.
However, these shades particularly.
I think I really recommend this palette.
Because it has three beautiful blush shades.
All three of these shades.
And I use them for different kind of feelings.
We have a bit more of a darker, rosier kind of vibe.
We have a bit of a lighter, brighter pink.
But not too bright.
That it's garish.
And then we have this really beautiful soft pink.
It's so stunning.
Especially on fair skin.
We have a really pretty bronzer here.
I also use this as eyeshadow.
We have kind of a pinky, champagne-y highlighter.
Which is gorgeous.
Also use it as eyeshadow.
And then a setting powder here.
I use every single one of these shades.
I really enjoy this palette.
I enjoy how it's laid out.
I prefer it over ones that have been done in the past.
So I've been reaching for this.
And I've been loving it.
I have to be honest.
But if you want a similar formula.
If you're just looking for maybe a blush.
And you don't want all the other shades.
The Morphe gives you a very similar finish.
This next product is definitely not new by any means.
But I have been wearing it so much.
I've been really busy in this season.
So a lot of the times.
I really do just like to put a little bit of lip liner.
A little bit of blush.
Just very simple makeup.
And whenever I wear these.
I get so many compliments on my blush and on my skin.
This is the Pat McGrath Labs Divine Blush Legendary Glow Color Bomb.
My favorite shade is the shade Divine Rose.
This is so beautiful on the lips and the cheeks.
And what I particularly love about these.
Especially if you are someone who doesn't wear really heavy makeup.
Or if you're someone who is in a rush to get ready every day.
These are truly a gorgeous blush bomb.
You apply straight to your cheeks.
From the stick.
And they just blend so seamlessly.
They take very little time to just melt into the skin.
And they leave the most natural looking flush to your cheek.
It doesn't really look like you're wearing makeup.
Which can be a thing.
When you wear no other makeup.
Besides blush.
The blush can kind of look a little makeup-y.
When the rest of your skin is bare.
And it just looks weird.
These don't do that.
These just melt and become a part of your skin.
They give an ethereal finish.
On the pricey side. Yes.
But I have used this blush.
Like a lot.
I wear this multiple times a week.
And I'm just rolling my stick down now.
I've hardly made a dent in it.
So this is worth the money.
In my opinion.
These are pigmented.
But not too pigmented.
They're very forgiving to use and sheer out really easily.
So again.
If you're a no makeup makeup girly.
You should really check these out.
They have a beautiful range of shades.
I highly recommend them.
One more blush I want to talk about.
And then I promise I'm done.
I am a blush lover.
I suffer from blush blindness.
So I do just have a few blushes that I wanted to talk about today.
This is the NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush.
And this particular shade with the shimmer.
Is just to die for.
It is so gorgeous.
And it is exclusive to the NARS website.
I believe.
I will link the exact one down below.
Some of you guys get a little frustrated that I don't say the name of the shade.
For some NARS products.
But that's because I always want to keep my channel PG-13.
Because I know a lot of young women watch me.
And I want to also not promote.
Names of products.
That I don't like.
I wish they didn't make their names.
So vulgar.
I'm just not a fan.
So I will be linking the shade name down below.
If you are curious.
But this is the most gorgeous.
Shimmery pink cream blush.
It is easy to apply on the cheeks and blend out.
It's not too pigmented like the Rare Beauty blushes.
But this is like a blush lighter.
You apply it on the cheek.
And it gives you just the most stunning glow.
But it's not like shimmery or chunky.
It's just perfect.
It looks like you're glowing from within.
And I just think the shade is so pretty.
It is a very soft everyday pink.
It also looks gorgeous on the lip.
I just love everything about this blush.
I love the packaging.
I love the color.
I love the finish.
I love the way it looks on my cheeks.
I love the formula.
The only thing I don't love is the name.
So sorry about that.
But NARS.
Please.
Can we just stop.
I know it's like their thing.
But can we just tone it back a little.
I would love that.
But they're not going to do that.
Who am I to tell NARS what to do.
Anyways.
I have a couple base based complexion products that I want to talk about.
This is a newer launch.
This is the One Size Ultimate Color Corrector Stain.
And I have the shade Baby Pink.
I typically am not the hugest fan of color correctors.
But when I saw these come out.
I was very curious.
Because of the long wear claims that they made.
And here's the thing that I don't love about color correctors.
There's a few things.
Firstly.
A lot of color correctors apply in a way that they sit a little heavy on the skin.
And when you're working on delicate areas.
Like around the mouth and under the eyes.
Where a lot of people have color correction.
It can get heavy.
It can get gummy.
It can get creasy very quickly.
Secondly.
Sometimes I think color correctors are almost too pigmented.
That they will affect the concealer.
And the products applying on top.
Being a professional makeup artist.
I'm typically able to avoid that.
But a lot of them are not super beginner friendly.
In my opinion.
So here's what I like about this little guy right here.
I actually like that it's in a stick form.
So it's very beginner friendly.
It's very easy to not over apply this product.
And secondly.
This product is genuinely very long wearing.
I did not find that it creased on my under eye area.
At all.
I found it very easy to apply my concealer on top of this product.
And another thing I really liked about it.
Is it's not too pigmented.
It's very easy to build up.
I applied a little bit on my under eyes.
And I got a really nice natural effect.
But you can also build this up to get a lot more coverage.
If you're looking for a color corrector.
I would recommend this one.
I haven't really tried anything quite like it.
And they actually launched a green shade as well.
Which I'm curious to try.
So let me know down in the comments.
If you want to see me try that on my channel.
Because I'm honestly a little suspicious that it might be a gimmick.
But we'll see if you guys want to see that.
How about this.
If you want to see me try that product.
Or if you want to see me do more honest beauty reviews.
Clean beauty favorites.
This kind of style of video.
Give this video a thumbs up.
So I actually know that you want to see more.
And then I will make more.
Okay.
This complexion product.
It's so expensive.
And I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that I love it.
This is the Sisley Phyto Hydra Tint.
It's their beautifying tinted moisturizer.
And this is $185.
Yeah. Crazy.
You do not need to purchase this.
I repeat. You do not need to purchase this.
I've made videos on my favorite skin tints.
And there are plenty of options there.
That are not $185.
I'll put it on the screen.
But if you don't mind a splurge.
I hate how much I love this.
It is so beautiful on the skin.
It makes my skin just look glowy.
And radiant without looking greasy.
It doesn't look like makeup on my skin.
It wears so nice throughout the day.
This just makes my skin look expensive.
And I've tried a lot of skin tints.
I'm really picky about skin tints.
But I tried this recently.
This is a new discovery for me.
If you're a fan of the Sisley Paris brand.
And you haven't tried their skin tint.
I fear you may need to.
I recently did a video where I tried the new Illya eyeliner.
Specifically the ThruLine waterproof eyeliner.
And while this is a really good eyeliner.
And I actually did enjoy using it.
Especially for a clean formula.
I fear I recently discovered one.
That I like better.
It is what I'm wearing on my eyes today.
And she is good.
I'm talking about the Houselabs Optic Intensity Gel Eyeliners.
I believe these are a brand new launch.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
And hear me out.
The Illya still is a very good option.
Especially if you're prioritizing clean formulas.
This wears pretty well throughout the day.
It is quite long lasting compared to other clean formulas that I've tried.
The color range is really nice.
I actually prefer the Illya color range over the Houselabs.
But let me get into why I like the Houselabs better.
I'm wearing the shade Deep Cocoa Matte on my eyes today.
I'm wearing it as eyeliner.
I'm wearing it in my waterline and my tightline.
And I've been wearing this makeup for a minute.
And it has not smudged.
It has stayed in place so well.
What I like about this eyeliner is that it actually is easy to apply.
As a winged liner.
As well as in the waterline and tightline.
Usually pencils like this.
That are really long wearing.
They are pretty hard to apply on the mobile lid.
Because they're so kind of dry.
And not easy to blend.
I actually found I had a little bit of work time with this pencil.
Making it a little bit easier to apply it on my mobile lid.
Getting a really nice winged liner.
That is going to stay in place.
Even on my waterline and my tightline.
You will not see any smudging.
You will not see any raccoon eyes.
These are really really good.
I like the brown.
I like the black.
They also came out with a really pretty purple.
A navy blue.
And I believe like a bronze.
But yeah.
I was actually very impressed with this formula.
Especially as someone who is very picky about eyeliners.
Especially ones that make big claims.
Like waterproof.
Long wearing.
24 hour.
Blah blah blah.
And then you put them on.
And they smudge.
And you have raccoon eyes within the matter of an hour.
It is so annoying.
I can't stand it.
That just upsets me.
Because why lie?
Why lie?
This one exceeded my expectations.
And I am going to be wearing these ones a lot.
In the coming days.
Speaking of products that last all day.
I have found a new favorite product.
It is a little bit of an obsession actually.
These are the NYX lip lingerie lip liner stains.
And I have purchased quite a few shades of these at this point.
I have used a few of these up completely.
And before I get into this.
I just want to say.
I was a very big skeptic of lip liners.
I just was never really the biggest fan.
I don't know.
I wasn't into it.
The Huda Beauty ones are okay.
I did like them before I tried these.
But the applicator on those.
I am sorry.
They ain't got nothing on these.
The applicator on these are so precise.
You can get such a nice line.
I am going to swatch my favorite shades.
This is the shade up to no good.
This is like a cool brown.
It is a little bit darker.
This looks really really good with like a nude lip.
If you like a little bit of a darker lip line.
This is the shade naughty nude.
This is just like a good everyday nude.
This is what that one looks like.
I feel like a lot of people could wear this as a year lips.
But better kind of shade.
It is not as cool as the first one I swatched.
And this last one is the shade barely there.
This is the most natural shade of all of them.
This is like a bit of a peachy.
Slightly warmer brown.
But this is very natural on the lips.
The longevity of these is truly amazing.
The one downside is that I feel like I go through these really fast.
Because I have been wearing these on a daily basis.
I store them upside down like this.
To make them last longer.
Because if you store them horizontal like this.
They will dry out a lot quicker.
But these last all day.
If you are someone who likes to wear a lip gloss.
But you don't like how it takes your lip liner off immediately.
Especially with eating and drinking.
Things like that.
You need to try these.
They are the most precise lip liner stain I have ever tried.
And what I like about this line specifically.
Is they have a lot of cool toned shades.
I found a lot of lip liner stains.
They were just too pink or red.
Or I don't know.
You know how those PH makeup products.
They all kind of look the same.
Lip stains kind of were like that for me.
For a long time.
These really broke the mold for me.
And they are affordable at the drugstore.
I believe they are around.
How much did I pay for these?
I think around $15 or $16.
Give or take a few dollars.
They are like $15 on Amazon.
Although they do run out a little quicker than I would like.
They are quite affordable.
If you have been curious about trying lip liner stains.
But you are a skeptic like me.
Or you have had bad experiences in the past.
Give these ones a try.
I think you may really like them.
Because I am obsessed.
I wear them every single day.
This next lip product is also something.
That I wasn't the biggest fan of in the past.
Matte lip colors.
But this is different.
These are the Hourglass Phantom Lip Balms.
In the matte formula.
I recently wore the shade Mirage.
In my recent YouTube video.
I will put it on the screen.
I did a berry lip that doesn't look overdone.
This formula.
I don't know how they did it.
But it is so beautiful and blurring.
And because it is a balm and has that blurring effect.
The colors never look heavy on the lips.
And these actually last quite long.
For a quote on quote balm formula.
This is the shade Mirage.
Again beautiful wearable berry.
This is the shade Echo.
This is a really gorgeous everyday wearable pink shade.
Kind of like a year lips but better type of vibe.
And this is the shade Spell.
If you want something a little bit more nude.
A little bit more brown.
Those are my top three favorite shades from the line.
And I don't know.
I've just been really loving a matte lip lately.
I think matte lips are going to make a major comeback very soon.
I just have a bit of a feeling.
I want to end this video with a couple of my fragrance favorites.
Because I am just a fragrance junkie.
There is no better feeling than getting compliments from strangers.
On how good you smell.
So I'm going to let you in on what fragrances I've been loving.
That have been getting me a ton of compliments.
This is the Granado Rio de Janeiro Eau de Toilette.
In the scent Suede.
This bottle is heavy.
It feels expensive.
And when I first tried this fragrance.
I was shocked at how much this transforms on the skin.
This is truly an experience.
From first spray.
To when it settles into your skin fully.
I'm going to read off the notes for you guys.
By the way this phone case is from Berga.
I love this so much.
About the little stand.
The magnet stand that comes with it.
So nice.
We'll link it down below.
But this is a woody spicy leather scent.
Perfect for fall coming up.
The top notes are pink pepper, bergamot and apple.
Which is really interesting.
When I first sprayed this.
I wasn't totally sure if I was going to like it based on the top notes.
But when it transforms onto your skin and settles.
It is truly something special.
The heart notes are clove, orange flower and mugwe.
Mugwe?
I don't know how to say that.
But I'll put it on the screen for y'all.
Sorry.
Base notes are suede, sandalwood and praline.
Which are what I really love about this fragrance.
When it settles into the skin.
This is just a really delicious woody spicy smell.
It is very warm and comforting.
And when I tell you.
These last all day long.
I was truly so impressed.
This was one of my first experiences.
With Granado fragrances.
And truly these just feel different.
Than a lot of the other like I guess commercial fragrances.
That I would try from Sephora.
This is definitely worth checking out.
Checking out their fragrance line.
They truly are special.
I can't explain.
They just feel very thoughtful and intentional.
I'm someone who likes to layer fragrances.
I do like to have a little bit of like a lotion.
With a layering balm.
And then a perfume.
I'm that kind of girl.
And I've been really loving this by Rosy Jane.
Dolce Everyday Body Milk.
If you like sweet smelling fragrances.
If you like delicious smelling fragrances.
My husband literally gave me a hug after I put this on.
He was like it smells so good.
This is what I was wearing.
And this moisturizes my skin really beautifully.
And also gives a good base.
For perfumes to be applied on top.
That will last a very long time.
I feel like this is almost like a primer for the rest of my fragrances.
Goes really good with this fade perfume I just mentioned.
This contains notes of vanilla.
Brown sugar, hinoki wood.
It is just so good.
And it's only $32 US.
And you do get quite a bit of product in here.
I've been using this a lot.
And I've only gone down to about here.
And the packaging is really nice.
It comes in glass.
It feels very high quality.
It lasts a really long time on the skin.
I've been thoroughly enjoying this.
Let me know if you've tried any of the products that I mentioned in today's video.
