A large fish known as sea trout is seen from above and through the water

Sea trout is a big fish, and one can be seen from above and through the water as it waits for the heavy rain and deeper water to navigate its way up the river and to its seasonal spawning grounds. This trout has migrated from the Atlantic Ocean and up through the Irish sea to get to this freshwater river. Many waterbirds and predatory wading birds will hunt and eat the fish that inhabit these waters, and a bird such as a heron will catch and eat these fish when they are feeding, although the smaller sized trout are much more likely to be eaten by the herons. This water world is another example of how nature thrives and with the right combination of elements to produce unimaginable and fantastic wild animals with spectacular biodiversity for studying. These water habitats are extraordinary biospheres that are the places where the creation of life can be observed at the micro-level to reveal and provide an insight into otherwise unseen and unknown worlds on planet earth.
