Her family and friends challenged her to swim the English Channel

So it's 21 miles, and you swim from England to France.
But because of the tides, they shift every six hours,
and they're really strong.
So instead of swimming just straight across,
you end up swimming kind of an S shape.
So it's never just 21 miles.
I ended up swimming 30.5.
It took 15 hours and five minutes, and no stopping ever.
I couldn't ever touch the boat.
And I would stop every 30 minutes
for a feed for nutrition.
They would just throw it to me, and it was really quick
stops, like 20, 30 seconds, because the currents are
taking you out of position, and you'll
have to make up the mileage that you lose stopping too long.
So yeah, really quick.
There were a ton of jellyfish.
I swam through enormous swarms of them,
like as big as my house.
And I had to just swim right through the middle of them.
There was no way around.
Most of them were moon jellyfish that don't sting,
but there were compass jellyfish mixed in there.
And those have really long tentacles,
and I had one get me right across my face.
And then it went over the top of me, my back, my legs,
all the way down my body.
I got stung by a few compass jellyfish.
I landed in Wausaunt in this beautiful sandy beach,
and there were about 20 people there on the beach cheering
for me, and the mayor of Wausaunt was actually there.
He was standing in the water calling me in,
and hearing his French accent, it was just unreal.
Well, amazing.
Fantastic, Christina, channel swimmer.
Yeah, on the beach, on the beach, on the sand,
on the sand.
Congratulations, Christina.
Yes, yes, good job.
Good job, Christina.
