Tonight against Boston, we have 12 days.
We have four exhibition games and two days off built into those 12.
So if you take away that time, we essentially have ten practices,
six when they're not included, a game that night.
So time is of the essence, long and hard about this,
going through our coaches' meetings a month or so ago, and
building this thing out in what we thought made the most sense.
So we're gonna get after the team concept right away,
start to instill concepts from day one starting tomorrow, and
then still try to accomplish what we always try to accomplish in training camp.
And that is to get the team ready for game one and
provide opportunities for people to show what they can do.
It forces all of us to have to prioritize what we do every day.
And as a part of that, I think just in the conversations that we had with Chris and
his staff and my coaching staff, and trying to put our heads together to put
this whole thing together, it forces all of us to prioritize.
And I just think the players that are here are the guys
that are the closest to playing for the New York Rangers.
And so from that standpoint, and
it's a necessity just because of the time constraints.
What's the level of pressure that you feel to get this thing turned around quickly?
Well, we're excited with the moves we made.
We said that in June and July when we last spoke.
And I think we've addressed a lot of things in the offseason.
We had a number of boxes we wanted to check.
We looked at a lot of different things, my staff, Sully's staff, Sully and I.
I feel like we're in a pretty good spot to get off to a good start.
A lot of changes, a lot of excitement in the building, not just
Ranger acquisitions, but prospects that are here trying to put the best foot forward.
So I'm excited about what we've done and where we're at and ready to get going.
