GVB Amsterdam Tram and Metro

The Amsterdam Tram network is the largest in the Netherlands and consists of 15 lines of which 2, 4, 5, 12, 17, 19 are shown. A unique system of squares are used in conjunction with number to indicate lines where a set of coloured shapes which make up a square are displayed alongside the number in the headsign. The system unusually uses single-ended trams for most routes which is not as common in many other cities. The trams on line 5 are always bidirectional unlike many of the other lines. The Series 13G trams contain a customer service desk with door command capabilities near the center of the vehicle and have designated boarding and alighting doors. Series 15G trams are far more conventional with dual purpose doors, and operation by only a driver.
