An MLB insider reveals a shocking report as the buzz around the New York Yankees recently is
making its way around Major League Baseball. With this new claim made by an MLB insider,
Yankees fans' expectations are at an all-time high. We'll discuss if this hype is justified
and when it comes to the postseason, will it equal some success for the New York Yankees.
We'll discuss all of that and more on another episode here on Yankees Digest.
Welcome on in everyone to the channel. My name is Alex Brooks. Hope you guys are having a great
day so far as we have to discuss how this Yankees team right now, right here, right now, where are
they going to end up at the end of the year? And it really has been kind of a whirlwind season.
If we were just going to review this season in its entirety, it's really been a whirlwind. It
has been fun and there's been some great parts of this season. There's also been some very
questionable parts, especially with all of the injuries that were piling up in the middle of the
season. And we're going to just kind of go into what the claim was made by this MLB insider and
really what it will take for the Yankees to end up getting a world championship at the end of
2026. Now we are going to go over the claim that was made by Christopher Russo, Mad Dog Russo.
This is what he had to say about the New York Yankees. He said, I will be very surprised if
they don't go to the world series. Now, this is a claim that is kind of a little shocking because
at the end of the day, you really like put the Yankees, I know they're, they're behind the Tampa
Bay Rays right now. And it's really surprising to know that, you know, Mad Dog Russo is coming out
here and he's saying that the Yankees are the favorites in the American league. Now, when you're
looking at all the teams around them, it really isn't a, a, a deep American league this year. It
is not a really good, uh, you know, showing from a lot of the teams. I mean, there's the AL west
and the AL central, and they're pretty much laughable. So if you're looking at the AL East
between the Yankees raised and possibly the Boston Red Sox. And when you're looking at what that can,
what, what that can be for the Yankees this season, that is going to be a very interesting
battle between both the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay race. But if the Yankees are unable to
get a division, uh, division title this year, they're going to have to play in the wild card
and then eventually play the first two games on the road in the division series that they end up
making it there. So it could be a wild card team that could make it out of the American league,
whether it's the Yankees, Red Sox, or the Tampa Bay race. But I'm just a little, I'm a little
surprised that it is, uh, this claim was made by mad dog Russo, because I feel like this Yankees
team, they have all the components. It's just putting that consistency out there every single
day. And when we talk about a couple of the components to this Yankees team that I really
feel could really help out this, this team to get to the world series and eventually win the world
series, that's always the end goal for all of us Yankee fans. It's going to be their playoff
rotation. I mean, when we talk about this rotation and how dangerous this could be and how
this could look going into the month of October, yeah. Cam Schlittler, Garrett Cole, Max Freed,
and Carlos are gone. All four of those guys are impactful pitchers. And they're probably,
this is probably looking as the scariest rotation going into the playoffs. And when you're looking
at a seven game series, when you're going against a three game series, four game series, whatever it
may be, you have to face off against Schlittler, Cole, Freed, or Rodon, and they're all going to
be locked in at that point. I'm just going to say good luck because it is a very, it's very
challenging for other teams to be able to face all four of these pitchers. So a thing when you're
looking at this projected playoff rotation right now for the Yankees, you got to see that this is
something where a lot of people are going to look at the Yankees as AL contenders and world series
contenders. And that's because of their rotation. Now I'm going to talk about another thing when it
comes to the New York Yankees, and that is none other than Aaron Judge. Aaron Judge is going to
be the make or break for the Yankees at the end of the day. And I know that the Yankees have gotten
to the World Series on the backs of Juan Soto in the backs of Giancarlo Stanton. Well, those guys
are not going to be there this year. They are not going to be in the playoffs. It is going to be
because of big number 99. If the Yankees are going to make any headway, any success in the
postseason, it's going to be because of Aaron Judge and helping out, you know, really having a good
playoff series or playoffs during this 2026 postseason. And it's really going to be on the
backs of number 99. He has to show up. There is no excuses anymore. This is the best, best road for
the Yankees to get back to the World Series. And if Aaron Judge is able to show up like he did
last postseason, it can be a very, very exciting ride for a lot of Yankee fans. But it's going to
be because of Aaron Judge. And I'm going to talk about a couple of Yankees that I feel would be
instrumental to a World Series birth here in 2026. And these are the guys. You obviously got Aaron
Judge. I mentioned you got Cam Schlittler. He is going to be your ace. I know that Garrett Cole is
was the de facto ace. He was the guy who was your, you know, playoff pitcher. He was the guy who
signed that big contract. But at the end of the day, Cam Schlittler is your Cy Young candidate.
He is going to be the Cy Young and he is your number one pitcher in a rotation. If Cam Schlittler
is putting, you know, succeeding like he did in the regular season, he is going to be very
instrumental to the Yankees having playoff success. Then you got Garrett Cole. It goes
one-two right there. It goes Cam Schlittler and then your other Cy Young pitcher in Garrett Cole.
Both those guys are having really good days in the postseason and that is going to be
important for the New York Yankees. You got Ben Rice and then you got David Bednar. Ben Rice
is kind of that, you know, second best hitter on this Yankees team. If he's able to, you know,
show out in the postseason and then if you have David Bednar, if he's able to bring over his
regular season success to his playoff success, that can be huge for the Yankees in its entirety.
So all five of these players are going to be very important for the Yankees during the playoffs and
it's going to be a very wild ride when it comes to this postseason. And I'm really just excited to
see how this Yankee team is going to be able to, you know, put all these pieces together because
they're getting healthy with Aaron Judge. They have the rotation to get there. They have the
bullpen to get there. It's just about the offense in being consistent. And I know that the Yankees
are dealing with a lot of injuries right now. They're dealing with injuries to Jazz Chisholm.
They're dealing with injuries to Trent Grisham. So there is some guys that are out right now,
but you have guys like Spencer Jones, like Luis Garcia Jr., like Elliott Ramos. You have just
guys you can plug and play there that can be good substitutes until those guys get back. And I think
the depth that this Yankees team has in 2026 is very underrated. You have a lot of guys who can
play a lot of different positions and can be very impactful during this these playoffs and during
the rest of the regular season. Now, I'm going to ask you guys the question here. Do you guys feel
who is the most important Yankee for a World Series run? Comment your thoughts down below.
Let me know what you think about who is the most important Yankee in your eyes for a World Series
run here in 2026, because it is not out of the realm of possibilities that the Yankees are going
to make some noise in October. And I'm hoping that it is going to be a long you know, we're going to
be watching the Yankees all throughout October and then hopefully with a World Series 28 World
Series at the end of October. So let me know down in the comments what you guys feel is the most
important Yankee for a World Series run. And also make sure you guys are subscribed to Yankees
