Matthew Cremona: A Tuesday of Woodworking and Deliveries
Sep 10, 2026
Good morning, happy Tuesday, or after a long week
and what's effectively a Monday.
Finally got some rain last night.
It was supposed to be like rainy this whole last week.
Didn't really have any rain or really anything of note,
but we finally got some rain, which is good
because it's been super dry here basically all summer.
So any moisture is good.
So that's what's going on out here, I guess.
I am, hang on a second, turn the lights on.
I'm sawing tomorrow.
I've got someone bringing this giant burl thing.
So the saw is gonna go back out for that tomorrow.
Maybe, you know, I might take it out today.
But this morning I've got some chair kits to get packed
so I can go out today.
And then I wanna get some of this stuff
kind of tidied up or whatever.
Maybe get started on the bridge port thing back there.
So that's what I'm working on today,
or working towards, or whatever.
Today I'm packing eight of these style six.
This one here comes in both a live edge top
and a regular smooth top.
And what's kind of interesting about this style
is that I now saw more of this
than all the other ones combined.
So I got sidetracked with my last little thought
on the sales volume or whatever demand.
What I was trying to get to was,
it's been kind of interesting watching
what's popular, like rise and fall
over the years I've been doing this.
So back when I first started,
that was the most popular chair
and I sold an even amount of walnut and cherry.
This year I haven't really sold anything in cherry at all.
That's like not been selling like zero.
I've only been selling walnut.
Maple was pretty popular for a brief little bit,
I think in 2023, I sold a lot of maple.
Before that didn't sell that much maple,
not selling much maple anymore.
Basically only selling walnut.
So basically everything that's back
in this inventory section is not really selling right now.
It's only style six, which is up here.
So now I get to make the decision
or struggle with the decision of,
do I pay the $28 to have this picked up
or do I bring it in and drop it off myself?
