It was 1988, the city of Seven Hills hosted the PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships
and now in 2026 it is year 10 of the Disc Golf Pro Tour LWS Open at Idlewild.
Gannon Burr has won here before. He battled Paul Mcbeth last year and he'll have to battle
Chris Dickerson, Maury Vildman, Mason Ford and a field that is already playing hot.
Same win for Sully, he gets it up and in off the band. He's going with the range,
throwing this on this hyzer stand-up shot. Important shot I think you're not gonna get
unlimited opportunities to close this gap down. This looks pretty good. I mean stylistically
he's one of my favorite guys to watch right now. Oh yeah.
Out of position than I originally thought. Picking up the same driver. Oh and just to the bucket.
Nearly hits it. I think with the wind behind them and the situation with the limbs I think forehand
plays better. The trouble here with this shot is when players get a little turn on this disc.
You saw Maury's was pure hyzer, flat to hyzer. Chris looks like he's copied him up.
Left side circle, a little deep, a little deep. Chris showing off the power.
Didn't know he still had it. Also nearly hits the bucket into the bullseye.
Sully bounce back from the bogey on four. Turning it, riding that OB line. That's pushing the circle.
That is in the circle. A couple steps outside of the bullseye. Leaving it out of position. He
made the gap. He's a little right side on seven. Yese is six under through his first six.
Can he make some magic here? What a start. He's through the gap. It's back on edge. It's
cruising into the circle. What a shot from Yese looking to go seven for seven. After Gannon's
drive landed I walked over to take a look at it and it appears as though this is his toughest
lie yet on hole four. But then again every time I think he's got a tough lie it's like abracadabra
and that thing is by the basket. So I mean I'm not going to count him out. This guy's good.
So he's going left of these two first trees. It appears. I would think so.
Just gonna play it. Come on. Just outside the bullseye. Dooley roller on the sixth.
It's going to land a little righter than we've seen.
Look at the result. It landed late. It stayed on cut. This for Eagle. He's got it on the weak side.
Daring players to try to come get him on hole five. Cole Redallon on the ninth.
Tracking. Tracking. Oh off the weak side. Wow. Redallon. It is a one-shot energy
replay. Very fortunate to get knocked down safe two times in a row. What a birdie this would be.
And he will capitalize. The veteran pulls it in on the strong side.
That's just another putt right on the pole. Identical to day one.
Finds a way through. A little kiss. Wow. That's not the line he was looking for.
Here it is. Vino Macula approaching on the 18th and up and down will tie him with the course record.
Fabulous drive. Does it have the height? It looks good. It's a dart. Oh my goodness.
He'll have a tap in for a 14 under par final round. Bill Cash is on the weak side. How do you
like that? I did not think it could be done from that lie. What an approach and for the second
hole in a row. Circle two. That one near circle three. I say in a prime spot on the fairway of 13.
Wide hyzer. One skip and he's into the circle. Trying to go nine under through 13.
I say just outside C1. Cash is it on the strong side. Yes, a Niemann in three for four from
distance today. Is it a national holiday for the Finns or something? Energy is high.
Macula course record. Niemann trying to chase him down. Tight spot for Sully. Trying to carve
one left. He finds it. Man, these guys are good. Split this gap. A little bit of ante.
Control the speed. Try to get it to settle. There's OB right behind the pin. No. Finds a hyzer window.
Nicely done. Sully for his fourth in a row. Make it five in a row. He is now
eight under through 13. He is one back of Gannon Burr. Five holes ahead of him.
Threw this a little inside yesterday and again today. Needs to get lucky. Somehow pushes all
the way through. He was dejected the moment it left his hand and he's a step outside the bullseye.
What a result. Approaching on the 14th. There's not a gap. Too small for this man. Three holes
in a row. Gannon Burr going over stable cloud breaker. Does this get back on hyzer in time?
Yes, it does. Into circle one for the first time this weekend goes Gannon. I want to send it down
to Zach Belton. Zach, you mentioned that putter might have your name on it. Yeah, that disc
actually flies incredible for Chris. He doesn't want to throw it because it's got my name
written across the middle of it. Big as crap and unfortunately for him it's like his best
throwing putter so he has to bag it. Shout out me. Oh, sneaks through. Ask and you shall receive, Mason.
Mallory from 40. Oh, get another one. Start stepping it in. So many circle two connections.
Dickerson has some hope. Tough to get the nose down with the little hill in front of him.
Oh, he finds C1 20 foot wide of the entirety of this first cluster inside the second
and he has done it. Absolute master class from Mallory. It can move a little different on you
when you're feeling the pressure, when you're trying to focus in and make a clutch shot,
which he certainly did there. Dickerson with a very nice gap hit sliding it into the circle.
Just buttery smooth. Sullivan Tipton for the outright lead. Climbs it in from 30 feet.
Yulee approaching on the 18th. This would get him to 27. Just a great drive trying to sneak this
in there and that's fantastic. What a weekend from Paul Ulibarri. Just tracking a bullseye.
Had to have it and he's got it. He'll tap it in. A 12 under final round gets him to 29. Day one.
Gannon Burr went two under from here on out. It is very possible he's pured the gap now.
PD2 skipping out of the ditch. Have to think very high chances to Carter Burdy from there.
He's got that same putter he's been using all weekend on these technical approaches,
looking for a little slight anhyzer out of the hand and sliding it up into the bullseye.
It needs to hold on and it does. A great reaction on the ground.
It's tracking the middle tree. Oh, just past it. It's hard to tell that from our angle,
it looked like it was just going to square that tree up and drop into the creek. It almost looked
like it caught a piece of the basket. Just around it. Off the band for sure. Again.
The KY hole 14.15. I do feel it's the gauntlet. You have to make it through without any major
trouble and these guys drives today have been remarkable. So they seem to be making
light work of holes that are relatively tough for most of us mortals. These are the first
two shots we've seen all weekend where they can see the pin.
It takes something special to get that high up.
Tracking the bucket. He was asking for it right away. And look at the touch.
Are you attacking with a lot of angle? You need to miss that tree.
And this also might need to sit down again. Okay. Get some help. Actually,
it might've had enough speed to skip over, skip across. It looked very similar to yesterday.
Looks to me like Burr is going to be able to putt to the island green.
He's running the bucket. Oh, nearly makes it. That's going to run long. Does it sit?
You lock in that tunnel vision from 45. Oh, he's going to step in another one.
Are you kidding me? What a performance on the green today.
Mowry Villman. I mean, look how quickly he knows it's in the bucket. Yes, sir.
Unfazed. I knew it was in this now to become the outright leader.
He will stay perfect in the circle in first to 30 under par. Remember, slow disc has the gap hit.
Now it's about the ground play. He likes it.
Exactly what Mason Ford had the shot of the day yesterday. He hits the same exact tree
plane goes off to the right. This time, instead of two trees and a part job, he goes one tree
and then into the base of the basket. He hit the exact same tree. Look at the reaction off the base.
He's got it. It's Gannon Burr with just his third circle to make of the tournament,
and it could not have come at a more clutch time. He'll have a two shot lead.
It'll be three in front of Chris. Gannon Burr getting back to what he does best,
winning disc golf tournaments, icing it on the back nine on a Sunday. We have seen this before,
but not for a little while. His confidence was a bit shaken at the World Championships.
He has come roaring back here. The Gannon Burr Revenge Tour starts now.
Gannon Burr for the 26th time is a champion on the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to congratulate our champion for today,
winner, Gannon Burr. All right, I'm here with Gannon Burr, your champion today. After Worlds
last week, there was talk that you might be washed. I don't think you can say that anymore.
How does it feel? It feels really good, man. I did have a rough last month in terms of just
my finishes. I had a couple of second places, which weren't bad, but I was pretty salty
afterwards. I had my first blown lead in four years at Ledgestone. I think today was really
big for me to overcome those feelings, those doubts that creep in your mind. Even when you're
playing good, it happens. Being able to close it out, especially with that put on 17 felt really
nice. I believe you are now the second two-time Idlewild champion with Paul. What does that mean
to you? Yeah, that's really cool. This is obviously one of the most iconic events that's
been on tour, probably the longest of any of the Disc Golf Pro Tour events. Last year, it was Paul
and I battling to see who could get the second one first. Coming back here, getting the win,
getting some redemption from last season feels really good. I believe I actually shot better
last year. That's kind of a weird feeling as well. I think I'm going to take this momentum
going into the last few events of the season, still looking for that 10-win season. This puts me at
number seven. I've got one more major left, Tour Championship, and two playoff events.
Really looking forward to those. I think this is going to get me grounded again with my confidence
and I don't need to have those doubts that creep into my mind. Give it up for Gannon, guys.
I'm Gannon Burr. Thank you for watching the Disc Golf Pro Tour on YouTube.
