EVERY Jets Practice Squad Player Analyzed (Part 4️⃣)
Sep 6, 2026
Before breaking out every player in the Jets practice squad,
this will be the final video in this series.
And we actually have five players to talk about
because the Jets have made two additions to their practice squad
in the time since we started this series.
So without further ado, let's get into it.
Let's not waste any time.
First player we're going to talk about is IPP player Pascal Akeji.
Akeji's story is way too long to talk about in this video alone,
but just know that he was born in Lesotho.
He grew up in Nigeria and he ended up playing rugby in South Africa
before finally trying out for the NFL's IPP program
and signing with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in November of last year.
Akeji goes about six foot four, 235 pounds,
and he plays edge rusher for the Jets.
And he made his professional football debut this summer in the preseason.
And it predictably did not go particularly well, which should not be a shock
for a guy who had literally never played the position before.
He will stick around as the designated 17th man on the Jets practice squad.
Every NFL team gets one spot designated for an international player.
And for the Jets, that guy is Akeji.
Next, it's undrafted rookie linebacker Jaden Keller,
who originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent
following a tryout at rookie minicamp back in May.
Keller was impressive in the preseason, working with the third team defense,
finishing with a sack, a pass breakup, three run stops and 10 total tackles.
He also boasts a 9.7 relative athletic score
and spent five years of college ball at Virginia Tech.
He is fun, young, developmental linebacker depth on the Jets practice squad.
Next, it's kicker Jason Sanders, who, for whatever reason,
is still under contract with the Jets.
Sanders was re-signed to the practice squad after he was released earlier this week.
The team, of course, claimed Blake Groupie off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.
But Aaron Glenn insists that the Jets are having an open competition
at kicker this week in camp, and I imagine that'll extend into next week.
The Jets, of course, hosted a couple of kickers for tryouts this week.
So we'll see who ends up getting the week one kicker job.
I'm guessing it's not going to be Sanders, but for now, he is still around.
He is still with the team.
Jets also re-signed offensive guard Cole LaVow to their practice squad
after he originally made the initial 53 man roster this week.
Prior to waiver claims, he will be brought back for his third season
with the Jets as veteran flexible guard and kind of center depth.
The former UFL standout was playing a little bit of center in preseason.
I think the Jets probably prefer him in guard,
but nonetheless, he's back for a third year with the team.
And lastly, it's the newest addition to the Jets practice squad.
It's offensive tackle Brant Banks.
Banks worked out for the Jets earlier this week
before ultimately signing to their practice squad.
Banks originally signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent
out of Rice last year, appearing in two games with Green Bay last season.
Banks stands at about six foot seven, three hundred five pounds,
and he is a former basketball player.
He did play both left and right tackle in college,
although he exclusively played right tackle for the Packers this summer.
And notably, he's the only offensive tackle currently on the Jets practice squad.
Hence why they added him.
They needed some sort of offensive tackle depth on the practice squad.
And now they have it. His name is Brant Banks.
I'm keeping you guys up to date on every practice squad move
the Jets make this year.
So do not expect this to be the last practice squad video of the season.
Stay tuned.
