Thoughts on EVERY Jets Practice Squad Player (Part 2️⃣)

This is part two of breaking down every single player on the Jets practice squad.
This is for the fans out there who want to know literally every single player
under contract with the Jets.
Let's continue our list. Let's do it.
Continuing with Jamal Pritchett, Pritchett is entering his second year
in the NFL after signing with the Jets
as an undrafted free agent out of South Alabama last year.
And if you remember, he was one of the preseason darlings in 2025.
Ultimately did not make the team, but he returned this summer
and unfortunately didn't play in either of the last two preseason games
because of an injury.
Next, and it's one of my favorites, it's undrafted rookie wide receiver
Malik McLean.
McLean honestly made a bit of a late push for a 53-man roster spot,
and I thought he wholly outplayed Arian Smith, both on offense
and special teams in the preseason.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to get him a spot on the 53,
but he is a super fun developmental player to have on the practice squad.
Those who are unaware, McLean is a former four-star recruit
who had a 9.92 relative athletic score,
thanks in part to a 4-4-6 40-yard dash at 6'4, 205 pounds.
Yet despite his obvious physical traits,
he never had more than 450 yards in a season in college.
He's a bit of an enigma in that respect, but he was running a lot
with the second team offense in the preseason,
and I thought he made a couple of plays on special teams as well.
He is a very fun developmental player to keep around.
Next, it's offensive guard Marquise Hayes.
I think most probably forget at this point,
but Marquise Hayes actually made the Jets' initial 53-man roster
last year before roster gymnastics happened.
They claimed a couple of guys and he was sent to the practice squad,
which is where he spent the entire year, but he returned this summer
and was honestly maybe the Jets' best scout team offensive lineman.
Hayes was actually PFF's highest graded Jets offensive lineman
in the preseason, posting an 85.2 grade,
which ranked sixth best among all qualified offensive guards in the NFL.
He also had a team best 88.7 PFF pass block grade last year.
So that makes it two consecutive summers that he is impressed with the Jets.
I remember Hayes back in Oklahoma, like he was kind of a big name
and he hasn't really done much in the NFL,
but he's a veteran who's bounced around
and he has quality offensive line depth on the practice squad.
And the last guy we'll talk about in this video,
it's veteran defensive lineman Jack Heflin, who is back on the practice squad.
Heflin quietly put together a very impressive, but under the radar summer.
He flashed at times in training camp and that carried over into the preseason
where he finished with five pressures and seven run stops,
both of which ranked second best on the Jets.
Heflin is a former all XFL honoree who has appeared in seven NFL
games for four different teams over the last like five years.
He's kind of like the new Tanzel Smart, like he's bounced around a lot.
He's probably not somebody that's ever going to be a full time 53 guy,
but I think he has quality depth on the practice squad
and he definitely earned his spot this summer.
That's nine players down. We got eight more to go.
Stay tuned for part three.
